Easy Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies (Levain Bakery Style)
The best cookies that can’t be reproduced in a supermarket: fresh hot cookies with a crispy outside and soft gooey inside. These are inspired by Levain Bakery (in NYC); they make massive cookies with crispy outside and gooey centers. While these aren't quite as big, they are perfect for small indulgences freshly baked in your own kitchen. This recipe is very forgiving; regardless of the mistakes you make, you will still et the most delightful, scrumptious cookies!
This can be done in one bowl and without a hand mixer--a truly easy recipe that anyone can make! Perfect for holiday baking, birthday baking, or just to treat yourself!

Chinese Steamed Bread Rolls - Mantou (馒头) with Pumpkin
Просмотров 1104 года назад
Lots of Western pride in artisanal bread lies in the crispy crust. On the entire opposite spectrum is Chinese steamed bread and buns, such as these mantou, or Chinese steamed bread rolls. Some people will say the skill lies in the “skin,” but I’m not sure. In any case, they are fluffy delights that I love to serve with soy sauce (Maggi seasoning) or anything saucy. Ingredients I used: Regular d...
Easy Hong Kong Style Egg Tarts (蛋挞) - 6 Ingredients | Easy, Ugly, Delicious

Egg tarts without evaporated milk Egg tarts are pretty expensive where I live, but they’re actually very cheap and easy to make! It only takes 6 ingredients and 30 minutes. Ingredients I used: Crust: 1 3/4 cup flour 1 tbsp sugar 1/2 cup butter 2 tbsp water Egg custard filling: 1/3 cup sugar 3/4 cup milk 1/4 cup water 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 3 large eggs Bake at 400 deg F for 15-18 minutes
Lazy Fancy Ratatouille (Confit Byaldi) - So much easier than it looks
Просмотров 1774 года назад
Confit byaldi is a version of ratatouille where the vegetables are thinly sliced and laid in a pattern and has been made famous due to the movie Ratatouille. It’s actually very easy to make, and doesn’t require a rat to make it for you. Ingredients I used: 1 red bell pepper 1 tsp oil 1 15-oz can tomato puree Salt and pepper to taste 2 roma tomatoes 1 zucchini 1 yellow squash 1 chinese eggplant ...
Char siu gluten with water chestnuts, edamame, and peanuts - 素炒叉烧
Просмотров 914 года назад
More vegan chinese food, except this one isn’t an official dish you find in restaurants. Still tastes good though and it’s the easiest thing to make. Most of the cooking time is in the oven. The rest is frying peanuts in a teeny bit of oil and dumping everything in the pan. It’s also a great pantry recipe or backup recipe because everything is canned or frozen or just keeps forever and thus kee...
Choux au Craquelin - Custard Cream Puffs with Cookie Crust
Просмотров 2224 года назад
Cream puffs are quite the time consuming ordeal. So if someone gives you homemade cream puffs, they either really like you or they were really bored. Feel free to split the custard and flavor it however you want. I did black sesame by just adding a tbsp of ground black sesame seeds. It’s really easy to customize your cream puffs. But classic vanilla custard tastes good too. Crackled cookie crus...
Tzatziki Cucumber Salad

Tzatziki is a dip/sauce commonly found in Greek cuisine that is comprised of yogurt, dill, and cucumbers. I’m not sure if this is already a dish, but I just amplified the cucumbers to make this a salad. Ingredients I used: 2 cucumbers 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt 1 tbsp fresh dill Salt A little sugar to taste Zest of one lemon Lemon juice to taste
Easy 5 Ingredient (Healthier) Tiramisu with Greek Yogurt - No Mascarpone & No Eggs
Просмотров 3,6 тыс.4 года назад
Tiramisu is an Italian dessert traditionally made up of ladyfingers dipped in espresso and hard liquor layered with a cream made of mascarpone (Italian cream cheese) and raw eggs. Raw eggs make this a little more complicated and concerning (at least where I live, consuming raw eggs isn’t the safest). And mascarpone is quite expensive. So here’s a cheaper version using greek yogurt which is coin...

Tomato Egg Stir Fry with Fluffy Eggs - Fan Qie Chao Dan (番茄炒蛋)
Просмотров 2474 года назад
Tomatoes and eggs are a perfect combo that many cultures have figured out. Though other cultures typically have this combo for breakfast (shakshuka, menemen, scrambled eggs and ketchup), this Chinese variety of tomatoes and eggs is served with rice (or noodles) for dinner or maybe lunch. The key to a good tomato egg stir fry is having a juicy sauce that comes from the released tomato liquid, an...

Persian / Iranian Herb Frittata - Kookoo Sabzi (کوکوسبزی)

Other names: Persian herb frittata Iranian herb frittata Kuku sabzi Koko sabzi Kookoo sabzi The best analogy for relating this dish to western cuisine is as an “herb frittata,” which is somewhat accurate. However, kookoo sabzi is more about the herbs than the eggs. Though it can be enjoyed year round, this dish is often made to celebrate the Persian new year, celebrating a fresh start with plen...

Easy Vegetarian Beef Pancake Roll with Tortillas and Mushrooms - 素牛肉卷饼
The roll looks untidy
Just learned of ci fan tuan today. So excited to see this vegan version. Your instructions are also exceptionally clear and detailed!!! Thank you 🙏
Worked like a charm, though, to avoid plastic in the microwave, I covered the bowl with a dinner plate.
Thank you so much for this video! I just wanted you to know I have had your recipe here bookmarked for the past few years and make it whenever I can (with whatever toppings I have on hand). ☺
I used to add coconut milk, which is highly tasty 😊
It worked i finally made perfect mochi!!!! Thank you so much!!! Couldn’t make them properly with any other recipe. It also always came out with some weird smell and I blame cornstarch
I added a little onion and tomato for more volume.
Thank you. Allow me to share 😊
You have to put butter in the bowl
Thanks, no audio but dish seems very easy and i have all the ingredients, will attempt tomorrow! Thank you 😊
simple, effective video, and love that you put the ingredients and directions (also in a simple manner) in the description. subbed(:
I tried frying it and it fucking burned :/
can i use ice cream in this? and can i use normal flour instead?
Do not use normal flour. Yes you can use ice cream but you have to be quick.
Indian Korean fusion
is rice flour a must?
Can I toast ground black sesame seeds? Or would that taste very different?
I couldn't find rice flour anywhere so I picked up almond flour.....it tasted like pure sawdust lmao
can u bake dim sum like bread
How to make: 1/2 cup of mochiko (sweet rice flower) One spoonful of table sugar ~mix well~ Add in 1/2 cup of water ~mix well~ Once done mixing Put plastic wrap over the bowl Then pop it into the microwave for 1:30 It should be really sticky and a thick white If not Keep microwaving in 0:30 intervals till at the desired consistency Then corn starch your surface Put the mochi in the surface Dust some more corn starch on top Then section the mochi out Add toppings then fold into a ball Can be eaten plain
I made it with Nutella filling, and it made 6 mochi. Thanks!
go easy chef, you could win various cooking competitions with that recipe... why dont you add it on Khal.com doe, that could help you grow a lot
Fucking bullshit 10 mins from frozen they need at least 20, I’ve done 10 mins with bbq pork buns like I was told and they where still frozen solid in the middle, they are really tasty but from frozen need at least 20 mins maybe more just use a metal squire or knife stap it in and check the temperature on your lip, it should be hot but not too hot it hurts
Can you use jam as filling? Or can I add some kind of flavoring to the actual mochi?
yeah I reckon u can do that, aswell as use food colouring to this 'base', I wouldn't recommend more then a few drops tho :)
Yes you can even use pie filling but you just have to be careful of how to pinch it close and handle the mochi. Practice practice practice
Do you microwave at a high setting ?
I think its medium, but u could prolly just stir every 20 seconds of so, it should be fine :)

Great and useful video! I find it really endearing how much of your personality you put into it 😊
I also had issues with the recipe, what I found is you need to experiment with the quantity of water to get the right consistency. It may also depend on the brand of rice flour you use (mine was Erawan glutinous rice flour). The most important takeaway is to add the water a little at a time so you don't add too much. The first time I tried this, it was too goopy to form. I came back and re-watched and the difference is the consistency before you cook it, it's like a paste in the video but using the same proportions in mine, it was very thin and watery. I tried a second time and used about half the water, it was a consistency like pancake batter but I tried it anyway and it turned out perfect. So if you don't succeed the first time, give it another shot. :-)
Same here, will try adding half water next time. Thanks
Can anyone help to convert in Grams? Thanks to all, Best wishes 🥰
nice one yaa i like it
I just made this and when I took it out the microwave it was hot and didn’t look like what you showed but when I tasted it it tasted like boba when you first put it in your mouth you just chew and when you swallow you taste the sweetness definitely recommend this
I have sweet rice flower tho
I think that's fine, maybe u don't really need the spoon of sugar then :)
I don't really know what is inside so I'm gonna just do it without the insides but I still like it chewy 😎
It's just a premade anko aka sweetened red bean paste that you can find at most Asian markets for quite cheap. I know the idea of using beans in a desert may seem strange but I'm telling you, the stuff is ridiculously addictive. If you try it, come back and share what you think about it.
Tried to make mochi the traditional way with mortar and pestle but it turned into a mess. Decided to follow this video's instructions and my mochi came out almost perfect. Am making sakura scented mochi right now. Next will be matcha and rose scented. Sure glad I found this simple and easy way to make mochi.
thank you! nice recipe! one question, if i double the recipe to 1 cup, how much time should i put it in the microwave?
start with two minutes at high, then 30 seconds until you get the translucent dough
Thank you for the easy to follow instructions, I wanted to look into making some myself after trying it. My mother likes a variation that includes bitter melon but I've personally always had a hard time with bitter tastes! In some variations, I see people also include garlic and spring onions, but it's nice to see that this is a pretty simple dish to put together! I kind of want to try a version with the skin on though I'll see how it goes!
i tried another microwave mochi recipe and the plastic wrap melted into the mixture and killed my bowl and fork…
bruv you can't put a FORK in the microwave wtf??
@@shroomilk3543 it was after, i was stirring it with the fork
I freaking love you, I tried a recipe from japanesecooking101 and steamed my mochi and it was terrible after I tried this
You cook amazing. Why don’t you add your recipes on Khal, com. Your recipe will be in the top videos .......
I got this perfect like once. Now every time I try to make it it comes out like goopy mush. Very discouraging and disappointing. Why does it do this?
Why my mochi look burn after put on microwave?
Samee 😩
did u cover it with plastic wrap? also maybe ur microwave is on a high setting. If so I recommend mixing it every 20 or so seconds, so it like even :)
This recipe is so good, loved it <3
Can the bowl touch the pot? Like, is the bowl elevated just so water doesn’t flood the buns or is it also to keep the bowl safe? Like if i did everything you did but didn’t have wire thing to hold the bowl up, would my bowl (or pot) be damaged??? Please tell me I’m so nervous ;-;
Thank you so much! I picked some frozen chicken buns up on a whim and didn’t realize until way later that I had no idea how to prepare them. Thanks for this video!
Perfect I was looking for a baked recipe. Going to make this :D
Does it not care if it tastes like dough? Cuz i added simple sugar BUT WAIT ... wait what i forgot
ill not use red bean paste but strawberry slices
I made it. In fridge. Looking forward to dessert. I was told by a French friend to put the cocoa dusting on just before serving. Only thing I did differently. Yogurt & cream cheese tastes great and I did add a dash of vanilla just as DN did.
Was it tasty? I follow so many easy recipes and the taste sucks
Just what I searched for, using Greek vanilla yogurt, straining now in fridge. Thank you for the inspiration and recipe. Bon appetit!
500th like :)
This looks so yummy~
