Watch this before you install kitchen backsplash - Cost breakdown included

Installing a kitchen backsplash is an easy weekend project for any avid DIYer. However, if you are not comfortable with the following then I'd recommend you hire a professional. - Selecting the right material (Glass vs Ceramic) - Electrical knowledge to pull outlets - Planing a tile layout - Knowing how to set the tiles properly - Operating a tile saw - Making complex notch and U cuts - Selecti...

Installing an Awesome Sojag Sun Shelter - Costco product - WATCH BEFORE YOU BUY.
Просмотров 53 тыс.4 года назад
Please watch this video before buying a DIY/kit sun shelter. We purchased this Messina/Sojag Sun Shelter from Costco. Shipping and handling was pretty standard. They dropped off a big box on the driveway. I would advise against purchasing something like this if you find putting together ikea furniture difficult. This was a challenging build and it took us about 5 hours to complete. You will nee...
NO SAG GATE - How to install Cane-bolts with Gate Casters. DIY
Просмотров 36 тыс.4 года назад
I built this awesome 16ft gate using half lap joints and cross-brace as part of the fence building project. However, after couple of days, I saw the gate sag about half an inch. Gate also seemed flimsy because there was nothing anchoring it to the ground. Here is my custom solution to solving that problem. I hope you enjoy. Please leave your thoughts in the comment. Cheers! Wall Mounted Bike Rack - DIY Inexpensive 6 Bikes Rack

This is a quick bike rack project, took me only few hours to complete. I looked at bunch of options online but didn’t really find anything that would fit in the space. So, I decided to build one and I think it looks awesome. I watched several these videos and one thing you guys dont mention is where does the shower drain to?
The inside wall looks horrible, you can still see where the old posts were, those 45 degree cuts on the sills are bad lol. The only Good part was the outside wall which was done by someone else. I hope that customer was blind bcuz anyone could see this was minimal effort. I had on open loft wall in my house (no pillars) and I had a hell of a time getting the new dry wall to match the old wall. Took me awhile but I finally got a smooth wall. I came here to learn something and I did, don’t take short cuts.
Very nice! Good job.
That 1x3 fence is going to fall apart in 1 season.
Love this content 😊
This video provided all of the information I needed as a customer as to the method, time and cost of a backsplash project for an average sized kitchen. Thank you for sharing. Very nice job.😊
Nice job!
what are ya going to do when the gates sag or the pipes fill with dirt?
What is the full cost to make this?
Does nobody set the midline and then use a level to pop a line to keep the tile straight? Most cabinets/counters are not square.
Did you have to do a second layer of groute in a particular area?
$1000 for that job is crazy!!!
I was wondering why you didn't cut the 3 piece's off the left corner to make it completely straight at the beginning of the video we cut it and put it to a medal 🤔😏👍
Why didn't you trim the pvc?
I would’ve done just one big window
I have a loft with one big opening I would love to see how to do that
Where are you located?
I don’t know where you got your “thousand dollar” for this job but it’s definitely more than that.
everything was great until that giant typo in the end.
Was this the sojag Sanibel 8x8?
That's nice, how much is it?
I know you used a glass tile but what is the color of the tile? Maybe I missed that info but it's a beautiful color! Nice looking backsplash!
Thank you so much. I have been looking how to cut a U into a glass tile for electrical boxes and almost no one shows how to do that ! Thanks.
Nice work 👍🏼
I bought a the similar grill gazebo. It says 2 or 3 people needed but I did mine by myself. I had some leftover 2x8's I used to make 3' long temporary "feet". I screwed each leg base into one of these and then the posts would stand on their own. The cross bar can be installed with one loose screw and the other end swung up to line up and attach to the other post. When you're done with all four, just remove the temporary wooden feet and finish the shelter.
Great idea Robert. Nothing like the satisfaction of doing it all by yourself.
Don't wear gloves when using a circular saw.
Great job. Might say I really appreciate the comments made by the installer concerning products for the job including tile and useful tips about using the spacers and techniques to install. Thanks
Don't think I'm crazy however I'm on a budget but I want to have a nice house too and a nice kitchen can I use different tiles that match that were on sale at home Depot? And how far does the tile have to go up to the rule of thumb! I want to rip out at least three cabinets paint my laminate counter and paint three cabinets that I want to keep. I'm getting rid of everything less is best for me I hate clutter however, I'm a bit messy! I live in a very tiny house you so suck in the living room it looks like a tornado hit it! I don't even want to get the table in the kitchen I'm just going to make a kitchen island from my 30-year-old couch. I took it apart it's Birchwood! The tile that I got on sale is a glass subway tile I guess you call it! I want to paint my kitchen floor too! However I really don't have to which I don't think I am I think I'm going to bring it up rip it up and put vinyl floor down in the kitchen. The college scheme will be blue baby blue a darker blue a grayish a silver however a shabby Chic French farmhouse! I had to talk with myself I know it sounds crazy but we all agreed that I could do it on a budget! I am very creative and an artist I just need someone to encourage me! Especially when I take the cabinets down I know my boyfriend's going to start screaming at me he doesn't live with me, so I have to go undercover but I know it's the best way to do it is to move some of these cabinets plus I hate that they don't go to the ceiling and the dust increase that gets up there drives me insane! Thanks for listening and anyone give me any advice and please be nice! I want to do it! Thank you and if anybody lives in New Jersey we perhaps we can borrow! ✌️🤟
Beautiful job
Thank you so much bud! I followed your instructions to the "T" the only difference was I used spray paint and it turned out great! I was able to fit 7 bikes! I really appreciate your consice and easy to follow instructions.
How deep did you dig the hole?
Im planning to buy one. Is it a good investment? What’s your honest review ? Thank you
Did you have to consider the wall material when choosing adhesive?
Yes based on backsplash material..
Worst music ever!
Awesome 👌
Could you explain how you cut the tiles next the sockets in a 90º angle? Thanks!
I wish he would have pushed the gate to show how strong it was after he finished
Good video, thanks for sharing you experience. I purchased the same shelter but haven't assembled it yet as I'm trying do decide whether to paint my house first. The shelter is going on my back patio so if I install it then paint later I'll have to unbolt it and move it a few feet out of the way temporarily. Question, is the weight of the shelter such that with a person at each leg you could pick up the shelter and move it a few feet?
You should be able to move it easily with 4 people
@@mrsimplycity1 thanks!
Enjoyment to local trades???? not
Looks nice and easy. I like the laser level idea. Question that I haven't seen covered yet in DIY is how to do outside corners and have the tile edges look good.
caulk
@@notsponsered That is an option. Not sure I can make that look good. I'm also looking at edging like schluter edging.
I love it!
Really, really nice. A black grout with the black specks in the counter would've been nice too. This is beautiful, great video as well!!!! 10 🌟 🤩
Is this gazebo grey? As on costco description? But it look black?
It is a dark greyish brown.
What would you say was the cost of the project? Also, advice would you give for anyone starting off to do their first bathroom remodel?
Thanks for the video. I have to take a10x10 down and then assemble it again at my house again. This gave me an idea of what I was going to be up against. Thanks for posting this. A big help.
Nice video with explanations! You made it look easy! Was it a gas dryer? How did you deal with the gas hook-up getting moved to the other side?
Where can I buy this specific glass tile? I love the color!
Did you use half pieces for the edges? Most people,on subway tile, use pencil boarder or schluter edging.
This was absolutely no help at all. It only shows two guys putting up a gazebo. Q little help with how the fuck you snap the roof into the truck when the corner post is in the way.
Great job and beautiful tile. We're in the process of upgrading our kitchen. What brand of tile did you use? It's not listed in the description. Thanks.
Excellent video. I would use painter's tape at the top of the first course as a guide in setting tile, as sometimes laminate countertop have dips in them. Also, it may be easier to remove outlets - or at least tape the contacts - to not have to work around them.
