Flight Simulator 2024 - New York: 4k 4070ti Super, Ryzen 5800x3d, 48GB RAM and 900mbit/sec ethernet
This is a quick test of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. I'm flying a fighter jet over Manhattan in New York to test the performance and reliability of streaming. My computer specs are the following:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5800x3d
GPU: Nvidia RTX 4070ti Super 16GB VRAM
RAM: 48GB DDR4 Corsair Vengence
I played at DLSS Performance, FG on and High-Ultra settings.
A proper stress test of Azure servers and what Asobo have software engineered for Microsoft. I will do more FPS testing over the coming weeks.

In this video, I'm on a mission to silence my gaming PC. I decided to swap out the 120mm fans on my Arctic Freezer 3 360mm liquid cooler to see if it would make a difference. So, I went on the hunt for a cheaper option and stumbled upon the Thermalright TL-B12 120mm fans-grabbed three of them for just £2 each! Join...

Looks great, sorry to say i have to much trouble with the sim, always something that dont work on xbox, so i guess i will leave it for some time.
When the sim works as it should, it's brilliant. When it doesn't, my fps is as low as 15-20 and super stuttery. Hopefully asobo and Microsoft will enable offline downloading of assets before Christmas. Furthermore my Thrustmaster TCA Captain X doesn't work as it should.
Terrible sound system.. thought I was watching how to use a PC to get good sound. If you really want decent sound... you should really have a dedicated sound system
@@micahpauldunford2052 Good morning :) Let's talk about it. Recommend a good surround system under £1,000/$1,300 and one under £2,000/$2,300.
Brilliant mate! thank you so much for this video! Your efforts has not gone to waste 👏🏾 I’m representing myself too! So this is a great help. ❤️
Fun fact, Thermalright were the premium-performance brand 2005 onwards if anyone remebered the True. Very nice pick up from ebay.
@@MuayThaiBora It's my first time buying from the brand and unlikely my last! What do you own by the brand?
@ I’ve had various from thermalright. True, assassin to my knowledge, noctua nod-15 and then onto custom water cooling. Using noctua nf-a12’s on radiators now
I would like to attempt custom water cooling one day. However I would need to research extensively to ensure that parts and installation are 10/10 without weird pump or radiator noises. I got lucky with my Artic Freezer 3 AIO. It's dead silent. The previous two AIOs I tried very noisy and I quickly returned them. Do you have a link to your computer on PC parts picker?
So when do we get to hear it?😅
@@spaghettijustice I will explore whether I can accurately record the noise or lack of using my holly and mics.
Would of been an idea to turn it on
It's a bummer that I don't have professional equipment to measure the before and after difference in sound. The mics on my 15 Pro aren't precise enough and struggle to accurately measure sound below 30decibels. However, it's genuinely near silent now. You need a dead quiet room and stand 1 meter away to hear that something is on. Gaming performance is amazing. The difference between idle and gaming at 4k is neatly imperceptible. I am blown away by the improvement. Do you have a gaming pc?
Yeah I also like the small stand you have your pc it looks pretty cool it fits so well with the Fractal North XL Case

THANK you, dude! For turning me onto something wonderful and workable, after I've spent FAR too much money on Noctua fans.
@@FesterSilently Are you happy with them? I want to change my top and rear exhaust fans too. However they are rgb and the lighting give me a peak of my components in the dark. Do you know of super silent rgb fans?
@@HonestHans365 Ah, I wish I could tell you what you want to know. :( I am technically savvy when it comes to computer builds, but my knowledge of case/cooling fans has waned rather a LOT. To answer the first half of your question, though: overall, I love the Noctua fans, but the ones I'd been buying are $35USD each, and, well...if I bought enough to properly fill my current case (I only have three at the moment)...it would be more than the cost of another entire case. Which is more or less how I landed on this video. :)
@ I am OCD about sound and noise. I was set on buying Noctua fans as they are the gold standard for performance. However, someone online mentioned the Thermalright TL-B12. I knew nothing about them but then saw an eBay listing for exactly 3 for £2 each. Being faithful to the name of my channel I couldn't resist. After installing them the PC was so quiet that I thought it was broken. Honestly, I didn't expect such a big jump over the stock fans that come with AIO. I haven't even optimised fan curves for the ThermalRight fans yet. Do you have any more mods or upgrades planned?
@@HonestHans365 Well. I've had my current build/PC for...4-5 years now? AMD X570 'board inside a Lian Li 011 Dynamic case, with an NZXT X73 cooling the CPU (radiator mounted/blowing out the top) and a liquid-cooled Sapphire 6900XT (radiator mounted/blowing out the side). It has served me well, lo this long time. I recently saw a good price on an XFX 7900XTX, so I jumped on it (though I was VERY sad to let my liquid-cooled 6900XT go) and swapped it out (a process of a couple of hours, complete with a full dusting/cleaning and some light rewiring). The GPU swap went smoothly, and I placed the 3 aforementioned Noctua fans on the side of the case where the GPU radiator once lived. But now the CPU temps were all over the map - mostly too hot. I thought perhaps the X73 was nearing end-of-life and, what with all the jostling...maybe it had come loose? And honestly, it was a BEAST to mount on my motherboard, so I was never 100% sure it was ever sat on there securely, in the first place. So I upgraded (much to my wallet's chagrin) to an Arctic Liquid Freezer 3/360, which, also, seems to be running fine. But now (because I went from liquid-cooling to air-cooling on my GPU) I'm going to need to mount 3 additional intake fans on the floor of the case, to bring cool air to the GPU. But...I was too broke to purchase 3 more Noctua ($35) fans. And now we come full circle! So, once my next paycheck rolls around, I'll be snapping up 3 of your wonderful (inexpensive!) Thermaltake fans to mount on bottom of the case.
@@HonestHans365 Hunh. I had typed (an annoyingly long) reply, but it doesn't seem to have posted. :/ ~~~ Long story short: I'd (separately, but within a week of one another) upgraded my GPU, and then CPU liquid cooler, which fucked with my overall case temps. I did not want to spend $35USD *each* on more Noctua fans to fill all the new spots in my case, so...I eventually ended up here with you. :) Now I am going to buy 3-4 (INEXPENSIVE!) Thermaltake fans, thanks to you.
Do you have a link to the small stand you have your PC on?
It's a monitor stand. I don't have a wood fetish but when I saw it for £16 on Ebay I couldn't resist buying it as the foot print is perfect for my PC. Here's a link to it on Amazon but you can find it elsewhere: www.amazon.co.uk/OROPY-Vintage-Monitor-Computer-Organiser-Rustic-Brown/dp/B08HMNLJBY

Cheers? May I asked why you watched the video and what you were hoping to learn?
Hi Hans, I’m in a similar position with a 2019 M140 and want a more raspy note from my car. My desktop setup is a 42 in LG C3 and a samsung HW-Q930B soundbar.
How dolby atmos work for you?
@HonestHans365 I positioned the soundbar at the top of the monitor. Sitting 3 feet from the monitor not so good. I need to sit 4-5 feet for it to give a better surround experience. I do wish they release an atmos speaker set for desktop use.
I have the exact same but a HW-930D. Dolby Atmos works 'chef kiss' for me. I have the HDMI 2.1 cable going from my rtx 4090 to the HDMI #1 port on TV and another HDMI 2.1 cable from HDMI #2 port (eARC) into the eARC port on the soundbar. Do you own Dolby Access? If you have enabled it in the software and run the 'Dolby Atmos channel check' does it work fine there? Finally, installed 'Smart things' on your phone and connect to your soundbar. It may ask you to put the soundbar on 'wifi' mode to connect to your home internet. Then the phone can connect using wifi IP and no need for bluetooth. From there you can change individual settings but also: check the firmware and update from within Smart Things.
@ Well done and thanks for sharing. Atmos through windows can be a bit stroppy. Therefore one needs to follow my steps one by one til the very end. Alternatively, do it once, uninstall some of the apps and redo it. Not even I managed to get it to work on my first try.
@@soppingclam Yes I do have dolby access. It's just that the surround experience is not good because I'm too close to the soundbar and I think being in a small room with poor acoustics is not suited for the q930 or any other proper Atmos soundbar for the matter. Maybe if there is an equivalent of the Sony home theater quad for desktops, maybe that will work for my setup. Or having discrete height and surround speakers would give me a good experience. I'll settle for gaming headphones for now. I transferred the q990b to bedroom.
Hey for me the Dolby Atmos for home theatre doesn't appear only Dolby Atmos for headphones appears. I have lg C1, rtx 4090 with q950a

@@lamjk10 yes, the app says its all ok but I dont get sound when I select Atmos, only the 7.1 surround option works
@BrunoCAquino Do you also use samsung dolby atmos speakers? Try going deeper into nvidia and Windows sound settings. Maybe it's just a setting issue. With AMD cards, only window's settings can be changed. There is nothing on the Adrenaline software except some profiles. Make sure you also use 2.1 hdmi cables for eARC.

4070 to 4070ti super is a waste of an upgrade you legit spent $800 for a 20-30% increase
I sold my 4070 and play with dlss and frame gen. 20-30% increase above 165 or 240fps might not be as material. However below 120 the jump is very noticeable. Now I can use ray tracing and play above 60 versus 30-50. Without ray racing 90-120fps feels smoother than 70-90. For games that don't have ai upscaling the ti super is much stronger compared with the 4070 that can struggle pushing native 4k. If the difference wasn't noticeable I would have returned the ti super.
4090 is nearly 35-40% faster then the 4080 in native 4k titles with heavy RT, the 4070ti super is marginally faster then a 3090ti just isn’t worth it, 4090 is 50-60% faster then 4070ti super
The 4090 is an absolute beast! It's wild that the 5090 is rumoured to be 50-70% superior but with 500watt energy consumption 😂 I look forward to watching it run Frontiers of Pandora as if it's an Indien game.
that's no like DEX desktop lol
Thats your opinion but the truth is you need a 4080 for modern games such as Alan Wake,Avator pandora, resident evil remake etc etc on maximum preset to play at 1440...am saying this bcoz i have 4070 super and how i suffer i know very well😏
@@Iconic11111 Not even the 4080 is sufficient for maximing out Alan Wake 2 and Frontiers of Pandora. At 4k max settings you can expect 50-58fps with a 4080. Those titles need an overclocked 4090.
1440p 4070Ti Super User here, it may look blurry on a big 4k TV, but 1440p looks super sharp on a Gaming Monitor
LOVE your capibaras
Thanks. Birthday gift from my GF.
You title and reasoning is all wrong. Any gpu can play 4K. Even 6 year old gpu. Seeing that you dont even have a monitor and use a TV you will never get over 120fps even with the best tv. The better the gpu the more frames per second you get. that why the 4090 it twice the price of the gpu you have. It has way more power and it fps lows would be way better in any game. My recommendation is to get a dedicated gaming monitor before you get anything else. You cant game seriously on a TV/ Hers a video to help you. ruclips.net/video/jCzjA5pdsNs/видео.htmlsi=tdK_iRVXv2QYw7nR
@@kasarnfla The reason why I made the video is because the reoccuring rethoric online is: 4060: 1080p 4070: 1440p 4080/4090: 4k When I bought the pc I was clueless about dlss and frame gen. With those features switched on, no ray tracing and see tings dialed down from ultra, you can enjoy a good 4k experience even with a 4070. The definition of good is entirely personal and dependent on which games you play. For some it's min 240fps and others it's all setting maxed out. I have bought a gaming monitor because I am spoilt by my TV. 4k with dolby vision. It makes monitors that are not oled and look washed out. In fact dolby vision makes a bigger visual difference than Ray tracing. Furthermore I have a surround system with rear speakers hooked to my TV. Dolby atmos works really well through the PC. I only have space for a 24-26 monitor. I haven't come across oled ones in that size. Oled monitors are currently either too large or too expensive.
Kinda glad i came across this video on my home page. Been deciding between a 4070 Super or a 4080 Super. I only play triple A single player games 4K but not at max settings. Just wondering if a 4070 Super will get the job done? My goal is to at least hit 4K60FPS on most titles. I’m not sure if i want a 4070Ti Super because it’s way too close in price to the 4080 Super (The FE, at least) IMO.
Yes 4090 is not for 4k it's for 8k
Thats a nice pc, a real looker. It would be cool to do kinda like a pov video of you playing some games on your tv, just to see what it looks like in practice. UDubUltra does this with an ultrawide oled monitor and it really comes out great.
My exact system, just 32GB (3600Mhz/1933 CL16) RAM for me and I'm using a 40" 155Hz MSI Ultrawide 3440x1440 (DSRx1.78) rendering at 4587x1920. Also playing most games at slightly over 4k using DSR with generally between 100-120 FPS. I agree with you though I really want to get myself an AMD GPU at some point, the 7900XTX does look really good especially with the performance, but here in SA Palit is simply giving better customer support with 3 years warranty vs 2 years as well as being significantly cheaper. Though I would say that the efficiency is somewhat exaggerated, while being mostly true, but to a lesser degree. Just as a point of comparison in many cases the 7900XT gave more FPS per watt vs the 4070Ti Super, now the 4080 generally still has the overall win with the 4070/4090 coming in first in some games which means the 4070Ti Super is seemingly the most inefficient in the 40 series making it actually comparable to some of the AMD cards depending in games. On everything else I fully agree though. Interesting. This is the first time that I have heard of DSR. I just quickly googled it but need to deep dive. Regarding efficiency. Nvidia has the upper hand when you use DLSS and Frame Gen. I can see the difference in power consumption when I use AI enhancement vs playing in native 4k. Granted, if you play competative online FPS games you will not use ai which nullifies the efficiency advantages of Nvidia GPUs. I considered Palit GPUs but was unsure whether their cooling is on par with other manufacturers. How are you finding it? Do you think it's worth upgrading from 16GB RAM to 32GB for gaming?
@@HonestHans365 I've been using palit gpus for the better part of the last 10 years. They are ok, but I killed a 1080Ti and a 3080Ti, which I RMA'd with no issues, and our local retailer "Wootware" here in SA is honestly a 10/10 with their support. I wouldn't say their coolers are anything special. Mine gets around 65c max, which is higher than most of the bigger brands, but memory temps are really good, though, and it's running pretty well overall. It looks pretty good though, but no RGB, which is fine with me at the price I paid. On the topic of DSR, it's a god send when replaying older games. The higher resolution generally works better than AA while performing pretty well, especially DLDSR. On the features front, I played a few games with DLSS+FG and I'm slowly being converted into a believer, but I don't care much for RT tbh, I will take the highest resolution I can get as close to 120fps as I can, if I can I might even push for 140+ at something resembling 4k on my ultrawide screen even if I have to play with optimised settings.
Certainly not in everything. But at least a 4080 is needed to play some latest games on max in 4K, for example Helldivers 2 will not run 60FPS in 4K on Ultra settings even in high quality DLSS setting, not even on a 4080.
Yupp. Some games require a 4090 for maxxing out in 4k. As a gamer you have to ask yourself which games do you enjoy playing, how do you enjoy playing them and how much are you willing to spend. For example, if I was mainly playing competative FPS titles I would be happy with a £600-800 as they are designed for a lowest common denominator. My PC cost £1,600. Would spending three times that amount on a 4090 and 7800x3D rig make the games that I play more enjoyable? No.
Hey what you’re cpu temps during gaming? I thought the 5800x3d required an AIO you got the same setup I’m I would love to upgrade to from an ryzen 5 3600/2060 super also is 4K actually playable? I’m mostly a moba player but I do like to sit up on a 4K TV for casual gaming! Are you really enjoying the 4K output I’m not expecting to max out but if it smooth gaming I’ll be happy. I just plan on having my main setup 2K for since I’m more competitive
@@lightest2385 5800x3D is a brilliant gaming CPU. I’m glad that I chose it. It powerful but doesn’t run necessarily hot which leads high noise. These are the temps with the glass panel on the case: idle/youtube = 33-37C. Gaming: 45-57C. Honestly, it doesn’t need an AIO at all and can be cooled with a bang for buck Peerless Assassin. 4k is enjoyable. 55-60fps at very high settings and ray tracing for demanding titles like Cyberpunk, Alan Wake 2. Without ray tracing I achieve 70-120fps in most titles at very high settings.
That CPU cooler looks badass
Thanks! What's your PC setup?
