For more than 40 years, Wheelabrator has called Saugus, Massachusetts home. While Wheelabrator is the largest taxpayer in Saugus, we have worked to be more than a local business. We have worked hard to become part of the Saugus community. Wheelabrator looks to help the community in any way we can. We do this because Saugus is our community too. Wheelabrator Bridgeport: 25 Years of Renewable Energy in Bridgeport, Conn.
Don’t forget to mention the toxic ash that is buried
interesting they didn't mention the incidents that sparked the state lawsuit... the state says they dumped thousands of gallons of ash into the river and wetlands. such a gross company
THE NOx levels are nothing to be proud of. such a bad neighbor
people should stop taking wheelabrator money. instead, they should use that money to rebuild their malfunctioning and underperforming incinerator and maybe invest in some linings for their ash dump. it's the only unlined landfill left in the state. such a shame there's so much corruption
sketchy old Zambuto. such a corrupt and unethical politician
that place is a very sketchy polluter. not only does it have an uncovered and unlined ash dump blowing ash everywhere, but the incinerator is underperforming and has to buy emissions credits to compensate. the people who bring kids over there to play golf are exposing them to cancer-causing toxins
Sketchiest company ever. But they give people money so they turn a blind eye
that "monofill" is an uncovered and unlined ash dump. ash is blowing around. in fact, there is 2 years of air monitor evidence showing that large quantities of ash are reaching as far as revere
those marshes are in rough shape. the company allegedly dumped 8k gallons of ash sludge in them in 2009 and got sued for it by the state. their ash dump is also uncovered and ash is blowing. all around in west Lynn, east Saugus and point of pine, revere. it really isn't safe to visit their pretend nature preserve
should people be visiting a "nature preserve" next to an uncovered ash dump and underperforming incinerator? it seems like it would be pretty unhealthy. let's not forget people who live in close to proximity to the facility have high rates of cancer, asthma and birth defects
they are blowing ash everywhere. their ash dump is unlined and uncovered, blowing ash all over Saugus, Lynn and Revere. high rates of cancer and asthma
that's an underperforming waste incinerator. it has to buy credits to compensate for its excessive emissions
it's interesting that they didn't mention any of the safety incidents at their Saugus facility... such as when they allegedly dumped 8k gallons of ash sludge into the wetlands. this company just tries to greenwash people any chance they get.
wheelabrator Saugus is a bad neighbor. their emission levels are through the roof. and I'm not referring to the time they were allegedly spewing ash through a hole in the roof of the facility, although that was bad too
Zambuto is a sell out. He always appears at their events and repeats lie after lie that the company feeds him.
I worry about the kids. that facility has really high NOx levels and is next to an unlined ash dump
they are out of control with the propaganda. none of these "spots" mention anything about their high emissions or that time they allegedly dumped 8k gallons of ash sludge into the wetlands and got sued by the state. or how about when they had a hole in their roof and ash was spewing out of it?
they should stop dumping there and instead expand their wildlife sanctuary. if they keep dumping there, it will just be a pyramid of ash with no use for anyone.
I hope there aren't any more fires, breakdowns or ash spills while those kids are visiting
disgusting and unethical company. their "nature sanctuary" is something they were forced to create after all their environmental violations. the wetlands will never be the same.
disgusting company. anyone who takes money from them should be embarrassed
wheelabrator gives money away to distract people from their breakdowns, spills, fires, etc. they are an underperforming incinerator and don't meet modern standards for nitrogen oxides
Nitrogen oxygen levels are super high. the new proposal would only bring them down to 175 ppm but new incinerators operate at 45 ppm. the win facility is underperforming and is a danger to our communities
You should be promoting your facilities all around the world, so we can get to using 100% of our garbage as fuel to generate electricity. Then use the end stage ash to mix with concrete to expand the actual size of island nations like England, Ireland, Japan, etc.
With all the "greenies" wanting us to get off of fossil fuels, now is the time to promote WASTE TO ENERGY facilities all around the world! We should be using 100% of our garbage as fuel to generate electricity!
You need to post some updated video's ! New York needs to build at least 50 regional WTE facilities, to use 100% of its garbage as fuel, to generate electricity!!! Then, the residual ash could be mixed with recycled, ground glass and plastic, to mix with cement, to make a low cost concrete for construction!
no. we should replace these with zero waste policies.
With Russia cutting off its supply of oil and gas to Europe, now is the time to sell the idea of your facilities, all over Europe and Asia! The resulting ash could be mixed with recycled ground glass and plastic to mix with cement, to make a low cost concrete for construction use!
You forgot to mention the 2009 state lawsuit. "At the Saugus plant, the state alleges, a broken filter allowed 8,000 gallons of ash sludge to spill into the parking lot and nearby wetlands in September 2009, Wheelabrator failed to notify the state in a timely fashion as required by law, and the company then excavated wetlands without state permission. The state lawsuit also alleges that a hole in the roof at the Saugus facility allowed ash to be emitted into the atmosphere and that tanks of waste water were emptied into the plant’s parking lot and surrounding wetlands."
propaganda and lies! wheelabrator is killing our neighbors and the marshes
Great video
Do not rent a room at the Avalon motel in Saugus. Someone broke into my nieces room and stole $800. They didn’t care. There are no microwave ovens to heat your food and there are mice there. The Avalon motel is a bad place.Whoever reads this spread the word.
I don't know what to say accept Thank You.

Like the idea of turning waste into energy. We will run out of land for landfill and lest us not forget the gas the waste gives off. Behind the project 100%.
Take some info about energy on Avasva . It was very helpful to me :D
