A very fine composer indeed. Symphony No4 is also excellent.

This composer just finished his career as a composition professor when I began my studies at the academy. Sadly, he died relatively young, only 71. He was a heavy smoker... he was a neoclassical composer, in love with Russian composers. Hence he was dubbed as "Škerlakovich".
