Weekend in BANFF without a car
Banff is one of the most beautiful destinations in Canada. It’s a huge wilderness park in the Rocky Mountains, so surely you have to have a car when visiting?
Wrong! Getting around Banff National Park without a car is actually easier than it seems - and that’s coming from a girl who didn’t set foot on public transportation until she was in university!

This video, and others like it have been a great help in planning my summer adventures. You really can't tell what a park is like by their website, so hearing the honest opinion of someone who has been there is great. Algonquin should be on everyone's list. You could spend the rest of your life exploring it, and still not see it all. We love Arrowhead - awesome beach, and, easy accessible trails.Charleston Lake north of Gannanoque is nice too, as smaller park on a smaller lake that's a nice paddle. But for me, the King is Bon Echo. Maybe because I've been there more than any others. Not quite as old as Algonquin, but almost as much history. A nice shallow beach if you have little ones too. It's breathtaking it the fall, but can be busy at times.

You guys did a wonderful job. One thing I might have done differently is paint the outside of the canoe the very last. Paint the interior, install the seats etc., Then at the end, paint the outside...it appeared to be a little scratched when your Dad lifted it to try out the yoke. I am doing my first restore on my canoe after a storm brought down a tree limb on top of it and cracked the hull on both sides. Videos like yours have totally given me more confidence I can do this :)

Nice work! My perfect aluminium canoe got destroyed last winter by the snow plough; I have since got one big white busted fiberglass one for free and a much less busted yellow one with some small cracks for $120. I'm hoping to practice on the white one and then fix up the yellow one. hopefully I end up with at least one working boat! both are fiberglass. never done this before, hoping to borrow a sanding grinder instead of buying or renting. I hope mine look as good as yours when I'm done!

I've had mine painted for 4 weeks and sitting in the garage and it just won't harden up it is almost like a gum texture is the best example to say it's like. please help. thank you
