Arriva North West 4644 (CX15 BXW) - ADL Enviro400
The last of the 8 ex-Chester Sapphire spec deckers, this one had to wait a while for a new engine before coming to Southport. Thanks to said new engine, it may well be the fastest decker I've ever driven! The power delivery is insane and almost instantaneous, allowing for some incredible thrashing. Ideal for yet another dead run to Crosby Islington for the 47s.

Another dead run to Hall Green but at least this time, you'll be able to see what's what. Helps that 4566 is one of our better E400s. *Not sure why the frame rate has tanked on this video. It recorded perfectly fine so I can only assume there was an issue during upload

One of the recently transferred sapphire spec Enviro400s from Chester, which I just happened to have transferred myself! They've been quite popular with drivers for their mostly solid performance, and with passengers for their comfort, large seats upstairs and not-so-rattly nature. 4642 is by all means, arguably the quickest of all the E400s we've brought over, happily managing some 60mph thras...

A rather nice surprise in 2979 was my bus for the dead run to Maghull last week. A nice surprise as normally, this bus isn't particularly great but was driving very well. Sadly, I've only been able to capture sound as my camera mount failed almost immediately. I was going to scrap the footage but decided to make use of the sound. It's better than nothing, right? *8:45 onwards for the really goo...

Guess who's back? 🥳 Yep, after 3 months off work with a shattered elbow, I'm back at it, doing what I do best. This time around, it's a dead run to Woodvale Orchard Lane for the 49s and I had 2959 for it. This bus had been up and down in terms of performance for some time but thankfully, it's a belter of a bus at the moment. So much so, it may well be our best Pulsar at the moment! 😁

The last bus I drove during my loan spell at St Helens belongs to Southport nowadays, and I can safely say it's still as good now as it was then. If only I'd had it for a better dead run. No matter. I still managed to make this bus sing on the dead run from Carr Lane to Canning Road after a day of 46s. *3:07 for an absolutely insane kickdown

The last of the 49s to finish at Gleneagles Drive gave me the chance to put 3018 to the test, which has had some work done to get it back up to speed, similar to when I first drove it during my St Helens loan spell. 2:22 for an insane kickdown to 50mph on the coast road, just to showcase what this thing can really do! *Also, apologies for the footage being rather, erm, off. In my haste to quick...

Scotrail Class 334 - Onboard at Uphall
For power, 4644 has always been a rapid vehicle. Until this year, it used to shortshift to the exact same rpm as 4640 (only a lot quicker), but we sorted it out in February following a short loan up the coast to Rhyl. Since then, it’s been an absolute belter, and I’m glad it’s retained all its power. Great video as always Matt!
@welshbusenthusiast2210 We've been lucky with most of these deckers honestly. There's only 4639 that has been something of a disappointment. The rest vary from half decent to incredible! 4640, 4642, 4644 and 4645 (when it's turbo pipe doesn't keep coming undone 😂) are all insanely quick!
@ 4639 wasn’t often a good runner down here, at one point it was very quick in the mornings and got slower through the day, but at least you’ve got better! 4640/44 were my personal favourites when they were here.
Both Of Them Have The Same Sound, Nice!
Shame this is always on locals
Forever my favourite bus❤
Was one of the nicer examples at Chester this one, just always had its ups and downs. Least they're rather decent for your depot
0:11 why does it sound like class 319
It's the track texture and the wheels rolling causing vibrations. It's not the actual train . Sometimes rails are grinded by specialised equipment or a specialised train that grinds tracks. Probably for de rusting. Idk. This leaves a rougher texture. It may also be for the train to grip the track better but again. You'd have to research, your guess is as good as mine.
I sometimes heard it from a pendolino by the way@@gapthemind--mindthegap8524
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Mine does the same, can't figure out when exactly. Summer and winter, sometimes it does, sometimes not. Only cold starts. Also own a gen4 petrol. It ALSO has high idle starts, but they are 1500rpm, dropping to 800 rpm after about 20 seconds
Can just about hear the high revs 😂 Sounds like this was getting bullied with the jerk/pedal trick!
Sounds ace
I miss arriva livary for trains because I live in wales
Nice one Matt, glad to see you’re back to it after so long! If you’re after a belter of a bus, just wait until you try 4640 CX15 BXR upon arrival, that thing is genuinely mental for power; it was the quickest in Wales! Great video as always, keep it up and can’t wait to see more!
Nice video
best video on youtube
Ah yes, before you were asked to come on the Palatine
I miss these on the 362, they had great kickdowns unlike these E200MMCS That are all yellow apart from the odd red/blue go ahead, Great video
I did a class 91 freight servcie 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rip flybe
Terrible buses for condensation on the upper deck. And the 475 is a nicer route to Ormskirk (and a better test of your driver ability on those narrow country lanes through Bescar)
Awesome! I assume it is the Armstrong Powerhouse 68.
What does it say if it is not ok?
Fire system pressure aint ok
Yes, I'm sure it would
It wouldn’t do its route
In other words, the engine wouldn't crank and start
@@KeithJones-yq6of it fire system pressure ok IT SAID IT IN THE TITLE
These pulsars are so loud you can hear the engine perfect even if you sit at the front
mental bus🤣 best pulsar i’ve ever seen
Proper bus Drove these at yellow buses but with the Allison gearbox
The daimler version seems so much quiter I havent driven one yet
Voith gearboxes are my least fave to drive almost my nemesis
Love a zf e400 Despise voith e400 To drive and listen to the zf is best
Am in uk and also have a 2014 mazda 3 2.2. Your dials are completely different to mine .
his Mazda it's most definietly newer
0:11 my personal favourite bit of the pulsars is when the driver revs the bus to build air pressure.
It's called choke, all cars do it especially if it's cold
I love this part of the chiltern line
Too bad there is just 1 commander left
This one is an ok one
One of the nicer ones these later Pulsars feel different than the earlier ones, I would guess they are slightly different to drive. I've not got around to riding these since Southport got hold of them.
Wow
Brilliant pal I rode this a few weeks back on the 58. Still sounds great and I’ve never heard such a loud voith in my life
I was on this before from Liverpool to Bootle, its a good bus
🗣🗣🗣
thats great sound
CAF Duo!
Nice video mate! Pleasure to meet you at NWVRT
What a great run! Have you had a chance to drive any of the Volvo B7TL ALX400s yet?
Thanks! I've only driven the one B7TL which was the training bus (8300). By far and away, one of the best buses I'd ever driven! I only wish I'd driven them in service when they were at Southport years ago.
@@TheFlatCapFromWN5 You never know, you might be able to drive one at St. Helen’s if you’re still there!
@Welsh bus enthusiast Unfortunately, 4110 was transfered to Chester shortly after I started my loan spell at St Helens though to be honest, I doubt it would have mattered since it was almost exclusively kept on the 31s and I was only cleared to work 352s, 395s and 37s. I have been asking about covering Rail Replacements in the future though and Bootle still have a B7TL which does occasionally see action so I may push for that instead. 😁
@@TheFlatCapFromWN5 That’s a good idea. Rail replacements with a B7TL would be brilliant. Most Rail Replacements use motorways as well, so you could get a good run out of one.
Very limited skeleton 🩻 service station 🚉 in Coombe Junction halt near Liskeard, Cornwall, southwest of England 🏴. 😀 👍
Nice one mate! I'm glad to see you back out on the road and filming again, I recently filmed 2582 as its due for withdrawal it the start of May so you can come and see it if you want but I'll definitely have to come and ride 3090 one day
Totally normal. It’s just very cold outside
no. it works only from 15degrees + (celsius) if it's colder, it will not rev up like this
Some good topodyn on this, and a brilliant run to show it off too! Great video.
A
Nice bus and nice sound of the bus
Thanks for sharing amazing pics
This is just normal. Mine does this too.
He's just showing a video of it.
@@GOGO2482 this is a video of a car starting up, not sure how we got to the topic of female psychology. while there is some logic behind what you're saying, such as beautifying themselves, acting with love and care, or being submissive, there seems to be a lot of holes in your reasoning. First off, hormonal balances are fluctuated by more than just a menstrual cycle, so it cannot be regarded as the "whole of their psychology." you are generalizing female behaviour as a whole here, which doesn't entirely make sense either. Not all females think from the perspective of their own internal struggles, although, again, there is some truth and logic behind this opinion as well. The correlation between blood and beautifying oneself makes no sense to me, but I take it you are trying to reason with the idea of compensating for some sort of "hardness" or cold behaviour exhibited by males on average. bleeding and insecurity makes absolutely no sense to me either. and your message is cut off. lots of holes in your reasoning here, but the general concept you are trying to bring across is almost there.
