1995 Volvo 850 Base with a 5-speed. I will miss this car an absolute tank.
Somebody’s been watching some RCR huh? Good video, awesome car.
Yeah I need to stop watching RCR then reading Ernest Becker in one night lol glad you like it!
They make great daily all weather tanks after addressing a few factory issues via upgrades- metal impeller, metal coolant fittings, red top coils, silcone hose kit, and maybe clean up all the rotten vacuum lines with that 4 part smog delete kit. Really easy to hop up as well, the 225 really responds to a tune and cheap bolt-ons.
@kennethfrazee2540 true it's a 20 year old car after all gotta do all the things and she do be quick
It seems that the Golf IV is the base of the TT 1.8T. Golf R is more near to the 3.2 V6 TT ;) Anyway, great vid since I own my 225 bam since years. And yes, often the nose under the hood, or crawling under the chassis, replacing some bits here and there 😅
Sometimes she can be very difficult to work around for sure.
Chassis is supposedly 90% Audi but I can't get past the shortened and squashed Beetle looks, like the karmann ghia approach.
@kennethfrazee2540 mostly audi but you know how vag is it's all vw at the end of the day
The Audi tt 😊 is an awesome looking sports car. 😊😊
I agree she's a beauty.
I own a 1999 silver TT simply because I love the styling doesn’t matter if it’s a 150 or 180 or 225. Just look at it😛😛😛 mine has done 50k miles from new and yes it’s a Quattro 180 . Don’t care I love the look and people still look at it.👍 Mines now 25 years old and it’s addictive.
That's good to hear! I've noticed that I'm not the only one that drives the hell out of my TT which is so cool. Shows these cars are actually unique!
nice video !
@@atomicman3893 Thanks!
Good video , did you do a video on the blend doors ?
@tonybates2105 I didn't unfortunately. But I will say use foil hvac tape it's way easier than trying to use plugs and silicone. Also with tape you don't have to take the whole dash out I just took the glove box and the front (radio, hvac controls, vents) I just opened it and fangled it on to the door.
@portersspeedshop2779 thanks, that's a shame , I can't find a tt specific video on here, any more detail / tios on this please
@tonybates2105 ruclips.net/video/aiB_g4XNbHI/видео.htmlsi=RBAOH56Zi4dLGzM8 humble mechanic is pretty good. Once you get to the doors you just have to cover the holes everything else is just dash removal. I also use the Bently publishers manual both on this repair and every other. Trust it's worth the money. www.amazon.com/Audi-TT-Service-Manual-Manuals/dp/0837616255?pd_rd_w=Q5a7t&content-id=amzn1.sym.8316a2b5-cd70-46ae-8cd3-b6d53778915d&pf_rd_p=8316a2b5-cd70-46ae-8cd3-b6d53778915d&pf_rd_r=7DT7AW0FSGVDZG1S5T7S&pd_rd_wg=WSfTU&pd_rd_r=38326544-c69a-4e87-8697-120e176f2bb4&pd_rd_i=0837616255&psc=1&ref_=pd_basp_m_rpt_ba_s_5_sc
Liking those wheels
That thing is very nice for a super beetle. I have a 1967 bug I’m resto-modding
I've seen a few resto-moded near KC with that ford v6. What are you putting in it?
The mark one audi tt is a stunning classic sports car 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Ive got an 2005 Audi tt 😊 in jet black 🖤 absolutely stunning. Owned it for a couple of years. 😊 lots of parts available in the UK 🇬🇧
Honestly I might take a trip over just to get some parts 😂
I've had my AUDI TT,brand new since 05,and it still puts a smile on my face, and people even come up to admire it...happy days. U.K.
@michaelwhyte6070 That's sick you still have it! When I was in the UK I could def tell this is a lot more popular there. Cool stuff!
Nice love story....glad you two have gotten together!!! Enjoy!!! You mentioned HVC "Blend Doors", How about a video on theory and their adjustment?? Thanks
@pauliEcord7622 I appreciate it! If I ever have to take the dash apart agin I'm thinking about doing a video on it.
Thank you for the wonderful video, I didn't expect it to go that direction at the end but it was exactly what I needed to hear. I have a 2001 225 TT that I've been holding onto, even though not everything is going as planned in life. I had to use the TT as my family car for a couple of months, the ex took both family cars when she left moving 800 km away and I was left with the kids and trying to hold as much of the old life together.
I mean people laugh about the back seats but they are there! Sorry to hear about the ex taking the cars I hope it works out for ya man!
Had my Avus silver BAM since July 2019. Driven every day, 24 miles round trip. Never fails to put a smile on my face, whatever the weather. I play 80s tapes on the BOSE, sounds great. I think my TT is a keeper as a second car now as it needs some serious work on the suspension and paint. Good video, the comments are my experience too😊
Glad to hear! The BAM is the faster one too I think I'm remembering that right. I also occasionally pop in a tape just for the fun of it.
Awesome video. Love the balanced view of the Mk1! Just picked up a clean low mileage spec 2004 in dolomite Grey. Btw what are the blendors you mentioned for the hvac system? Did you do stage 1, you recommend?
great video, a mic would make it even better
@@adtvchannel3 very true I need one
It's a shame you can't get the part's. In the UK these are being broken all the time and second hand parts are readily available
I have had a 2003 TT roadster and now have a 2004 TT 3.2. I absolutely LOVE these cars. I appreciate your video.
So should i get it really love this Audi TT Mk1 and the bmw e46 3 series specifically cause the m3’s are expensive
@misternoobde3768 I would obviously recommend it especially if you find one in good shape. It's definitely a ton cheaper than a bimmer and in my opinion more unique. Little stage one tune some wheels some fluids might be just as fun as an m3!
@@portersspeedshop2779 yes actually agreed, I was getting one for 1500$ with paint chipped issue and interior leather was a bit bad like some places were damaged it was the 1.8L Awd(225hp) convertible but then didn’t get the time to get it and was just going to get my license (now looking for one I hope I find a good one at a good price)
'66 Mustang will be done in 2 months or so. Would love to have you review it if you want content buddy! Chanel is gonna grow big. Keep it up!!!
I'm so down that would be sick!
hell yeah man, with this filming quality i bet you can make a whole documentary about a car all by yourself
@moathalhawari6862 Appreciate it! I'm pretty happy with my solo camera work I just need a full size tri pod now.
the audi tt is a fun car
It's super fun definitely a fun daily
I’ve had a 2000 TT Quattro for 16yrs. Not a daily, but share all your feelings, love the car…
@josephdonnelly3169 Glad to hear! I hope to drive mine for that long I feel an obligation as the second owner.
finally a honest review
I love your review!
I loved this so much. Thank you! 🤍✨🤍
Well said, summed up perfectly what I feel is the beginning of my journey and approach to an ‘04 TT in Dolomite Grey Pearl. Previous owner cared for it meticulously and saved some room for me on the odometer with only 80k to date. Happy to be here, lads.
You talk too much
What year is this car? My first car was a 73 super Beetle which this car shows characteristics of yet also show that of a 74 as well. My car was also orange with black custom painted 8 spoke empi wheels as well as many other upgrades. This car reminds me of my car which I miss dearly. Enjoy yours My brother!
Mines the same lol it's a 73 super the windshield and dash is what gives it away
Strange. Mine had vertical grills on the lower front end and silver trim around the black grills behind the rear quarter windows. Your car would look killer with a 5 panel wink mirror and baby toranado side mirrors. I had them both and a two piece bra as well real black sheep skin seat covers.
Oh yeah by the way, mine was also orange!
@@stevemcdowell1674 I shaved the front grill and the front turn signals for a more smooth look
Nice beetle, i have a 1963 ragtop i love these cars since i was a kid. Where can i get a steering wheel adapter for my car? I have a custom steering wheel, just like to get an adapter like that.
So I got an adapter for the factory 3 bolt pattern to a standard 6 on Amazon then you can use any nrg quick release. If you want to have less peices you can also just buy a whole new hub with the standard 6 bolt but it's more work. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07GQ7K9PT?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
My 1970 beetle caught fire high up in the WA state Cascade Mnts on a old logging road. While it was burning, I put my foot on the front dash for bracing and ripped out my tape deck which was installed in the glove box. Next we hustled our packs out of the back seat ( we were on a climbing trip) seconds later, the car was fully engulfed in a mushroom cloud fireball as the gas tank exploded. We hitchhiked home. The next weekend I drove up to see what was the left. The engine block was melted and window glass all melted. We rolled it off a cliff and and the insurance company didn't believe my story so they paid me off ( 1,100$ ) and then dropped me from the policy without explanation. Good times in 1978!!
The 70s sound wild 😆
Dude, love your videos, always a bit dramatic but fun as hell. Now regarding the new engine, congrats, it's amazing! May I ask you how much to rebuild it like that? Btw, keep posting the videos, you are really good at that!
Mad thanks! I was a theater kid after all 😅. So I can't garentee price obviously but I just had him build me the long block as I had everything else and that cost 5k. For some context just the parts for the long block is 3k hope that gives you some idea.
Excellent narrative on what life is all about, love the VDub, too ❤
Dude. Why are you being a wing nut. Pay attention. Test! Come on now
Lmao I was trying to impress a girl no time for diagnosis or "paying attention" pfffft
tidy car mate sketchy how to low the oil lines hang down
I like to live life on the rasor edge
I’ve never been able to get my head around how anybody could ever spend one single dime on a Volkswagen that was made after 1967. It’s just absolutely unfathomable to me.
I have owned a 1971 Super Beetle for over 20 years. To date, I have spent over $60K on it. Today 100% EV and Tesla-powered. Whole lot of fun.
ENJOY LIFE
That's what it's all about!
It doesn't go 125? I had the 180hp one an it did 140 The 225 max speed is over 150mph.
Well that initial run was on the failing factory fuel pump so it was limited. I got it to 130 the other day but past 5k rpm it accelerates too slow for any road around here. No good perfectly straight highways around me unfortunately.
@@portersspeedshop2779 Makes sense still I thought it should be faster but probably doesn't matter that much for you in the US isn't that speed like almost double the limit your allowed to drive?
@robinnautica9773 Yeah she's old and a daily can't push too hard. Also speed limits around here are more of a suggestion 🤫
@@portersspeedshop2779 Haha okay that's great. Im lucky enough to be in the only country without speed limit so I drove my TT at 130mph everyday from and to work. Was my favorite car of all time looking to buy a 225 Quattro this summer again so exited for it.
@robinnautica9773 That's sick I'm def a little jealous of any country with less speed limits.
In Australia the 1973 1303 Superbug was known as the Superbug "L" and the colour was called Dulon "Riverina Orange".
That's dope I just looked up the color kinda wanna paint a car with it lol
From 1970 to 1972 the most popular colour for beetles, superbugs and type 3's was Dulon "Honey Brown". (Amber)
I personally don't think the yellow ones are that ugly, I got a model die cast super beetle when I was younger thats yellow, that colour is the first that comes to mind when I think of beetles. Nice work on your bug, looks sharp in orange!
Thanks! I agree that they look good in yellow. HOWEVER the yellow that was painted on mine was painted by what I assume was a blind man. It was so bad 😆 drive.google.com/file/d/1QiqFcAmIgyuguaUzWp7TTzGE5IOwVMGb/view?usp=drivesdk
Carl Sagan hablo del Universo...éste monólogo del ©©©TT és lo mismo.😊
Honestly I love the look of the first generation, but if I could retrofit the second gen headlights on the first gen that would look beautiful
I would agree the mk1 body lines are def the best and the mk2 lights are nice I'm not gonna that'd be a sick retro fit
This video is a great response to the foolishness of the “hairdresser car” critique that circulated at the time. Those critiques now look increasingly dim and dated, especially in contrast to how well the car’s design has aged. It won design awards for a reason. It’s beautiful.
True that
Mine was a 1966 vw fastback TL , it went out the window the day i got me a good woman n 2 lovely kids 😲 👏👏👏😂
Hopefully I can keep both 😅
What brand are those headlights?
They were some variation of these I don't remember it's been so long: www.jbugs.com/product/EIS-251.html?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAi6uvBhADEiwAWiyRdpE-EFn19P7yJYJoHTrFdxkEQDoJnDrEMLw6v6mrDg2_ztmc0lIZ5RoCaJkQAvD_BwE
Wow, I own a 2003 green one. 225 horses and 6speed manual. For the first time I hear the perfect explanation as to why I own it and spend money on it ❤
Glad to hear of another TT lover! It's worth the extra bit of cash for sure.
I have a 19 year old TT that I've owned for the last 8 years and i completely agree with you turning to look back at it once you've parked.
That's how you know the love is still there!
Don't know about the wheels but love the video
It's an aquired taste glad you liked it!
My wife and I went through the same experience with a 72 Westphalia. We spent a whole summer rebuilding every aspect of it. 18 years later we saw her drive away for the last time. And no the engine did not blow up even with a 140k trouble free miles. Super video! Love the color!
Lucky its definitely not my driving blowing it up I swear 😅! Appreciate the kind words.
