I felt primarily despair in this scene, since I wasn't sure if I can trust him after all the talk from Kendra. I wished that he will be my companion and helping hand in escaping from this point onward, but no, a tough enemy encounter instead (the link gun works wonderfully on the brutes, which can make this encounter easy).

I personally prefer this death scene over the remake. This one added to the sense of hopelessness and despair Isaac (the player) feels when all his comrades are getting picked off one by one. His new death felt way too heroic and didn’t add to the bleakness of Isaac’s situation.

After just finishing the remake and comparing it to here, Hammond's death was way better in the remake. Dude got to go out with way more dignity and Isaac's reaction was way more emotional than just 😐.

Had Kyne and Hammond survived the Ishimura with Isaac, I'm sure they would've established some sort of Anti-Marker faction. Ultimately seeking Lexine Weller for her immunity towards the marker as well. With Kyne as a former Unitologist, he'd be able to influence some believers over to their side. Hammond being a CEC Chief Security Officer might've had some pull as well. There should be a "What If" of the Dead Space Universe.

Seems to be contrary to popular opinion, but Hammonds new voice actor is garbage. He sold absolutely none of his lines, and did nothing to add to the gravity of the situation. Half his lines felt completely out of place due to their poor delivery.

Colin Salmon always dies brutally in movies and games. I think between Dead Space and Resident Evil, it's a toss up between which was the more gut wrenching end.

At least my boy Hammond got a more dignifying death in the remake

Either it’s smart and yo figured it out by pulling his leg off to decrease its chance of dying or could it be the one who had the advice of cut off their limbs but only had a moment of clarity to make sure one less necromorph to worry about
