    Outstanding presentation! We just bought a DeFever 44OC and although the POs have extensive maintenance records, this give me plenty to examine come May when it comes out of storage. Early on you were taking about fuses in the 7-40-72 discussion. It was hard to discern what type you suggested. Was it a "G" rated fuse?

    Wow I just ordered something like this for the house windows from Amazon but it is delayed. I am wanting to treat the house to stop the reflection from burning the landscaping this time of year but I think I will try it on Juno as well. We are also noticing significant heat build up inside the boat even with window coverings on the inside. need to stop it be fore it gets in.What brand did you settle on in case Amazon can't deliver?

    Makes the windows look like microwave oven doors. You should mess with people and put pics of bags of popcorn, hot pockets, etc behind the film. ;)

    stretch wrapping booms/headsails/mast for roller furling rigs is good and will also secure running rigging at the same time. most sailboats have loose banging rigging on a good day so im sure all of that chafes thru in any sort of storm.

    its early in the video and you are at the wind speed/pressure explanation and i am thinking that these insurance companies that require you to haul for a named storm are crazy. What is the pressure on a 60ft boat out of the water, id rather run out of the area and anchor than sit at a dock or be hauled for a big storm.

    It looks like you have better access to the mounts than aboard Juno..May be due to different Tranny. There was no getting to the bolts on the engine. So, while my exhaust ws removed getting new hard coat and blankets made, I jacked up the rear and replaced the mounts. Not as precisly as you have done but you are the master wee all aspire to be someday. thanks again for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Kirk N4646 Juno

    antifreeze is ethylene glycol.....pickling solution is propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is not toxic to humans, whereas ethylene glycol is. Definitley need to get all that ethylene glycol out of the system.....but it is much easier to find and cheaper.

    Don't make the fiberglass fit the base of the engine mount perfectly. If you do so you will lise footing if you ever need to adjust the engine sideways, which you will eventually someday, if you are going to bother to align the engine to the shaft that is, which you must do after installation of new engine mounts

    • @boatersdivingguide
      @boatersdivingguide 4 месяца назад

      Thank you for your comment. If you watch the new video you can see that the fiberglass shims are about 3/16 of an inch bigger all the way around the base of the mount. I have plenty of room to move the mount without cantilevering over the edge. I can also move the shims because they are held in place with only clamping pressure from the mounting bolts.

      Thank you for your comment. Tracy and I talked to many people who didn't expect full-time cruising to be so much work. That is why I try to show the realities of what it is like to work on a boat. Sometimes a 30-minute job turns into a two-day ordeal because of a broken bolt.
