Hey I have a 2005 Yukon SLT 5.3L automatic with 218,000 miles. All stock equipped. Doesn't make any noise of any kind, that's abnormal. Well kept and daily driver. I drove it out on the highway for 300 miles and when I exited Interstate it was in manual steering mode...stiff to turn like it had no pump at all. And the brakes were not boosted either. It's not the belt or fluids of steering or brakes...all good. No leaks. No codes. No smells. No noises of pump failure. It only does it at low rpms when coming to stop, under 700 rpm. It works fine when above that. And the brakes are unboosted when it does it also, but work. This is the pump I assume? Remove and replace eh? Suggestions of what pump brands you had success with? I'm eyeballing the O'Reily $72 special. Thanks!

there's no need to lift the truck or removing skid plates, no need to get under the truck, no need to dsconnect the power hose from the steering power, just disconent from the hidroboost, I replace mine out of a 005 tahoe, i remove the alternator house as a whole, loose the one bracket bolt from engine , then remove the power steering with the power hose attached, just remember the hose route, then i transfer the bracket from the old power steering to the new one , and if you want to replace the power hose (wich i did) put it exactly as the old one, then put the unit back, install the one bracket bolt to the engine, then put back the alternator housing, align all the bolts, conect the power hose to the hidrobost, conect the two rubber hoses, put back rhe pulley FAST AND EASY !!

@@marcellusjenkins350 FIRST THING, disconect the batery, remove the radiator upper hose, remove the fans unit, disconect wires attached to alternator, remove the bracket that holds those cables, remove the temp.sensor conector, then remove the pulley ,EASY, loosen up the power steering bolt attached to the engine, don't remove yet, remove the alternator housing unit as a whole, disconect the power hose from the hydroboost, by then the power steering is loose, then remove the 2 hoses attached to the power steering, then remove the bolt that was just lose, that's it, remove it, transfer the power hose, and the bracket, be sure to conect the power hose exactly as it was attached to de old unit , put everything back, AND THAT'S IT !! DO IT , IS EASY, LITTLE BIT HARD REMOVING AND INSTALL THE PULLEY !!

Excellent video. You don't have to remove the drum, fortunately. Just unscrew the heating element and it comes right out. It's a good idea to organize all the different screws you remove to take off the covers, including with pictures on your phone, and notes in individual sandwich bags, in order to not forget lose the screws and/or forget which screws go where.

Very helpful! When I tried using the puller to get the pulley off, even with it centered and well seated, using a ratchet, I broke the flange on the pulley. Now I have to buy a new pulley. Wish I had an impact gun. On my truck those ground wires are not attached to the power steering pump. They are attached to the bracket at the back of the pump that attaches to the block. Much easier than fishing them past the bottom of the pulley. Good video! Thanks.

I’ve had this same dryer since 2012 and I’ve replaced the heating element, thermostat and thermal fuse multiple times. There is no need to disassemble it to this extent to replace those parts. You can remove the front with the door still attached. The heating element sits on a bracket. Remove the screws securing the element to the bracket then remove the screws securing the bracket to the base of the dryer then the whole thing will come out.
