Krimson Krusher Monster Truck Forward Flip, 80's
Просмотров 22 тыс.17 лет назад
This is the Krimson Krusher driven by Dale Hancock racing Mad Dog in the 80's, he flipped at the end of the race, and you can tell by the commentator that this was something that didnt occur often in the beginnings of monster trucks. Dale walked away, still wondering,"what happened who won?" More classic monster truck to come.
can anyone correct me on which truck this was that rolled over by the looks of it looks like it’s (bigfoot 7)
Thanks for posting
Had to of been one of the heaviest trucks at that time too
Ford down
I hated seeing them 70s steel dentside Ford bodies get crunched but that’s racing.
I watched an abbreviated version of this many, many times on the ESPN/TNT Motorsports VHS "Turning The Power On" when I was a kid - interesting to see more context!
When it came to racing Bigfoot was balls to the wall!!
I remember texas toy would start off slow then was notorious for catching up at the end.
spacecityx I couldn’t believe how fast he got that Detroit movin!!
Saw a clip of the next night where Dale drove the mangled K K around Freedom Hall. I bet if they'd let him, he would've raced too.
Remember when Monster trucks were bad then and sex was better?
Today I met a name named Vic and was a guy that worked on this truck. It is so cool to met people that started it all.
Ok which one
almost the very first front flip
What style of roll bar did Bigfoot use?
I remember, at the time this happened there really hadn't be a wreck this violent in this sport at this point...This is nothing compared to the rollovers that happen on a semi regular basis today with Monster Jam, but back then, this was terrible.
I was about 3 years old but I actually vaguely remember this. I was such a Bigfoot nut (still am) that I remember being SO UPSET because I thought Bigfoot wouldn't be around anymore. LoL
This should be Bigfoot 6. According to the BF website Jim Kramer started driving Bigfoot 6 after Rich Hoosier took over driving Bigfoot 4. The first time a Bigfoot truck had ever been crashed was Bigfoot 4 by Jim Kramer in Murray, Kentucky, 1986 (during the national anthem). The second was this crash a year later to the day.
I love that ford body, it's too bad they don't use these oldschool bodytypes anymore it looks way better
Bad habit relapse has an old school ford body and lets no forget grave digger. They look better
bob chandler is the father of monster trucks but jim kramer is the daddy....
ahh. 240p we meet again
Better get Maaco. Probably didn't have Maaco back then. Damn I miss the 80's.
best
Bigfoot was ahead of the competition at the time because of the technology the had. I know Bigfoot actually ran a fiberglass bodybecause I have an old Bigfoot tape that mentions them running a fiberglass body.
Back then, you didn't wreck the truck..... PERIOD. You waxed the truck, shined the chrome, and expected it to be that way next week.
@animefan1238 Actually Bigfoot, BEARFOOT, Dennis Anderson, and USA-1 were the original 4.
@animefan1238 what about colt cobra/ snake bite? all three are the best imho these trucks these days dont even look like trucks any more like that stupid dog one and a bunch of others
not a front flip
If I remember, after this crash, they started to require roll cages to be installed in all trucks. The cab of the truck was almost fully crushed.
don't you have to do better things than filming your TV you fuc**** gay guy
I love that 70s style f150 on Tex Toy.
I think that truck is toast. that's a lot of damage
Nah, it was repaired. Bigfoot 6 continued to compete long after this wreck. Most of the damage was cosmetic.
back then it was still the Hoosier Dome
After this wreck, Bob Chandler and the Bigfoot crew realized the need for a bette rroll cage, because very few if any of the trucks had a decent rollcage back then. They went back to the shop and rebuilt the truck with more bars inside to prevent the crushing of the driver's compartment. I was really little when this happened but this wreck paved the way for monster truck technology.
I must have been about 8 years old when that happened. I remember that.
the veeeeeeeeehicle
bob chandler as well
remember, this was back when these were actually trucks, that were just modied and lifted, the trucks they use these days are a cage frame with a fiber glass or sheet metal body on it.
did that have a BAR and not a CAGE... wow
i thought he said fucking and then i sat there and thought could they say that back then maybe he said bucking bronco but he could have said fucking lol
monster trucks are fukin awesome
Wich Bigfoot is this
#6
That was pretty cool
more like a summersalt
holycrap!!
Damn that guy had some luck there...
These trucks are also much heavier than their modern counterparts, where the chassis design not only makes them lighter but inherently strong since the chassis itself forms the rollcage.
I'll never forget this, i watched the hoosier dome crash live when i was like 8 hahaha that's nuts. nowadays you get extra points if you flip the truck over and stuff thanks for the post.
"Higher than he has ever been tonight" haha great commentary
there was a roll cage but it was very simple non cross braced roll cage insede the cab.the reason for jim being alive is that his side of the cage had a brace that minimized an otherwise lethal crash.
It's "buckin' bronco" but the audio makes it sounds kinda screwed up. LOL. This wreck actually drew the attention to Bob Chandler to put roll cages in his trucks and everyone else followed. This was actualy kinda scary...Kramer would have gotten really hurt.
ummmmmm...that's my dad. no joke. he's pretty much a badass!!!
So was that the end of that truck? I don't watch much of the new Monster Jam kinda sports . .. to know if the team carried on after this wreck? I was and am a huge fan of these guys, had a wall full of posters in my room growing up, particularly love the poster of The Dual Tired Krusher!
😍
scott leMarquand I got an awesome 1:64th scale Krimson Krusher. The duel tires on it are sick. I recommend getting one. It’s in the Kings of Crunch Series from Greenlight. They made a bunch monster trucks from the late 80’s a few years back. They even made a few mud runners and a few Big Foot 5’s. In all the 20+ trucks are BEAUTIFUL!
@@scottlemarquand8847the body ended up being replaced with a newer Ford body. A few years after that the truck quit running, but years later the truck returned with Greg Adams driving. I don't think that version has ran since the 2000s.
