If Queen Margrethe made the changes because she was concerned about the budget, she then made the right choice. It is my understanding she has told the Danes if they wanted to demolish the aristocratic monarchy, she would do as they wished. This country does not have the budget to support a large family and she didn’t want Fredrick to be forced to make this decision. I feel she abdicated because of her health and felt she had enough time to transition the family into the new roles. God Bless her for these changes. I know it must have been difficult!

Prince Henrik makes me respect Prince Philip much more. Dispite an occasional gaffe, the prince was always supportive of Queen Elizabeth Il and never sought to be co-monarch. Whatever advice/criticism he may have offered was always done privately. He always observed perfect royal etiquette in public, at home and abroad. Credit to Queen Margarethe for stoically putting up with her husband's public hatefulness. Certainly very painful and humiliating. 😢
