Why Sound in Gaming is SO Important.
jjjacksfilms submission :)
sound design and music are two of the most important variables in a game, today i wanted to talk about just how important i think it is that a game has good sound design. it doesn't matter if you are in a menu, running around, or even just taking in the scenery, there is almost always something to hear.
thank you guys so much for all the support let me know what you want to see next!

Why (most) Games Fail at Immersion.
Просмотров 9 тыс.Месяц назад
As someone who has been gaming since they were five on their mom's phone with Cut The Rope. I've played more games than I could count. I've played almost every single Mario game, every Far Cry game, and every PvP game you could think of. And a discussion a lot of people seem to talk about is immersion. In one way or another, every game that tries its hardest to be immersive falls flat in at lea...

I just finished your “why most games fail at immersion” and it was so good I decided to watch some of your old videos, and I think I just found a hidden gem in youtube, bro please continue uploading videos on youtube more people should watch your videos they are a work of art, Im recommending your channel to my friends
i think this guy likes doom but thats just my hunch
i mean its alright
You were getting shot through the grate not the ceiling, also i know Civerz and hes 100% legit. I dont know his teammate
i’ve talked to him since then he said he wasn’t hacking but his teammate was
Pvp games are typically a lot more fun when you're able to get better at them
I think you’d love Hunt Showdown it’s got the best audio ive ever heard in a videogame. Its got the music the guns everything you mentioned in the video. Great video by the way very underrated channel. Edit: if youre interested theres a video called “Hunt Showdown: an auditory masterpiece”
The sound design in titanfall 2 is PEAK Feels powerful, unique and iconic
this is the most underrated shit on youtube, keep cooking
Man Punch-Out sucks, who would ever play that game
The finals is a great example of greatt sound design
Totally agree, I really wished the finals had a high player count, that game is underrated af
@@Soernq this season numbers are pretty good, it never dropped below 300k across all platforms, but yeah on steam it's really underrated and it hurts.
UNDERRATEDD
i honestly have no clue how c418 replaced a picture of chris pratt
lock in, a new 6pho video dropped
sound design is just as important in video games as it's important in films. you can have nice camerawork but if the sound sucks then the whole thing sucks
You can use a compass on red dead which is way better than the map because it doesn’t give you a lot of information but it still shows you the way for missions and waypoints
nice video!
great vid bro glad to see the potential in someone else’s eyes
this guy is a swabbie who watched too mcuh fuzzybond
@@ItzFoxUwU haven’t heard that name in awhile 💀
game looks kinda cool i think i will buy it
this game is pretty good
😭
Cool to see this game get some love, we need more players.
Sick as video my dude, we all appreciate you for putting more light into this shitty game xD.
real
W video
bro cooked with this
Fate of morning star was literally a diamond in the rough it took only like 35 minutes each time (yes gold curse was my second curse my first was the order curse)
What. Finished the video and realized you have 300 subs
For example, War Thunder. Let’s be realistic here, most tank engage from far far far distance away. Most divisional commander are smart people, these type of urban engagement would never happen (it’s not ideal). You see, game like Enlisted and War Thunder having this close quarter combat take away the immersion. War Thunder’s map was more immersive, it’s addicting when killing a enemy tank from medium to far distance away, most the time I get knocked out first, but when I do score a kill it’s addictive. The map size is ideal, but the terrain takes the immersion away. Back to point 1, most of these engagement rarely happen. For example, Eastern Front, the Marder III typically engages from long distances, you rarely see them in close-quarter urban combat, it takes the immersion away beside for Battle of Berlin. Tank to tank battles should fit the setting like German vs Soviet tanks, and the map should be large too. It’s boring but it keep the immersion of that’s the price one must pay ☝️
game is just dogshit bc of the community, sot players have too much time, in hourglass u just play double gun never board and play as passive as possible, outside of hourglass everyone chases u for 5h for a level 1 emissary flag but once u turn they again play as passive as possible bc they stocked up on wood and cannon balls and fruits so they will just try to outresource u in the most boring "fight" ever, legit these people have no lives and if u actually have friends or a partner or parents or you know any person in real life that u want to spend time with and maybe even have a job or any responsibilities the game is just not made for u bc people will force u to take a 3h fight over nothing every time they see u
@@luqey_2470 ong my friend and i got chased after just spawning in with a base ship and a level 1 reaper
I feel pretty much fully immersed in most games that I enjoy playing. Maybe it's just easier for me personally to feel immersed in something I enjoy, but this isn't a problem for me and most games I play do a pretty good job at making me feel immersed in them! 🤷♂️
Really enjoyed this video man thank you, and keep up the great work
Rdr2, minecraft, A short hike, outer wilds. best games ever made.
Wait 400 subs!!! man the quality is insane good job, i enjoyed every second❤️
deserves WAY more views ngl
Sound design is a huge aspect of immersion , half of the time I was scared to death when playing silent hill 1 not because monsters sure they are creepy it was cuz of sound design I was so freaking scared one time I had to put down the phone and take a rest my heart was bounding so fast that day. In war games like ww2 games if sounds of guns explosions etc mix well together then congrats you just made a very immersive ww2 experience a good example of this is sudden strike 2 having superior sound design to sudden strike 1. Sound can make or break a game or any media.
Keep up the good work man, love your tone of speaking, im excited for the next one
Okay I just saw Batman Arkham Asylum on here and there's no way you're gonna convince me that game isn't immersive as hell
asylum is in my opinion the most immersive in the entire trilogy
Wow thank you for bringing attention to this, play it every day
This is a great video essay on how game developers have lost the way and forgot that games are meant to be fun first then immersion. A great example of a game that ultimately fails at immersion and fun is the 2024 attempt at a Test Drive Unlimited open world multiplayer game developed by KT Racing and published by Nacon entitled "Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown" with dull and lackluster game content, no cross platform/cross server multiplayer, and the game world have no life at all. Sadly I am done with modern games that gets released after countless delays to only have an unfinished and unpolished game on launch day that is always online without cross platform/cross server online game-play. I feel like we are going to experience another game crash just like the one that happened in 1983 but on a much bigger scale with AAA/AAAA Games.
Subbed!
I liked this Video
The only game i sharted my pants was system shock 2. Nothing even comes close when you think of immersion.
Fable 2 had something similar to the gust of wind but it also had a minimap
Man you should play Life is Strange. The original one from 2015. Peak immersion in my books. Makes you feel like you're actually living the life of the protagonist. Easily the best game I've ever played.

How is this channel's subscriptions still in the triple digits this is great
That soundtrack is freaking good!!
Real good and well edited video! I personally don't care too much about immersion (I personally rather better gameplay if anything), but this video does make a lot of great takes. Also idk if you said this in the vid but you can just disable the map in red dead by holding down the honor button or instead can replace it with a compass, I don't do it a lot but it is a fun way to play.
Glaze it
I liked the video the second i saw outer wilds! Its my favourite game of all time too
Sometimes youtube suggestions are really really great
you are insanely underrated for how high quality this video is I do NOT deserve more subscribers than you, I hope you make it some day
