This makes SO much more sense! For Starlight anyway. Sunburst’s background was somewhat ok because it seemed like he was afraid to go back home as a failure after everyone praised him & expected him to become a wizard. This in turn stops him from contacting Starlight. So yeah. A little believable. On the other hand, Starlight’s OG backstory was meh😒 Like you said, there’s trains, balloons & carriages in Equestria as well as postal service. She could’ve done any of that to contact him, but instead stays home & sulks & blames cutie marks for it. Before going super psycho on Twilight trying alter time & fuck all of the world up just to spite her. Lame. Your version gives it a meaning that helps us to better understand Starlight’s reasoning & makes Sunburst a much deeper character. I mean the show is all about friendship & making connections, but it seems they just wanted a rival for Twilight. Love this❤. Awesome😊

I'm personally a fan of Starlight. She's my favorite character in the show and while I don't mind her cannon backstory too much, I don't mind hearing the ideas of other people. I really like what you came up with! And the art is quite nice as well, also enjoy you rewriting Sunburst's backstory here, too! It gives both characters more depth, which I always enjoy. Very nice job!

And yes, I get it's a kids show, but I wish the writers for mlp would have given it a bit more of a rocky road with more depth to the story, rather than mistake -> apologise -> Everyone happy.
