Gypsy Days is my second season favorite. The Gist of the Gemini is in my top 5 albums of all time. I so wish he could perform any one of those songs in his concerts. Seen him several times. Brother to Brother with Metropole Orchestra is my anthem. And I'm a woman.

A gifted man With 1st world problems. He discovered what is behind us and ahead of us and all around us is beyond all understanding. And what happens to some people when you're gifted and young you can catch the perfect wave the very 1st time and be connected and free all at the same time. And yes if you do not understand that the wave does not last forever then you can lose yourself Because you do not know how you caught the 1st wave. So you live in the here and now that you are unhappy and you search and in searching you develop skills that eventually let you catch the wave again. Yet it might not be the perfect wave. It's just a wave you catch and you stand up on your surf bored And it feels good but it's not quite right. So you end up in an endless search for the perfect wave and you forget about enjoying the waves you are on. Then you forget that perhaps you are just here to entertain us with your gift. You get trapped into thinking there is something more about you. The endless search for something more is just as destructive as the endless grasping for power and money. Or fame. Or success. Sometimes you're just supposed to be here with the rest of us. Develop the skills to wait for the perfect wave so you can catch it. It is a search for the inner calmness that allows you to wait for the perfect wave and catch it and ride the edge of your surfboard while being free and connected at the same time. And then having the courage to put in the time to wait for the next perfect wave. And you may be here just to entertain us. How bad a life is that? And what's really funny about know is that he is living 1st world problems. This sounded more like high school anxt about who am I and what am I supposed to do and what does it all mean. It is time for him to grow up. He is not the only one on a quest. It's just that we are not being interviewed And we have long since dropped our high school angst.

You do realize that this interview was almost 30 years ago when the was in his early 40s. Furthermore, his personal quest for a spiritual connection could have just as easily expressed by a man or woman getting married or divorced, having children, or finally purpose in a career that may not be as lucrative or what they even went to school to study. Careful not to be so critical. The point of the entire documentary is that even when we THINK we know something, life will happen and teach us lessons that we thought we'd mastered.

I grew up listening to his music, practicing my reading looking at the liner notes in great detail on the albums (pretty good for a 4 year old) because my mom listened to him and loved him which, of course, made her children love him as well. We graduated from Alvin and the Chipmunks by age 3 and whatever mom was listening to, we listened to. I can remember as a very small child trying to understand the meaning of his lyrics and read them over and over, asking questions, going to the dictionary and whatever else I had to do to comprehend his messages. Fast forward to 1991 and I was now 21 and although I still loved his music I was firmly entrenched in the grunge scene. I saw that he was coming to town and my mom hadn't seen him since the 70's, so I got tickets for her birthday. We had a wonderful mother daughter bonding time and after the show, I walked backstage (I already looked like I was in the business at the time, so no one questioned my being there). I saw Gino politely talking to a group of men and I got the feeling that he would have rather been leaving then talking, so I poked my head into the circle and said, "Gino, we're waiting out front for you. " in an attempt to "save" him from his pow wow with these people. To my surprise he said, "Ok! Excuse me gentlemen. " and followed me out. I should mention that I told my mom, still reeling from the show, that I was going to bring him out to meet her. She thought I was crazy as she watched me disappear into the crowd. I came back in just enough time to walk through the crowd, say what I said and bring him out to her. I'll never forget the look on her face when I had Gino in tow. She had to pick her face up off the ground! From there, we invited him for a drink, but he didn't embibe at the time, so we went for tea and dessert instead. He answered all of our questions and even shared tiramisu with my mother! There's more to the story, but he was a perfect gentleman and invited us to be his guests at his New York show two weeks later and we repeated the tea and dessert experience from the Philadelphia encounter. The pictures we have from those experiences are our prized possessions. Whenever my confidence is low, my mom reminds me of the time I had the confidence to go get Gino Vanelli to meet and hang out with us.... I have met and interacted with many famous people since then, but he was the first and by far the best of any famous person I have ever known. Thank you, Gino! Mai-Ling and Bo Morrison

My guess is that he had some sort of tribal or indigenous experience in Peru, although he doesn't say that in the video. I feel like ayahuasca ceremonies were available to foreigners even as far back as the 70s although correct me if i'm wrong. Maybe he saw entities and experienced time out of time on the higher plane, which is definitely enough to shake a devout catholic to the core.

Excellent encounter. Thanks to the interviewer for letting him express as much as he did. There is a truth in everything Gino. The thing is people are looking for THEIR truth and not THE truth. The truth does not adapt to us. It is not like a glove that fits perfectly. Truth often is not what we expected but if we really looking and value it, we will accept it for what it his and adapt to it and will set you free. (John 8:32) I am very pleased to ear it counts so much for you.

I believe when you leave yourself open to all the religions, and cults of the world, it is dangerous, and you can become possessed very easily. When Christ was on the earth, he constantly spoke of, and cast out demons. What made you believe you needed to be exorcised? Did you experience evil after exposing yourself to so many religions? Now that your older, have you come full circle? because you wear a cross all the time I noticed. I consider Catholicism to be a man made, religion, with many contractions to what the Word really states. Some manage to find Jesus despite it's falsehoods, but for most, it's just a way to feel clean and get rid of their guilt. It can lead people away from a real relationship with God. Jesus became our high priest, the bridge to God. We can go straight to him now, and don't need priests other than to pastor. You notice there is no other religion in the world that offers a God or prophet, who took it upon his own shoulders, to pay the price needed to be paid, and ransom us back from evil. We still live in an evil world, but the holy spirit lives inside of us and guides us, revealing the true heart of the awesome creator.

He is the 2 rams and I am the 2 fish...no one would believe me. A generational musician, parents as well...Example...I asked a question...typing it out on RUclips...HE ANSWERED MY QUESTION TO A GUY NAMED MARK, WORD FOR WORD...not live...as I was placing the period at the end! Happens all the time with everything...this one 5 days ago. This is normal for me. But that's so small in comparison. It's a different world with God in charge...a personal relationship with God. If you are not with anyone for 20 years like me...hiding out, choosing to be alone...OMG it's like being a nun but totally different. I go both directions as well. I choose, but my circumstances rule. Oh yes, Buddha ...what an experience that was. And Rajneesh? Remember him? My deceased husband got me in to him...that was scary. Scientology was sac religious .

Very interesting to see and hear this side of Mr. Vannelli. I've been a huge fan of his since Powerful People. After Nightwalker my interests went elsewhere, as I was more fond of his grandiose, jazz-fusion and classical style compositions. I believe everyone is spiritual, it's just a matter of reconnecting with our source, as separation is present and future spiritual death. Gino has always been spiritual even in the midst of carnality, as have we all. So, his search is not surprising to me. I am happy that he undertook it because carnality for it's own sake is quite miserable and is void in the end. For me it meant separating myself from what I was largely taught about Christianity through people's hypocrisy to meeting Jesus, his followers and the various prophets, through the bible, for myself. Then I became convinced that Jesus was/is someone for whom what he said would make no sense except that he were actually divine as well as human, and the things he said resonated as truth as deeply as my awareness of my own existence. I'm not sure where Gino is but that's where I am. Peace.

I read about most of these events, but hearing it in his own words and seeing some of the snapshots of his life was even more endearing and enjoyable. I drove up from Naples and saw him in Clearwater this year and I feel like I was in a dream the entire concert.
