Ali Jordan-Brown wrapping a small sage bundle in Psychic Gifts on the Embarcadero, where her "Ali's Herbals" line is carried. I harvest the white sage on the hillsides of the Cuesta Grade in San Luis Obispo, California.

This is the first video I made, before I was able to upload videos over 15 minutes. All the clips were shot in September 2011 during our visit to our friend Jeff's hacienda in the Mayaguez area of western Puerto Rico.

This series was very much groundbreaking in Television in terms of Camera movement and blocking of scenes...the use of off camera lines and handheld photography was something that was shunned for years in TV, but this series made excellent use of it. Many primetime dramas like Hill Street Blues, LA Law, Law and Order, Toma were influenced by the fluid shot making and camera work and shotmaking. Apart from the subject matter...It's what separated this series from everything else that was on TV at the time.
Who is she she’s gorgeous
big difference in students 55 years ago even TV ones
I used to watch this when I was a little kid. I loved it!
So did I as a kid. I still love it, and have been looking for a long time to find it again. This is so great and brings back many wonderful memories. Among other things, this makes me remember just how much I absolutely loved school!!!
Kaufman plays the heavy here, but you know he wanted to help Richie as much as Pete and Liz did. In the end, they all worked together to find a workable solution to make a positive difference for a great kid. That is what educators are supposed to do!! 😇
I used to keep the TV guide of the lineup somewhere.
Mr. Dixon's demeanor was so outstanding! You can tell he really cared for his students. I just loved how he talked to his students like a teacher, a father, a counselor. Teachers like him are practically extinct these days! ❤
Did any demographic audience have an issue with the premise of this show? I'm asking because of the issue that the Black audience had with the sitcom, Julia, starring Diahann Carroll.
Thank you for posting. I loved this show. Thank you, thank you, thank you.❤
Thx!!!
I'm here to see a young Gus Portokalos..😊
Ya, the guitar at the beginning is everything plus the flute!
How many people came here from Vinnie Marino’s yoga class? Room 222. Now please do three Bs on your own.
Denise Nicholas is such a beautiful woman, I just love when she smiles.
Wow she’s always been pretty 🤩! Even on heat of the night
COVID Christmas Eve 2022 Spending a social distance Christmas Eve to myself searching for classic tv shows from the past. Happy Christmas to you all.
Love episode and Richie was an amazing student.
Love this show and cast
I remember when this show was on. I was 7 at the time. This show was ahead of its time back then, and could talk and get along.
Yes. It was a model of classroom cooperation and what makes a good teacher. There were classrooms like this back then. Back when student to teacher ratio was much higher... It was the history and government classes that were a haven of free thinking and free speech.
The more things "change", the more they stay the same. School districts is the best way to keep the poor poor. The more things "change", the more they stay the same.
Did anyone else get here from the Google definition of gaslighting??
I remember when school was respectable like this.
An in-depth discussion of slavery? Wow! That wouldn't be permitted in any red state today. Mr. Dixon would be fired; the text book banned; and the P.T.A. meeting would devolve into a Klan rally.
Karen Valentine is such an adorable puppy. Would have loved to have her following me around all day.
i missed these shows thank you for bringing them back😊
Didn't know Mr Whipple the Charmin paper towel guy was on this show! Please don't squeeze the Charmin!!!
Alice Johnson ...... apologizing for being "white" and people are still apologizing ( for being white ). Things haven't changed much🤷
Why was I about to cry when I thought Richie was going to go back to his old school?
The last time I saw Lloyd Haynes on TV was in 1980, when he was a judge at Miss USA.
With people James L Brooks and Gene Reynolds how could you miss. Too bad they wouldn't spend the money on remastering, negatives from 1969 are not faded, it's just an old print.
Some very powerful performances in this first episode. A lot of conviction went into the writing. From today's perspective, American society seemed then to be changing for the better, but slowly. It's a stark contrast.
""Seemed"" is he key word.
I think it was a better time in America.
I had almost forgotten just how stunning Denise Nicholas was back then. Karen Valentine was cutie, but Denise was a true beauty.
one of my favorite shows in fact , I taught English in H.S for 5 years
Yep the imaginary cat in the elevator routine🤣
I loved this show and Look NO GUNS or COPS just figure!
This video is all the more poignant because he is slipping away from me because of dementia. I need these memories!
Dam she was Smoking 🔥
Good LORD that opening theme SUCKED....I can't believe Jerry Goldsmith wrote that.
i miss it when teenagers wore clothes.......................
Too bad they don't make more simple tv shows like this today!.
Wow Bill Gillespie's girl works at this school ( teacher) 🍬
My high school was more like Tyler only it was the only option.the good day was not getting beat up or threatened with a knife
Thank you for this post. It was great then and even better now.
1969 - 1974
In 1969, I was 8 and KNEW that I wanted to teach. My friends and I mimicked Karen Valentine's hair and clothing. In 2000, after being an acute care nurse, I joined the nursing faculty where I had graduated and taught for 18 years. Now, I'm back in the frontlines in the hospital during a pandemic. This time, I teach patients how to take care of their broken hearts (and other body parts). Watching Room 222 tonight reminded me of our days of innocence in the U.S. American life is so ugly now. To the soul who posted the video, thank you for this little gift.
When tv was entertaining and well scripted as opposed to the reality trash we see now.
Even back then the writers of TV Drama saw school choice as a subject to advocate for. They saw district boundaries as an injustice and as a segregationist issue. Where are all the current "Woke" people on this topic? Of course the woke people would rather side with the self serving teachers union instead of doing right by the students. The wokesters have all of this talk but they are unwilling to help stamp out visible concrete prejudice.
This show imaigned the possibilities.
This show made me look forward to HS until I got to HS.
