Where?
Are those Totoro puffs vegan?! 😍
They are unfortunately not vegan but there are some good vegan bakeries in Tokyo! Universal Bakes in this area (Shimokitazawa) is my personal fave~
Who is your tour guy?
He’s my good friend Taku! Not actually a tour guide but knows a lot about history! ^^
Finally moving to tokyo in 25 days 😅 Gonna need to get an apartment 😅
Ahh good luck! Def try Apts.jp !!
Do you teach 12 month? In the states school is not 12 months
Yes, even when the kids are on summer vacation teachers are expected to come into school for most companies. There are a few that allow the foreign English teachers to have off for the summer vacation (which is one month long in August). One of those Companies is Altia.
Thank you 🙏🏼 Sabrina 🇫🇷🇬🇧
Thank you for watching ^^
Hi. Did you have any TEFL course in your resume while applying for the non Jet jobs? I am currently taking one and hope it might give me a slight boost in the selection process. Gonna apply for JET too but I do know that the likelihood of rejection is quite high. That's why I'm entertaining a lot of other options as well.
I did not have any certifications and I was offered 3/4jobs I applied for ( I didn’t get an interview for JET). I think it does look good to have certifications on your resume!
Kodaiji is also known for their night time illuminations, especially during spring and autumn. Visited the bamboo forest during autumn at night and its amazingly beautiful
Ahh that’s so good to know! I’ll have to look out for them~
The JET Programme is not a company. It's a program run by the Japanese government. I don't think they do subsidized housing, in general. I did have a subsidized apartment when I worked in the JET Programme and paid about $60 a month for rent. But, not everyone gets that. The apartments are for public school teachers, so all my neighbors were teachers. But only a few of these apartments were set aside for foreign English teachers. There were many more JETs who did not live in the subsidized housing than ones that did. I'll say the apartment complex had about 24 apartments and 5 of them were foreign English teachers...
Vegan for the animals ❤
Hello, do we have to book the bus from gotemba to subashiri 5th station ? Thanks
You don’t have to book it, I got my tickets right before the climb at the station ^^
Looks lovely, thanks for sharing again !
Thank you for watching ☺️
From what I’m told, Jet is highly competitive so it probably makes sense to apply to a company not paying as much first to get the experience then look into Jet you want to make a little more money
That’s true! Something to note though is JET only hires from abroad so you’d have to go home after your first job before applying to JET ✈️
are you doing well ? since when did you started making this kind of videos ?
I’m doing well! Thanks for asking ^^ I’ve been making Japan-related content for about 3-4 years now. Real estate videos though are a bit new for me though. I have a few more like this coming soon 😁
Wish they made it easier to freelance 😢😢
It is rough out there for freelance 🥲
Hey Amber, Thanks for the great content. What about non-natives? I am a teacher with +8 years of experience, a BA and MA in Teaching English, and a CELTA. Which companies do you think I should apply to? I see that most job offers ask for Natives. Thanks a lot!
Hello, I’m not too sure about this since I’ve only applied as a native English speaker but I l’ve heard that Gabba is open to non-native foreign English teachers. (Not sure if it’s true though but def check it out!) Unfortunately I’ve also heard that they’re not a good company to work for but maybe a good foot in the door into Japan?
@@ChefinJapan Thanks. Yeah makes sense. ❤️
As a foreigner i feel the interior layout abit weird. Only thing i like is the rooftop balcony of the first one.
The layout is a bit weird, def not for everyone 😆
The balance between work and living costs. Of course, the countryside is cheaper. There are a lot of laid-back people here.
welcome to japan!!! have a fan!!!
Yay thank you for joining!~ Happy to have you here ^^
Hi Amber :D I'm so glad I found your video. I was working in Japan until last year and now I'm going back, but I'm trying now, not to work as a regular employee, but as a content creator / freelancer, with several jobs. So I'm trying to figure out, which visa I need and how to apply. I feel that the process you describe is pretty much the same, that I had with my regular job as full time employee. And another friend of mine, has the same or a similar visa and she is a freelancer. So I think it's nearly the same process for me. :) But anyway, glad I found your video! It's so difficult to find the correct information online.
I’m so happy to hear that it was helpful! Best of luck with the applying process~ ^^
@@ChefinJapan Thanks!
I so wish I found this video before visiting Kyoto. I only tried 2 places on this list. I hope to go back someday 😢
Aww you’ll just have to come back again !! 😆
Ma'am, I'm currently doing PhD in English Literature from India. How to become an assistant professor of English Literature in Japan?
Hii I’m sorry I don’t have experience getting professor jobs here so I’m not sure. Maybe check the website of the school’s you want to apply to? 🤔
I’m looking at applying towards the end of my degree, with the hopes of transitioning into another career in Japan whilst I’m there to sponsor my visa. Is this possible?
Totally possible! I recommend completing you’re 1 year teaching contract before starting your next job though, but you can certainly start looking beforehand~
@@ChefinJapan Amazing! Thanks for the advice :)
But which is better? Pocket WiFi or eSIM? Thought that was your question.
If you’re traveling with a group, WiFi so you can all save money and connect to the same device, if you’re traveling alone, eSIM might be better 😊
Luxury is nice but I prefer learning more about budget friendly apartments
Good to know! I’ll show more like the ones at the end of this video next time 😊
what equipment sdid you shoot this beautiful video on? (if it's an iphone which model) and did you need a mic? Any suggestions on which wbesite to use for the night of accommodation on this trail? I'm really struggling with the booking system. Yamatan does not allow me to get through to the page where you choose your bed and pay etc.... it looks like a bug. did you notice what happened to the hikers who could not book a room - did they really spend a night outside?!
As for camera equipment I just used the canon G7X! 📸 As for the website, I’m sorry I’m not sure about it. I called them via phone to get my reservation 😅 Japanese websites are often ridiculously old school 😆
Wow - so many excellent choices to try!
Hii can you suggest me some public universities in tokyo for bba in english ?? Please 🙏🙏
I’m not sure about public, but I know Sophia University is a popular English speaking one~
If you are a group of two do you book 2f share table? They said 1F is for 3-4ppl.
Ohh I’m not sure, we were on the 1st floor with just 2 people 🤔
Came here from Perplexity
Beautiful! What date is this exactly?
This was January 😊
Are they ready to wear ? Like cleaned and washed ?
Thank you so much for your videos, they're perfect - short but densely packed with info so I can just pause or go back to write something down. I can tell we have very similar tastes as half your list was already on the top of my list to try! The other 6 I just hadn't heard of. Looking forward to my visit soon, and I'm sure it will be all the more enjoyable because of you. Question for you: I've been seeing so many delicious strawberry things to try, I may be exchanging my chocolate addiction for a strawberry addiction on my trip - is it just a seasonal thing that these bites are so abundant, or are most of them available year round? Thank again!
Thanks so much for watching! I’m glad to hear the video was helpful. I’ll be making another updated one soon ^^ As for strawberries, they peak in Jan-May, but I think you can find them in sweets shops all year round! (just not the super market.) Happy Japan eating~
Always nice to see a new video of yours. Suggestion….do some Japanese cooking videos….
Thanks so much for the suggestion! I will def be making some Japanese cooking videos ^^
there's sound issues. I would recommend splitting the output of dji mic and making two mono tracks, the per mic channel is for individual adjustment for each mic but then you need to flatten each track to mono to avoid the issue of each mic in one ear only
Ahh thanks for the advice, I’ll try that!!
i had a vegan monk ramen in pontocho alley last year that was absolutely incredible, best ramen bowl i ever had because it has a ton of veggies and beans and it really blew my mind the flavor profiles and combos that i never had before. It was called 'original kyoto ramen' on the northish part or top of pontocho alley
Omg I need to try thattt! 😋 Thanks for sharing! ^^
Hello Amber, sorry to put a question on an old video... I'm in the final stage of my Aeon application and I'm really excited for it. I just want to know how long the visa granted is, and if it extends beyond the contract. Is it a 1 year visa that will also be renewed if you extend the contact, or longer?
Hello! I’m not sure if it’s the same for everyone, but the visa I was granted was 3 years and it is possible to renew if you stay longer. Best of luck with the application! ^^
いいねえ! I'm a big fan of real estate content! Keep up the great work!
Yay I hope I can do more! Thanks for watching ^^
I was one of those people just wearing sneakers on the way down! Oh boy it was terrible
Omg happy you made it back alive!! 😆
the 2nd one is soooo good
Righttt I want to live there for the pool looking patio 😆
Last one is so small but i think its good for me when I'll come japan ... Thnks for the information ❤
It was small but def not bad at all! Thanks for watching~ ^^
Cool 😮
Thanks for watching ^^
Good video👍 What date on this clip?
Thanks for watching!~ This was in January ^^
is it 5 day work week????????????
Yes ^^
Moving to Tokyo in a few months finally 😊
Yay congrats and good luck with the move!~ ^^
3:10 That's crazy, my wife and I have walked right that place on Kiyamachi-dori!
omg so cool!! 😆
Love watching your videos
yay thanks so much for watching!~ ^^
Can you write in Yen how much earn in each company please?🥲🙏🏻
I’m from the Hudson valley in New York I’m planning on moving to Japan and hopefully doing this type of job
Ohh a fellow New Yorker! Hii and good luck with your applications~ ^^
