Nice video. Very informative. But please help me; I can't get a shine on my leather work boots to save my soul. I'v tried everything known to man and experimented with every technique and medium for years, right out of the box boots and old boots. Is it me or is it the leather? It's almost as if the supple leather is too porous and the wax or polishing oils never completely dry. I generally wear Red Wings, Carolina's, and ThouroughGood's. When I was a kid in the 70's and 80's, they would always shine up to a mirror finish. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

How do you remember all that material when presenting? Are u using flash cards or it’s all memorized ?

This works until you start walking in them. Heating them like this creates a hard surface that flakes off rather quickly and the boots look dull again not long after. Not to mention this ruins the leather quickly and you'll be needing a new pair in no time. Best just to stick to the old fashioned methods because they get shiny enough without bulling them. These are work boots after all, not parade boots.

I understand some people dedicate their lives to joining the LAFD and it’s a lengthy process, and they’re lucky if they even get to become members of the LAFD. No just no stop!!! Yes melting the wax before you put it on is good but you really don't want to put a heat gun on leather especially lots and lots over the lifetime of a boot!! It might look good since he put so much wax on the boot to start with and then used a blooming Heat gun to melt it into the boots but after a little bit of actual walking it's gonna look extremely bad and the method he used will dry out the leather and they will split!!! Where's this coming from??

Most interior doors nowadays are split jamb doors, in other words the jamb is made in two pieces for ease of installation. In these doors the stop that he slid the tool behind is not separate from the jamb, it's all one piece with the hinge side of the jamb. I've been a finish carpenter for over 20 years and every interior door I've installed has been this type.

Hello, I have a unique situation regarding the Military service portion of the application: I was accepted for a Navy Pilot slot and sent to officer candidate school for one month before I was medically separated for an eye condition: Keratoconus (Which is not disqualifying for FF). In order to receive Honorable discharge in the military you have to have been active duty for 3 months. So I have a medical separation and was marked by the Commanding Officer of OCS "Highly Recommended to return to OCS" just not as a pilot. Would I be eligible for these 5 points on my application given I provide the supporting documents? If not, is it worth noting in my application and resume anyways? Thank you
