Life before Tony Blair was actually pretty good.

I'm from America and I visited London in 1982. I remember riding in the big spacious black Taxis and shopping in Piccadilly Square. I also remember not seeing many Black people I'm sure they were somewhere I just didn't see them. Times have changed with the influx of immigration. It appears that colonization has reached your shores? Chickens coming home to roost per se.

So where have they all gone then?🤔

Ah yes, the good old days when London was a British city, with British values. People had respect for each other back then. No migrant gangs, no (or very few) halal butchers/restaurants, Mosques, pro islamic/anti western marches or hooded thieves on electric bikes, and a police force that kept control.

Wow no refugees in sight and everything looks safe and secure, not like today’s London, Labour has sure screwed up the country in the 1990s

This is the London I knew! Wonderful, accessible and safe. And fun! British people lived on London. Wouldn't go near the place, now.

Not going to leave a 'when England was' comment; refreshingly I'm going to focus on the Statue of Eros. Did you know that in 1922, it was removed from the centre of Piccadilly Circus, and re-sited on one side....to allow for the rebuilding of Piccadilly Circus Underground Station (the one we know today). Before this, the Tube station was Edwardian looking, not Art Deco. But back to Eros. It was re-sited in 1922....then moved back to the middle of Piccadilly Circus in 1948. There it stood until it was re-sited again ....back to the side, in the late 1980's (1988 or 89). It has remained in this position ever since. Personally, I'd like to see it put back in the middle where it belongs....and have only buses and taxes use the road around it. Cars are too big now, and should be banned from the entire zone 1 of central London. Some cars are now bigger than black cabs!
