Tammy, Thank you. This is a message that I seriously needed to hear over 45 years ago. Back then there was no language that correctly described being, Trans,.

I relate to the trans woman so much. I'm a trans woman too and I always struggled with my gender identity, I felt so much depression and pain trying to repress myself. I'm crying typing this remembering how much pain I was in. I knew for a fact that if I ever told anyone, my family would disown me. They did when I finally came out. I tried to commit suicide twice because of how alone I felt, and when I saw the trans woman in the video, well it made me not feel alone anymore

I can’t believe this project is over 10 years old now. It Gets Better campaign really gave me hope and soothed my fears. It Gets Better by Google employees was one of the first ones I saw and it made me feel normal. I wonder where these people in the video are now with their lives?

It Does No one Any Good That it gets better when it doesn’t. Coming Out In 1985 yielded Me Nothing. I wasn’t Ashamed of being gay, but my Opportunities just stop. Even with my Love of history I couldn’t be a teacher, it was legal to fire gay people. Being a waiter was literally my only option, even with education. There were no academic options in 1985,. Now I spend my life wishing for another chance that isnt going to happen. “Life is What You Make of It” is a tired platitude. It doesn’t always get better, sometimes it just, gets, Bitter...

What rubbish. You don't tell a pre teen or teen who is being bullied or tortured in school or at home for being gay or even different daily Oh yes in 5 or 10 or 20 yrs it will get better. They need help and a solution now. They need to be told where they can go and who they can turn to and if the help they are asking for is not being given what they can do.This movement is like saying oh you have Cancer well maybe they will be able to cure it ten yrs from now so just deal with it until then.

I almost hung myself. School was crap. Home was crap. I always heard negative comments growing up. I'm 34. I came out at 28 ish. Took 2 bottles of wine on the second attempt. I finally attended Pride for the first time last June. I finally got my first Pride flag that I proudly display outside of my house.

I wish these people every happiness, but IT DOESNT GET Better. In 1984 I lived an out life, and more than anything else I wanted to be a history teacher. But it was legal to fire gays, and that pretty much left being a waiter or a hair dresser. Yes, my family was accepting, but I could achieve my goal because I was so obviously gay. I have spent my life wishing I could have followed my heart. Now, we’ll now it’s too late. It Doesn’t get better, be strong because it gets worse.

Guess what kids? It doesn't always get easier. It might but as you grow older in the gay community you get ignored. You get attitude. Everything focuses on youth. So forget it when you're over 30 and don't have partner. Feeling suicidal? Call the LGBT suicide line at the trevor projextm. Oh wait, you have to be under 25 for that. So who else should I call? Well there isn't a lgbt suicide line. Because after 30 you're nothing in the wonderful supportive gay community. So enjoy your 20s kids. It does get easier. Good luck after 30!

What bullshit. Is this what you have to offer to our youth? "It gets better?" PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stay away from children and anyone who is being persecuted or anyone who is in trauma. Try to imagine and have the LEAST bit of empathy for others. Someone is being DESTROYED and then you all come running up, dancing around like idiots, whispering, "It gets better." That is ALL you have to offer? I can imagine you all at a car accident. Running around, flitting from victim to victim, "Oh," you say, "your neck is broken . . . well, I am not going to do anything real to help but to offer you these august words . . . it gets better." You are all such idiots. Why not ACTUALLY do something as you preen and lilt about? Here's an idea . . . . go up to the bully and tell them to change their ways. Clean up that mess. Do SOMETHING. Do ANYTHING other than stand there with that stupid look on your face making promises about things getter better that will NEVER come true. This life is a fight. And unless your willing to civilly do your share, please leave us alone with your empty and stupidly selfish words. It's like this; if you see a piece of garbage on the street PICK IT UP AND DISPOSE OF IT PROPERLY. Don't just stand there saying, "It gets better." and then self-righteously walk away wondering how selfish that piece of garbage is for not taking care of itself.

It does get better. I was beaten up in middle school almost every day. Kept me up throughout my middle school years. Things started to get better in high school. As a teenager, I tried to hang myself on my living room chandelier but was interceded by a visitor. Do not despair, the boat is filled to the brim with gay teenagers. I am now a lecturer and library celebrity. If you are thinking of a way out, don't do it, there's a beautiful horizon waiting for you filled with joy and success. You are just five minutes from the miracle.

Sodomy is perfect?----what nut would imply sexual depravity is perfect? There is nothing inspiring about a man's anus being penetrated my an erect penis of another man. Add fellatio to the mix.You need not be religious to recognize sexual depravity in all it's forms.Biological fact-----The anus is not a dual function orifice.

Just rename it Gaygle , this company has more gays than a male pissoir in a public park after dusk . I should have fucking applied for a job there . But jokes apart , i think it gets better from the straight community , though straight people today are becoming far more tolerant and open about gays today than gays are about gays (except for Lesbians who prove one more time that women are smarter) . It will get better when you grow up and then if you want a love life or a sex life or even a social life, you will start getting into the scenes (whether it is the real one , bars and clubs and gay associations, or the internet one) and then it'll get worse . The discrimination within the gay so called community is far worse and far more brutal . Whether you're ethnic, or regarding your body type, your age, your wealth, your social background and status , who you know and what circles you're in, even your religious beliefs . I think when you're a white , young, handsome, rich, fit, masculine guy, things not only get better , they get great . If you're fat or skinny, ugly, ethnic , with not much money to your name , effeminate (and not interested in drag), things get , well things get a bit like "out of the frying pan and into the fire". Today's statistics show that there are far more gays attempting suicide from rejection by the gay so called fucking community than there are gay attempting to it due to rejection from the so called straight world . I was lucky growing up , things were never really bad . I knew how to fight and needed half a reason so nobody tried to come for me about my sexuality , i come from a rather wealthy family but importantly i was raised by smart parents who couldn't careless if i was gay as long as i was not going to turn into a utter dick or asshole (you are what you eat) . I am also Scandinavian and was never really called ugly by anyone so i had it easy before and after i came out of Narnia . But my husband is Japanese , and before him i was in a long relationship with a great guy from the Middle East and before him with a fabulous black drag queen who taught me everything there is to know to stay alive and navigate that jungle that is the gay so fucking called community . And they all had different story . It didn't get better for them . It got harder , they were already exhausted facing prejudice from their family, their so called friends, their school , their country even for being gay and black, gay and asian, gay and fem or a queen , gay and and Arab or muslim and now they had to face discrimination from within the gay world for everything else beside being gay . They had to fight even harder , and still have to , for some of them . I think for some gay people , it has to get better twice , and the second time is so much harder than the first . Being a minority that is look down at within the gay community is far more vicious and painful than being a minority outside this community . Because being rejected by a community you try to belong in, is far more cruel than being rejected by a community you don't really want to be a member of . If you have 30 minutes to spare in your life do this simple test . Get the picture of a fit white man , then a picture of a skinny or fat one and create a profile for each of them on a dating or fucking gay site and see how many hits they get . Now open three more profiles with an average looking black guy, an asian one and a middle eastern one (choose a name like Mohammad) , and another account with a drag photo in the profile and check out how many hits your get within the first hour and then within a week . Except in real life these are not made up profiles, these are real people , So try to put yourself in the shoes of the ones who get 3 hits in a week and twenty hate comments , and then i dare you to tell those people that it gets better . Nice video but i think it lacks a bit of accuracy . It doesn't get better for everyone , for some it gets worse . And all the guys who work at google seem to be a little too attractive to really be an exhaustive panel of candidates to really tell how it really gets . So no kids, it only gets better if you are smart and toughen up , get thick skinned , and more importantly pick up the crowd or tribe you really belong with, the one that really appreciates you for who and what you are and doesn't judge you with just one look and leaves you on the bench . You don't have to become a Ken doll and if you have half a brain and don't suffer from Stockholm syndrome , you shouldn't want to belong to a clique that looks down at you . Find your own tribe and if you can't find it , create your own, that's how it gets better (regardless of the gay or straight community, it works with both ).
