Great report! Did I hear about Badiley? Isnt that the same Badiley who fought at Leghorn?
The same! Glad you iked it!
great video. Looking forward to more!
Thank you. There will definitely be more - lots of other good stuff on the channel - have a look!
Rules question about hull points. Sixpenny, goodly, grave & mortal are the hull categories. If my ship has 12 hull points,(category 6 frigate) I assume I'd divide the 12 hull points across the 4 damage categories? But what if I have a weird number like, 6, or 2? Thanks
If you have Mad for War that is explained in the table on P149. 2 = 1 GOODLY/1MORTAL 6 = 1/2/2/1
@@leagueofaugsburg9036 Thank you, I found the chart in the back of the book. I have a question about gun size and manuverability. If a class 6 takes light guns, how would I show that the manuverability is better? Class 6 is still Weatherly, so I can't change the speed class. Would you add +1 to her movement? Looking through the pdf I can't find this question answered.
@@rogueskypilot4116 That is all in the main rules but you can gove her one extra 45 degree turn in her movement
What color do you use for your sails?
Off white undercoat. Khaki or similar base coat, highlight in light ochre or buff or similar and keep highliighting up to a pale sand. Then tone it down and soften it with a flood of soft tone army painter.
That is a great game, I wish you would publish! Thanks!!
Thank you. And, I think I have to now!
Very cool. Love the video.
Thanks Lee. Very much appreciated
I remember seeing your PA game way back at Historicon. Great stuff!
Great memory! I had to hustle to get a table that day, I remember.
Really nice table!!!
Really nice comment! Thanks
Okay...a bit of change of theater...nice! As of late there appears to be a interest in the historical gaming community for "Tank" gaming. I play What a Tanker, which is a fun game but has a couple of issues. Not a fan of anything from Warlord...but very curious on your Panzer Ace game! Love the narrative and especially the random events added. Is Panzer Ace a Co-Op style or a versus style game? Will you continue to develop the game toward publication? Thanks again for an exciting video and a spark of ins tests in this game system.
Yes, a change from what I most known for but I have always been a WW2 gamer, although that space is very crowded. The game is a competition between the players with the 'House' acting as the enemy. Don't harass your comrades but don;t help them either! I will publish.
@@leagueofaugsburg9036 Awesome!
Fabulous stuff. Love it. Gripping & thrilling watch. Great editing & narrative. Thank you. Great channel!!
Much appreciated! I will keep it coming!
Fantastic video - hope you will release the rules at some point?
Thank you! Yes, I think I will now. I has been at the back of my mind for years to do something with this. The video was probably the spark I needed.
@@leagueofaugsburg9036 great, look forward to that as it looks a great system!
Great stuff Barry👍
Thank you!
Super fun as always Barry!
Cheers Joe!
Excellent video and game! Thanks for sharing 👏🏻
Much appreciated. thank you!
Lovely miniatures. Would love to see more!
I have hordes of that stuff, it doesn't get out often enough. Glad you liked it!
Great video, beautiful table and looks like a lotta fun. Many Thanks Barry👍
It is a lot of fun Paul. I even got the girls to play it! Thanks
This looks to be an interesting fun set of rules Barry, I look forward to seeing more 😁
Cheers Lee. They are fun. That was the core idea when writing them. Short, action packed and easy to pick up.
A new set of rules?
Well, not new. Unpublished is more accurate. Used and played many times. Always meant to get round to publishing.
I just checked my notes - I wrote it in 2005!
you have got to publish , great wideo and story
That would be a relatively easy thing to do Rob. I will seriosly consider it. Thanks for the kind words.
That was great fun to watch, I loved the stop motion parts. Very nice to see those models again after so many years!
Thanks Paul. I had a bit of fun with it. I forgot that you might recognize some of those. You played with them!
Yes i gotta get those water explosions...im doing pnobscot bay with sails o glory rules...which i would say feels more like rolling cannon fire than throwing dice
Good luck with the project
Splendid ships and presentation, superb video!!
Much appreciated, Phil, thank you!
wowza, you rarely see this type of wargaming!
It is a lot of fun and definitely NOT dull!
Yet more ships I’ll need to buy😂
Sorry, Tom. I am accused of being a peddler in addictive lead misery!
Looks good 😊 The board looked magnificent. Your own work again??
Thank you! The boards is in fact, a purchased play mat from Deep Cut. I think it really 'pops'
@@leagueofaugsburg9036- Awesome mat! I honestly thought it was sculpted and painted until the close up at 5:50, where you can see the cloth texture.
@@sirrathersplendid4825 Yes. I did go in a bit close! It was worth the price, it is a really nice mat.
Fantastic video, love the terrain and miniatures as always! Will eagerly await the release of those rules, always been interested in ancient naval battles but never gamed it...
Thanks! Nor had I. Mad for War was very easy to adapt for Ancient gaming and the glley stuff had already ben worked out for Renaissance parts of MfW.
great video , what mat did you use to play on ?
Thanks Rob. It is from Deep Cut. I can't remember what it's called but you will find it easliy because it is so distinctive. The game was great fun. I've had these rules in the bag for nearly 18 months. Must get round to formating and publishing.
Can we get some tutorial videos for, Mad for War? It would be super helpful
There are several already on the channel. Have you watched them?
Here's one and there are several more on the channel ruclips.net/video/l4p6yIalCfQ/видео.html
Kudos on solving the huge challenge of fighting in built-up areas. When I used to game, it was an issue we just plain avoided in Napoleonic or any line-army battles. Sounds like you have an elegant solution!
I gave that an awful lot of thought. It does work very well. Thanks for that feedback! Much appreciated.
@@leagueofaugsburg9036 It's been a very long time since I painted or fielded any minis. I stick to the screen or boardgame these days. But it makes me very happy to see the hobby is alive and well, and obviously advancing! Keep up the great work, sir!
@@joeyj6808 I'll continue to fly the flag!
probably the most interesting / enjoyable wargame ive watched so far :) good work
Glad you enjoyed it! Lots more to come
Question, how did you make those water explosions?
Those are purchased from Langton Miniatures
Looks Fantastic!
Much appreciated!
Excellent! Looking forward to my copy.
Thanks, Ben!
Fantastic!
Thanks!
Fantastic Barry looking forward to this one 👌
Thanks 👍
Looks fantastic Barry cant wait to get my hands on it. Nice to know it smeels good!😉😂
It does!
Awesome looking book and good period to read up on and game! Great work.
Much appreciated!
Wow that is dead sexy ❤❤❤❤❤
Looking forward to these being released!
Me too, Callum!
incredible!
Much appreciated!
Well, this looked VERY interesting! I've been trying to work WW1 dreadnoughts into my gaming group with 1/6000 figurehead ships and Age of Dreadnoughts rules. This may work better.
Have a go!
These are great!
Thanks! We are very happy with them
Congratulations!.....Fair winds for your continuing watery works....
Thanks! All aboard!
Any chance of a new video? 4 Bras, or something Peninsular? Ive replayed this video so much, my eyes are getting worn oot!
Working on stuff all the time. Just not enough hours in the day. Hope to have some new Naps stuff up in the forseeable future
Clear explanations, very attractive layout; I wish all wargaming videos were like this.
Glad you liked it!
Great video Barry, I’ve watched it several times. I received my PDF copy of the rules last week and am now on a learning curve, planning a game at our club here in Wellington, New Zealand next month. I have been unable to find the PowerPoint file for the roster sheet on the LofA website, any chance you could send me the link?
Sure Paul. I need your email address to do that. You will have mine via the LoA site or your paypal purchase. Just send it to me and I'' send the file. It is uploaded on the FB Dread Nought! group files.
Looks really interesting. Been looking for a WW1 squadron level game for a long time.
I hope you come on board, Gavin. You can find the rules here www.leagueofaugsburg.com/shop/product-1302.html
Nice!
Cheers!
Well done Barry, looks great and fun!
Thank you! It is indeed a lot of fun.
