Best Photo Camera DSLR For Under $300 in 2022

For $300 or less, it can be hard to find a great photo camera 2022. There are other options but I don't think any other photo camera does it as well as the one I'm using. Some cameras, like this one, can still hold their own in 2022. Finally, we’re talking about the canon 5DII in 2022! I personally own the 5DC, which is an all time favorite camera of mine, so I wanted to see why the 5DII still is getting so much praise (even in 2022). This camera was a workhorse when it first came out but can it still hold up with all the new mirrorless cameras of today? Let’s review! CANON 5DII ON AMAZON: amzn.to/3ODhY8q Learn more about M...

Why You Should Pick Up The Canon 28mm f1.8 - Photos With Canon 5D Classic

Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Sony review (WIDE ANGLE BEAST)
It's November 2024 and I'm still using it. Well, the quality still is killer and would be using it 4-5 years down the line cause why not. For Instagram it's wayyyyyyy more than enough for me. Even cropping 100% gives 2x time required quality of Instagram haha.
Lost me at clutch
4k, slo mo, blah blah...meaningless to photography.
I just picked up a 5D II for $300 with under 10 shutter count. Reading through the manual now.
I recently bought a 5D2 too, as an everyday carry camera. I have a 5DsR since earlier, but I really come to love the 5D2. I tend to pair it together with my Zeiss Milvus lenses, and even bought an Eg-S screen for those manual focus lenses. Magic Lantern is also installed, very handy stuff giving me focus peeking, 300% focus preview on a small portion of the live view, ETTR helper etc. Awesome camera, can't even complain about what many other people complain about - the dynamic range - is kind of awesome and definitely good enough to whatever I attempted to put the camera through! I can recover well around 1.5 EV of highlights on it, something I just can't do on the newer stuff. The shadow recovery is also much better than the newer 5DsR, feels like. Those bigger photo sites are great, and the smaller RAW files are a bonus as well. What kind of surprised me on your shots in the video was that you used ISO 640 and higher in the middle of the day... it might be a photographic style thing; I just keep thinking that it caps off a lot of signal among all the noise, while one can add a lot of grain etc. in post if desired...
Is it really safe to install ML? I have had my 5dMK2 for nearly 7 years now, I read a lot of negativity about it, I was afraid of using it, many people claimed that ML killed their cameras.
@@genuine0 I haven't encountered any incidents. That said, I am careful with it (turn off and let it be for a few seconds before opening the card door and removing the card). Besides that I simply accept the level of residual risk there is. The thing is I bought the camera rather cheap as second-hand, so I could survive if ML bricked it. If you barely managed to save up for the camera, I would not suggest you putting ML in it. ML supposedly works so that its machine code (program instructions) executes straight from the memory card rather than being first loaded into the RAM memory of the camera. ML is probably far too big to fit in the RAM memory besides the original Canon firmware. Well, in the event of the memory card or the card interface failing, or the user removing the card while the camera is still running (i.e., while the processor still reads ML's program instructions from the memory card), it can suddenly start to read in and execute random-ish garbage (or what it may be... probably rather undefined). Undefined behavior is something neither programmers nor users generally want, and it can potentially damage stuff. It's kind of like an uncontained explosion or fire. Having the processor execute random-ish garbage will utmost likely result in the camera crashing, and it might also brick the camera. Should you ever realize that you removed the card before letting the camera shut down; or that your camera simply hang up on you, make sure to remove the battery as soon as you can. All that said, I still like using ML because it has features that functionally brings the camera close to the modern mirrorless R-series in some regards (adjustable focus-peaking, adjustable zoom window (like 300% or what you like right where you focus), etc.). I enjoy these functions as I shoot a lot with manual focus prime lenses, and it helps me nail the focus.
What song is that, it’s beautiful!
no dual sdcard and very bad battery life, thats the only problems about a7ii
What you said about video on the 7 II is right for the most part. The problem isn't primarily the resolution, it's two different aspects: 1) It is line-skipped and 2) it does show a lot of nasty Moiré. If you shoot a nature scene, this really hurts the eyes because you have all this fine detail and you don't get a full sensor readout or binning or anything like that. I guess it will only use 1/6 of the sensor pixels, every third in width, every second in height. I don't know exactly how it works technically, but as soon as you shoot scenes of a certain complexity, you will note this. You can't just point it somewhere and record as you would with 4K. You really have to be mindful how to compose, as you said. I'd say it is even beneficial to work with shallower depth of field to blur out what is not in focus to kind of hide it. Concerning video AF, well yes, it's light and day between A7 III and II here. The 7 II isn't so sticky, it tends to shift more. If you know how to use MF, I'd recommend doing that, as long as you don't have plenty of light. Concerning everything in terms of photos: Shortly, this camera is still VERY capable. I used it with a Tamron 28-200, a Tamron 35/2.8 and Sony's 50/1.8. There is nothing to say why you should not use this camera for photo. Plus, and that is strange, I liked the outcome of photos on the A7 II a lot more than on the 7 III or 7R III. The latter show weird colours on their LCD and the image (SOOC JPG and MP4) was shifted too much towards the reddish side. In the end, I can only agree with your statement at the end: Only photos? A7 II, no problem. Care about video, too? Better go for the A7 III. As a beginner, the A7 II is ideal because you can work yourself into it to maximize what you can get out of it, be it manual focusing, working with RAW, working with picture profiles, customizing your camera to your needs.
Hello. What do you use nd filter for tamron 70 180 lens. Thanks
B3st gear of all time
Is it swiss
Why would you select iso 1000 in good daylight on a short focal length camera? 2:36
I would regret any tamron lens purchase.
Reason?
@@jenavlogs11 Low quality.
@@fatpanda1597 what would you recommend then? Sigma 16-28 2.8?
I add "grain" on my Fuji, to get rid of that digital perfection. I may also add a 1/4 black-mist filter.
Please, first of all, not the price first . Firstly This camera has a soul and quality that all other cameras do not have. I have it and I know it.
I just bought one in 2024. Looking forward to going back to basics. I need a break from mirrorless :)
I have used my 5DII from late december 2008... and it's okay. And when the AF think it is a bit too dark, than I use my canon 540 Flash ,not always for light, just to help AF and it works fine for me when it not is too dark and you still want pictures without flash
I just bought a 5D MKII in 2024. I was going to buy the R6 MKII or R5, but decided against it. No regrets.
I prefer completely manual lenses over auto focus. Missing focus in auto focus, no thanks.
Would this camera be good for top down rig Product Reviews....
I am trying so hard not to get this camera since I already have way too many cameras and lenses and not enough time to use them all
I just bought a 5Dii and realized that the freakin compact flash cards cost $100 bucks each. what card do you guys use?
I have plenty of CF cards from back in the day when that was our standard card in use.. but you can use a SD > CF adapter. They are a low cost option. I did buy one but bought the cheapest available and was not happy with the physical properties and fit.. returned it for refund. So, my advice would be, don't buy the cheapest. May need to use 8GB or 16GB SD as a maximum capacity.
hello, I just bought a sony a7ii and it's my first camera, if you could make a video to explain how you activate eye detection for photography and how it works, I would be very grateful. Thank you
Too old eh? I use an AE1 from 1978. Also a 5D mkii and mkiii and an Olympus OM10 fron the 80's. With older shots I have to look at the lightroom meta data to see what camera I was using. Lately I've been using a Canon 50D, 15mp. $100, 487 shutter count. I can't tell the difference between the 5D's and the 50D.
I have both and there’re amazing! You’re spot on! Great video! Thanks for sharing!!
Never get rid of that camera if its still working. NEVER
I've binged on a ridiculous amount of photog vids, and IMHO your photos show the Canon 5D Classic with this lens to be an outstanding combo. Would be even at twice the price! Oh, and beautiful instruments........Sound and Vision
I consider it a special purpose camera. It is great for portraits and very good for landscapes. It provides RAW footage as long as manual focus is not an issue.
Just picked one up for $375 Canadian as my first real camera. Really excited to learn how to make the most out of it
As of Oct 5, 2033 it will be 18 years old. Still a great pick up on Ebay. However, the price is a bit higher since videos like yourself have done a good job of getting the word out.
I picked up a 5d2 a month ago. Love it! The Classic is a great camera too.
The useable ISO range on the 5d was horrific.
It is after all the person behind the camera that matters the most. Also, as mentioned always the quality of the glass is extremely important.
loved it great work... do more videos
How did you get no dust in the lens? Mine had some big dust particles in the front element after light use over about a year. I was able to disassemble and clean it recently though.
This guy seems like a pretty smart guy who shoots straight. Totally subscribed. Reminds me of Alpha Destiny.
Hey dude, that's a great video, thanks!
Can't believe you didn't mention the total lack of any auto focus function in video mode as part of your review. Love my D5 mk2 by the way. Use it with Tamron 28-80 f3.5-4.5 and 80-210 f4.5-5.6 AF lenses with superb results. Lenses cost £40 for the pair and body was £229 for near mint, little used example with 6 months dealer warranty, 3 batteries (showing max health) and a fast Canon charger and wide Canon 5D mk2 dedicated neck strap. Also have Nikon AI-EOS adapter with aperture control lever for fitting my Nikon 20mm f2.8 and Adaptall 2 lenses.. like my wonderful mint Tamron SP 23A 60-300 f3.8-5.4 (£20), Can't wait to try it with my Pentax SMC 70-210 f4 too (£34) which produces stunning results on the Pentax K-m with 10MP CCD sensor. These later manual lenses allow for distance scale focusing while shooting on the 5D when tripod mounted.
Yes it is; my 5D is great!
No deep pockets! LOL Just ordered, love manual when can use. Totally agree on when to use auto, especially when subject is moving. I use a stabilizer with gimbal a lot. Thanks!
Good. Cheap. Better than a Mk3 I reckon.
Just bought the camera I’m excited to start my new journey in real estate photography I appreciate the content …👍🏽
Thank you for this. So we are in 2023 now. I'm newly trained in real estate photography. Would you still say this camera is okay for video tours? I have the zeiss 16-35 lens. Thank you!!
I just got a 5D MkII with 29k shutter count for $220 from MPB. Just for stills. Buy a $200 full frame and spend all the rest of your money on high quality glass.
How are the SOOC images? With Fujifilm, the jpegs are so good that I rarely spend any time in post with the RAW images.
how many bateries do you have for that A7 ? 15? :) yeah , sony has good cameras , but i shoot a week with 1 battery on 5D , sure i dont shoot 1000 photos , say 100 , family photographer , but i feel i would need at least 4 for sony
If you’re shooting video, yeah I’d stock up on a lot. But when I was shooting weddings with it, I’d only go through 1.5 batteries on a full day.
This is amazing! Exactly the footage I was looking for. I have an fx3 & was looking at Slr magic lens. They look promising
Great to hear! I think the FX3 and SLR Magic makes a solid combo for sure
Why shoot landscape wide open with high iso? You'd get better results with something like iso 160, f/8. Just my opinion. Try it out!
I wanted the higher shutter speed to freeze frame the water so I had to compensate with apeture and ISO. That being said, I personally like the higher iso on these cameras since I find the grain to be pleasing. Thank you for the comment!
Still using it
Love to hear it🤘🏻
Mirrorless cameras are to electric guitars, as DSLRs are to acoustics 🤣 Loved the video
Haha thank you!
