I have written eight songs in a new musical - (script written by my creative partner - Emmy Award-winning writer Dev Ross) that we were commissioned to write by the Sedona Historical Society. Literally every thing you mentioned as the advantage to corporate ski environment - slower lifts, lighting ridge cat, capped (affordable) daily ski visits are all in the process of changing/have been ruined already. I dont care if some New Yorkers want to buy up some stupid terrain like Marys/Cobalt but the owner is ruining this gem.

It’s still my favorite ski resort bar none, but worse than the loss of Mary’s Bowl and half of Cobabe Canyon has been the change in culture over the last 5-6 years. It’s just not the friendly ski hill it used to be.

I went there in January and the main lift was broken, and then there was a power outage at noon after a big storm which kept powder mountain closed. Still kept skiing fresh powder all day by skinning up!

I love sundance a lot and grew up skiing there, but they have recently gone down hill since they sold. The New owners haven’t been doing a good job at keeping it local. The advertising team does a little too well of a job, there was multiple times this last season that i got turned around at the entrance of sundance due to “full parking.” It is a very small resort with very limited terrain and not many possibilities on places to expand. Oh and don’t even get me started on the new lodge. I just hope Sundances owners wake up and realize that they can NOT compete with the big resorts such as Snowbird, Alta, Park city and more. Stay small, Stay local
