Hummingbird Checks Out Owl

As far as owl vs. hummingbird encounters that I’ve seen, this rufous hummingbird let the owl get off easy - they are normally much more aggressive! #Owl #Hummingbird #WildlifePhotography
Barred Owl Bathing in the Creek - British Columbia
On a hot day, nothing is quite as good as taking a dip in the creek, even for a Barred Owl! This Barred Owl took a little dip, dried off, and then jumped right back in when the mate tried to take a bath too! Mystery Fish in Creek

I’m not sure how much longer my phone will tolerate being in the water, maybe I need to invest in some waterproofing for my camera 💦. We think this is a young lamprey of some kind, was definitely not expecting to find it in the local creek! #underwater #creek #lamprey #iphone

A magic little moment with a Golden Crowned Kinglet ✨ Filming this bird turned out to be a bit of a challenge! As soon as I pointed the camera and focused, the bird would move behind to the back of a branch or a neighbouring tree. 📍Delta, British Columbia 🗓️ January 20, 2024 #natgeoyourshot #natgeowild #femalephotographer #women_wildlife_photography #birdphotography #bcbirdtrail #bcbirds

Bull Elk Grazing in Jasper National Park
The gentle grazing of a bull elk in Jasper National Park, Alberta. There are four types of elk in North America. In Jasper, the Rocky Mountain elk reign supreme. There was a time where elk were the most wide spread member of the deer family in North America, numbering in the tens of millions. By the 1900s, this number was reduced to about 100,000. Today, they have bounced back to 1 million, wit...
Barred Owlet Head Wiggle
Why do owls move their heads around like this? While owls have fantastic vision, they are limited by the fact that their eyes don’t move. So what does that mean? No bombastic side eyes from owls, at least not in the traditional sense! To help look around, owls their head in all kinds of directions, including this weird dance thing that is often seen in barred owlets. If you enjoy my work, consi...

Thank you, I appreciate it l 🙏
What an exceptionally beautiful capture!! The best I have seen in a long time.
Thank you 🙏
That was not a confrontation. Clickbait is pathetic
This is how they confront them and let them know they aren’t welcome. Sorry if you were expecting more, but it IS a hummingbird, it’s not exactly built for attack lmao
@@melissaalvesphotography That owl had no idea the hummingbird was even there.
@@66guns4 that is literally the joke

Cute Owl
Excellent video of one of my favourite birds, and the music fit perfectly. Subbed :)
Thank you 😊 appreciate it!
I love Owls - magnificent bird..............cheers!
Thank you 😊
So beautiful!!!
Thank you 😊
Magnificent.
Thank you 😊
The soundtrack is so serious and dramatic! Doesn't quite fit the scene, does it? Should be one of those merry songs from the 50s; one of those Fallout 3 radio songs.
and too loud
Beautiful!
Thank you 😊

Nice
Saw my first owl ever in my life this past December (a big, beautiful Barred Owl), just before Dawn, in the swamp next to where I live. Amazing & majestic - HUGE eyes!
Helo ❤❤
love love love this! Such an AMAZING capture!
Thansk Matthew!!
I played this call on a speaker out my back door. There was an immediate response! I played the three calls again, pausing between each one. Again, responses, but nearer than the first. Then I realized the stress that I was giving to the poor love-sick blighter out in the trees. I switched off the rest of the lights, went upstairs, and pulled the sheets up to my chin. When I drifted off a half hour later, the poor sod was still calling out, hoping that the new girl would answer him again.
What kind of speaker did you use? Did you just use your phone? I wkind of want to try this lol.
Sorry that may have been me, I'm a hoot. Lol. They come visit us as well.
That’d be like being catfished on Tinder by an alien using someone else’s old and deleted profile from another country
Wow so beauty 🥰🥰😘😘💞💞💯💥
😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
will it have sex with any other male owl? do they have standards? and would they have sex with a sibling or does it not matter?
They do mate for life, so she is calling for her specific mate. But if something were to happen to either owl, the remaining one wouldn’t wait long before moving on. There is a bit of courting that happens but I haven’t seen it between two unpaired owls so I can’t tell you more unfortunately, and I’m not sure how well they are able to recognize their own siblings
Whooo whooo whooo's available??? She's quite a good catch, fellas ❤❤❤❤

❤✨
That is insane! Thought they usually would skin/clean it first. Maybe just a really savage owl that doesn’t have time to because it’s ready for next slaughter…
You know, I do this EXACT routine every morning when I first exit my front door for years. It hasn’t done a gosh-darn thing for me at all. Neighbors just yell “for God’s sake- put some clothes on son !!!”
Love hearing this in my back yard ❤️
NICE VIDEOS NICE AUDIO
She heard a reply and immediately took off.
BEAUTIFUL LITTLE OWL❤❤❤❤
Se voce ainda nao ouviu podera ouvir o chamado do baby asking for the parents to bring food. It sounds like a squeek and the baby is a ball of white fluffy feathers.
