I like the naturally aspirated 4.0 V6 in my 2015 better
@@time_of_yer_life_eh_kid I’ve never heard of a 4.0 6 cylinder disappointing anyone, sounds like a keeper ;)
The transmission isn't a MINOR issue though.
I said it was?
That turbo 4 will not go 250k miles. lol
@@oxidize99 only time will tell
Don't see them that often? This is the best selling midsize truck in America....?
I live in rural mi, therefore all you see is the big three. Also these trucks are pretty new. Now if we’re talking about clapped out 2002 Monte Carlo’s I bet I see more than most of the population 😂
Definitely Chevy guy trolling Toyota fan boys . We deserve it. The Tacoma and Toyota in general is a dumpster fire state.
Every brand goes through it
Believe it or not, I have some electrical issues with my new Toyota Tacoma TRD...... it started to happen within the 6 months I got (Less then 5k driven). Luckily, I got it fixed under the warranty but had to do some Battle against the Dealership that sold me the car...... Hopefully, this won't happen again.....
I hope you don’t have any more issues
People just repeat what they hear, they don't take the time to learn. We used to think ignorance was lack of information, nope- people are just lazy becuase the information is out there. To think that Toyota is not intentionally moving the Tacoma more upscale and they got it wrong, are silly. If you don't like the new Tacoma, that's ok move on and get something else. Tacoma is going to be fine. I am tired of the whiners on every Tacoma video. Go get the Frontier, Chevy or Ford.
Yeah I’m very surprised to see all the hate this trucks receiving. The truck is so new how could you possibly tell if it’s unreliable or not if they make 100,000 of these and 1% are terribly unreliable then people will only talk about that 1%. From my personal experience and my friends that own these I’ve heard good things
Engine problems sir lol
I’m not 100% sold on that, the trucks new and who’s to say we’re not just hearing about the bad cases. Definitely could see it both ways though
worst tacoma ever. $50K price tag for an unreliable turbo 4cyl
Just seems like if you want a good vehicle anymore used it the way to go
@@Bmstaudy i genuinely cant believe that they stopped using one of the most reliable 6cyl engines ever made for a turbo 4cyl that has less than a 10% increase on gas mileage
@@landenkeller8218 starting to see a lot of manufacturers doing the same thing unfortunately
How is it unreliable? Please do tell.
@@M85Iroc I’m wondering the same thing
your friend bought an unreliable truck lol ...i bought this truck a few months ago and the engine started knocking :( the new motor is garbage ...buy the tacomas 2022 and down or the nissan Frontier please save yourselves people
Did you ever find out what caused it to knock
You should bet all your money on that new Tundra reliablility!😆
That’s what I heard 😂
I would take my Second gen over this any day of the week. I was just at Toyota this afternoon and the service mgr was yeah don't buy any of these new ones . Not a good sign.
It sucks that a lot of companies are being forced to redesign their engines
I would bet all of my money on it, and will to try and afford this.
It’s not my truck, how could you possibly guess the longevity of a vehicle other than its previous success?
Its a 4 Cylinder I dont care how many turbos you throw on it. It will always be an over worked 4 Cylinder. I have a V8 GX460 and the engine is never searching for power and never sounds over worked. They should have offered a naturally aspirated V6 option. Thats why people loved the old 4runner/Tacoma. SIMPLE reliability thats what made Toyota great.
I agree but to an extent, I’ve never owned an i4 vehicle, but agree they can be overworked. Toyota is known for their reliability though and there really isn’t a perfect cylinder number
@@Bmstaudy Toyota WAS known for their reliability. 4 cylinder overworked engine in the truck made in Mexico by workers making under 3 dollars an hour.
Tell you’re getting paid without telling me you’re getting paid.
God forbid someone has an opinion on something anymore, so much negativity
Post a update video at 250k miles. 4 cylinder turbo charged. Not sold on the longevity of turbo charged gasoline engines. Nothing is built to last anymore. Throw away society now.
I’m more optimistic with Toyota than the majority of the other brands but I agree, I would buy an early 2000s diesel before anything
@@Bmstaudy I see so many 20+ year old V6 Tacoma's on the road. Why change the formula that brought you so much success!? Ford ruined the market for all vehicle classes. "Green" technology. This is about the bottom line. More plastic, wires, hoses and less metal. Sorry about the rant!
@@ryno488 no need to apologize I agree with you 100% I wonder everyday why gm discontinued the 3800
250k miles? Lmao i always sell my vehicles at 150k miles. even the v6 tacoma, at 250k miles, you're already looking at a minimum of 1 engine replacements
Every vehicle off the lines different, I’ve owned 3 3800s with over 250k on original drivetrain
I'm 68 years old i have had my tacoma TRD off-road now for 2 months now it's the best pickup I have ever had i had 6 toyota pickups so for and this one is the best
I really think they improved this truck in almost every way from the previous generation!
Old Timer please shut these trolls who knows nothing about trucks lol. Do I agree with the price ? Hells no. But yeas I agree with you sir . Hands down best Tacoma truck outhere. If not midsize world wide .
Cannot justify paying $50k+ for a turbo 4 banger and cloth seat…
The new car market doesn’t give the consumers much of an option anymore, and my friend works for Toyota so what he actually paid for the truck was no where near 50
the v6 was slow as a slug, i was able to test drive this one and it's 10x better in terms of performance
What do you think played a bigger factor the transmission or engine
“The last affordable small truck”? Bro it’s literally the most expensive one it’s class by far. For 5 more thousand you can a ranger raptor which is significantly better (a Toyota guy saying this btw) or you can get a ranger with the same specs as this for around 40-45k. I’ve always loved tacomas but this one just isn’t it.
You’re right, and I didn’t address it correctly in the video but I meant for the base model it’s one of the cheaper options
Perfect how? It’s overpriced and they don’t even feel like a truck when I test drove it. Felt weak when I hit the gas. Not to mention let’s not forget it’s made in Mexico and the 4wd is the worst version EVER. And don’t forget this is this biggest exodus Toyota has ever had with more Tacoma owners switching to other brands than ever before. We get it you got buyers remorse. Toyota lost me as a customer after that test drive.
It’s all just a matter of opinion, this isn’t my truck. From my experience the people I know are happy with their trucks
I’m just gonna go ahead and state that your comment is almost 100% BS. Sorry to tell you, but the new truck is better in every single way, as it should be… it’s got more power, equal or better fuel mileage per tank, has a better interior, sounds better, and looks better (I know these last two are more subjective, but that’s my opinion). I owned a gen 3 trd OR premium and that truck was more expensive than my current gen 4… don’t get all the extra crap you don’t need and they don’t cost any more than any other Tacoma ever built (accounting for inflation). Don’t get me wrong, I liked my gen 3 a lot, but after having this one for 2 months now, it’s just a better truck, plain and simple. It seems the trendy thing to do these days is to go online and whine about things you have no clue about or no actual interest in using yourself. The Tacoma is doing just fine, and if you have been paying attention, you’d know that ALL new cars are expensive these days, and interest rates are also very high.
@@kevinbradley8613 I agree with you these trucks have been getting a lot of praise at least from what I hear
@@kevinbradley8613 If that’s the case then why would you pay 65k for a truck that doesn’t have nearly the options as what the new Colorado zr2 ? I have owned numerous tacomas and it’s funny how much of you guys are fanboys for a brand that is underwhelming. My first car was. 91 4Runner. Your preaching the the choir my friend. You too will soon realize Toyota doesn’t care about its longtime customers
@@Canyon04 I wouldn’t pay $65K… as I mentioned… you’re comparing top trim levels. My new truck was $44K, trd OR, manual transmission, no gimmicks. It’s a sweet truck. My ‘22 trd OR was nearly $48K when I bought it! Don’t hate on something you’ve got no actual clue about. If you don’t want a new truck, don’t buy one, or better yet, buy one that you do want! It’s pretty simple. Toyota isn’t the best company and I’m no “fanboy” I’ve owned all kinds of different vehicles over the years and enjoyed most of them. Jeeps, VWs, Nissan, Subaru… my father worked for GM for 40 years, I grew up with chevys. They all make nice vehicles! Even Ford lol. I’ve driven and used a few f150s over the years for work trucks. Unfortunately, they are getting more expensive, but that’s more OUR fault than the individual companies. We demand more, they give us more, and it costs MORE. If you’re comparing the top trim Chevy, ford, and Tacoma… no questions, I’d probably pick the Chevy or the GMC (same trucks basically), but I don’t need something like that, and most people don’t. Spending over $60K on a midsized truck is crazy to me, but if that’s what you want, go for it. It’s more for bragging rights than anything else, but I’m not hating if that’s your thing. Keep what you’ve got if you like it. Saying the new taco is underpowered tells me you’re not serious and you definitely haven’t driven one. I’m not making it up when I say it is literally better in every way! It has a smaller gas tank… I get the same miles per tank as I did in my ‘22. Moot point. Everything else is an improvement. Frame, transmission, motor, suspension, interior, even the fit and finish is better than my gen 3 (also built in Mexico btw).
Does opening that good and seeing a rats nest not disgust you? I bet even mechanics look at it like “WTF”
It’s not the most appealing thing in the world, kind of reminds me of when the bronco came out
😂 people whine about the plastic covers, they remove the plastic cover, people whine about not having covers now… and on and on! I wouldn’t have minded if they’d kept the cover, but who actually cares?!
@@kevinbradley8613 this truck just seems controversial but I guess every vehicle is anymore
Bro is trying to put a bandaid over the 50k cloth interior price tag 😂😂
I have no bias whatsoever. I think it’s a cool truck and that’s just a matter of opinion. As I stated this isn’t my truck but also in my opinion it’s better than spending 90k on a diesel. Thanks for the comment I hope you have a great rest of your day
@@Bmstaudy I spent 53k on a 2024 Colorado ZR2. Just teasing. But the Colorado 100% isn’t worth that price tag either. It is a better deal that these Toyotas I’ll tell ya that much
@@Vec135 if you’ve seen my other videos you might have noticed I’m a huge gm fan! I love the Colorados more than anything and the zr2s the most what engines in yours?

Can't tell if this guy is trolling or what. Most expensive truck in class that has been on the market for a month, yet its the most affordable and is somehow guaranteed do 250k. Okay bud.
If you get the cheapest version it can be an affordable truck, and tell me a Toyota that has been unreliable, nothing certain but I’m confident in these trucks

Look up crash tests on this car. ☠️
Just don’t crash 😂
As long as you avoid hard launches from a dead stop the new transmission should last at least 250k or more. Might want to change the fluid and filter on it at some point if you plan on keeping it for awhile. It’s a Very Rare car at this point I would recommend keeping it for years to come! Very few Buicks lacrosse supers left with v8 engines
That’s the plan everything looks good currently every year they get more rare
I think if james brewer tuned your super, it might achieve close to 5.7 seconds in the 0-60 run! Depending on tires, road surface, air temperature too. Cooler weather these cars will feel like they get up and go a bit quicker vs any warmer day. A hot day say 90° and humid it would take a bit longer. But loving the car! Glad we're twinning! 🤘🤘
Yeah the 0-60 from the manufacturer is pretty impossible to achieve! Love these cars though thanks for the comment 🤝🏻
@@Bmstaudy No problem! 😊
Something about a naturally aspirated V8 in a sedan…having 8 cylinders firing away, unmolested….is fantastic. Hoping you keep this car for awhile.

I would recommend it. I’m very happy with the car so far, it’s been a great daily!
I have a regular 3800 LaCrosse but I think these are better cars than they got credit for at the time. I mean GM spent the money to give it a dedicated stereo head unit which was a big deal for GM once upon a time. They made an effort to make it a nice car.
I agree the supers seem to have held their value the most consistent of all ls4 cars and I think the luxury helps. I love the lacrosse 3800 I just sold my le sabre with 270,000 on the clock. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Great video. Had no clue these came with a V8.

I agree, really doesn’t look too assuming. Thanks for watching!
I saw the same car on fb market place in my area milage is 235k and it already had rebuilt trans done. But now it needs another rebuilt. At the Current milage. So my question the guy is selling it for $1100 is it worth buying 🤔 and if so how much do you think a rebuilt is a second time ? And is it worth doing at that current milage? Thanks in advance ☺️.
The price seems pretty decent, although if you can I would still attempt to talk to buyer down a little more. At that mileage though I would check for any excessive lifter noise, and I know the camshaft position sensors on these are know to go bad and are difficult to replace. To rebuilt the transmission the previous owner to my car spent $3,000, and that’s money you’re not going to get back. Honestly I would be hesitant just because it’s hard to know all the previous maintenance and what’s been done/ what needs to be done. Don’t let me talk you out of it, if the car is something you really want, but I hope this helps!
@Bmstaudy it definitely helps I appreciate it thank you for the info.
Hello Staudy, I am telling you a story about a Corvette and a girl. Once upon a time there was a girl, and she owns a Corvette. But then, a kidnapper came to... KIDNAP THE CORVETTE! The girl is really worried. She is worried that the kidnapper may hurt her Corvette so the girl called the cops. The cops arrested the person who kidnapped the Corvette. The girl decided to keep her Corvette safe. She decided to lock the Corvette in a garage, to keep the kidnappers out. The Corvette has a scar on it's wheel. The girl's Corvette had injured itself, from getting kidnapped. The girl and her Corvette finally parked to a large hill but then, the Corvette fell into the lake!!! The Corvette was drowning all of the sudden, the girl said ''I don't think I should ever park a Corvette on the top of a hill ever again.'' Suddenly, a very large boulder hit the girl and then the Corvette!!! The girl and the Corvette were both badly hurt!!! An ambulance came for the girl to take the girl to the hospital. Then, a truck came to tow the Corvette to the garage. And that's it. That's the end of this story.
What a horrifying story
I agree with you, Staudy, that story does sound horrifying.
Also, it's really a tragic story.
