I definitely want that lens. Especially when i film pee wee football or cheerleading solo with two camera videos. I can zoom with the M&C app from 30 feet away
Thank you for watching!
Sure thing. Please show us how you manage a million photos in Capture One, never touching the originals and having them all cataloged with every change or edit you ever made to them. All the tools are workarounds. As a complete photographic management and processing tool, Capture One can't even carry LrC's water.
Thanks for watching!
Great Video
Thank you, and thank you for watching.
if you put the leg alligned with the boom the weight must be put in another leg expecially if your light is inclined. in that position if you put with a finger the light all the simystem twist and fall on the ground. the best solution is to leave the leg alligned with the boom but in the opposite side. so make sense tu put the counterweight the same leg to balance. in this way the simystem can’t twist because the othee two legs are facing the side with the light. and you have more space to walk under the boom with no legs to hurt with your feet. in symole words, the position of the legs and of the counterwight depnds on the type of modifier and the direction and position of the strone, but in your scenario your choice is not adeguate :)

Is standard or fastest the better option for me in ISO A ss when using Aperture Priority using a SONYR7iii my lens is Sigma Art 24-70mm
Standard will usually give you the base "ideal" value for shutter speed, fast will increase, if not double that minimum.
Always interesting and potentially expensive; thanks for sharing!!!
The kit is pricey for sure, but the type of light you can make, big and small, plus the best case ever made. If you find it on sale, it is a great value. Thank you for watching.
That is a pretty powerful kit!
Indeed. Thank you for watching!
A lot of great information!! Thank you MD!!
Thank you for watching!!!!
Looks like a really robust lighting solution, thanks for the breakdown!
You are very welcome, and thank you for watching!
Interesting bet how long it will take adobe to implement match look feature too. this is outstanding at the moment and really pushes C1. for me as a hobby user i am about to switch.
They have had similar features, with lighting and color. In both LRC and PS, but nothing like this. I am sure they will come up with something soon. And in that time, can CP1 continue to make more ground in masking? Thank you for watching.
Thank you for this. I've bought my son his first camera and lens for his foray into cinematography but this cinema lens has to be any novice's pride and joy. I'm going to see if I can get one just in case the worst happens, and Sony does take if off the market due to lack of interest!!!
Thank you for watching!!!!
Super. Thanks. Very useful video. I found that once the ISO hits the max the SS does go below the minimum SS set.
Yes, I didn't make that clear in the video, but you will eventually have the shutter speed drop once the ISO is maxed out, and it still needs more light on the sensor to make an exposure. Thank you for watching.
Very well explained thankyou
You are welcome and thank you for watching!
One thing I really like about Capture One is that the end result doesn't get tagged with "Made with AI" when posting to Instagram. Many of the photos I edited with LR often gets that tag even if I don't use AI. I think Adobe is currently overreacting to AI.
Great point, never thought of that. Thank you for watching.
This is a really well-done review!! Thank you :)
Thank you so much, and thank you for watching. Also check out the video(s) I have done on C-stands and setting up a boom.
C1 much to expensive
Thank you for watching
Awesome tips. With cameras and lenses, if a manufacturer sells refurbished gear, those can be great deals. Canon Refurbished is a great one for Canon shooters. They offer massive discounts on lightly used, like-new gear during Black Friday and other holidays. Adorama is particularly good for deals on lighting during Black Friday. Especially their Flashpoint (Godox rebranded) flashes, strobes and Glow lighting modifiers. Love the idea about rental deals. Gave me the idea of actually renting gear before Black Friday. So that if you like certain gear, you can buy it during Black Friday.
Thank you for watching and for the great tips!
Love these practical tips on shooting in hotel rooms. Thanks for sharing. Do you ever shoot models in other parts of the hotel? The pool, the lobby, bar, etc.? Probably without the elaborate lighting setup to avoid attention. Or ask the hotel for permission when shooting in public areas. Do you tag or name the hotel if you post the photos on social media? I wonder if they’d like the exposure? Or be unhappy you did photography there? In any case, great work on the pictures. Looking forward to more videos from you!
Great questions and thank you for watching. I usually don't shoot in public places, unless it is quick shot. But I avoid it because those ares are going to be easy to say, "that is out location", and then you run into permissions and the need for releases. Sure places want attention on social, but there are bigger legal issues, and I tried to avoid that. But I have done it, and I have tagged places, usually smaller locations, because they know I am there, and we are doing a favor for each other. Large locations or properties, probably nothing to be gained there. Really, if you are doing work, and the property knows you are there, it is best to work out what, and where you can shoot. They may give you a ton of access that you wouldn't normally get. But be careful, they may ask for images in some sort of "trade". Make sure you are getting something from that, because they will use those images in ways your probably can't imagine. Thank you again for watching, and hope you check other videos on the channel.
Looks great. Pretty photos
Thank you, and thank you for watching!
>>> Note about the File Handling window: Forgot to mention that the bigger the preview, the bigger the Catalog gets. And yes, you get to import the fastest choosing Minimal, but at the same time doing that, makes the reviewing process harder since they won't look as good.
Thank you for watching.
I will no longer support Capture One. Buying the software is useless if they will not provide any updates. Once I update my macOS, it will no longer work. Might as well pay for Lightroom and Photoshop instead.
Thank you for watching.
Too expensive
Thank you for watching.
Capture One lured me away from Lightroom with "Yes, you can run Capture One catalogs and sessions from a NAS." That feature alone makes it hands down the better program for a photo studio with more than one computer that stores the photo files on a NAS for access by any computer on the network. Add to that the superior tethering experience that Capture One provides and the fact that RAW files straight out of the camera look better in Capture One than they do in Lightroom (which makes me look better when clients are viewing the images as they are being shot) and I am willing to pay the Capture One subscription because it meets the need of a studio photographer better than Lightroom does. Then there are many, many more features in Capture One that beat Lightroom: The ability to shoot in Sessions rather than in a catalog, the skin tone color editor (which can be used to even out ANY color, not just skin tones), the Match Look feature, the ability to edit in layers, the unmatched ability to customize the screen's tool layout and workspaces, ... in short, there are PLENTY of reasons why Capture One beats Lightroom, especially if you are studio photographer who shoots tethered.
May be you are right... so far !!!. The problem is that Adobe's subscription is half the price C1's. The day C1 is on par with Adobe, as for the price, maybe they beat it !!!
Thank you for watching!
Very well explained. Simple and straight forward. Thank you.
You are welcome, and thank you for watching!
Ah my camera is too old to have this it seems. Unlucky. Seems like a very useful feature, because this is exactly a problem I have with a lot of my aperture photos. The shutterspeed going to hell to keep my ISO low, where it wouldn't really have mattered if the ISO went up a bit.
Thank you for watching.
Thank you for the fantastic video! I have a question: If I plan to create podcast videos with the camera focused directly on me, and space isn’t a concern since I live in a spacious 850 sq ft condo, would you recommend the 35mm or 50mm lens? The 35mm seems like it might be more versatile, especially if I decide to use it outdoors occasionally. I hope you have time to answer. Thanks again!
If you are shooting full frame, and want to show off the space with you in it, then go 35, but if you want to center the attention on your self, and minimize the space around you, go with the 50mm.
@@PhotoKitchen425 Hey, really appreicate the reply. Yes, I'll be shooting with a full frame camera. I actually don't mind having more of the background in my video, but I can always move the camera a little bit closer if I want the focus to be more on me, right? I had a 50mm lens before and found it a bit challenging in small spaces. Kept having my back up against the wall. I think I'll try the 35mm. Thanks again!
I had no idea about loading booms 'to the right' so they dont unscrew themselves.
Thank you for watching!

Wow, this video was SO helpful! 🛍 Thank you for breaking down where and how to spend money during Black Friday-I feel so much more prepared to snag the best deals without overspending. Thank you for watching.
I am using Capture One for long time, currently I am using Version 20 Pro. I find Capture One's UI very simple compared to Adobe's softwares. Maybe it's just me. But that's the basic reason I use C1. Color control is incredible. Thinking to upgrade to latest version. I do Photography for hobby, so perpetual licence price does feel heavy for the pocket.
Than you for watching!
Soon it would be cool to apply match look to just a certain value of tones or colors, Maybe even using color swabs to get specific colors to match reference photos. LUT control would be nice too.
Thank you for watching.
As for tastes and colors... For me C1 has advantages over LR. Just a few details. The price... for an amateur it is expensive but for a professional no, I pay much more as a programmer for updates to my tools. Why do I have to import my images? With C1 I have sessions that are much more effective. The LR interface is pitiful compared to C1. In C1 I have LAYERS, not what they sell you as layers in LR. What happens if I decide not to pay the subscription with my catalogs anymore? By the way, PS has a serious competitor and at an incredible price, Affinity Photo and without a subscription.
Thank you for watching.
Well done sir!!!
Thank you, and thank you for watching.
Thought that I knew everything about using curves adjustment, but here I am learning new techniques. Tuned right up, NEXT!
Thank you for watching, you are the best, sincerely Diamond Jim.
Thank you for the inspiration to be more creative.
You are very welcome, and thank you for watching.
Do you know how I can shoot from the camera shutter while tethered from capture one? I can't figure it out. Thanks
What camera make and model are you using, and what version of CP1?
You REALLY need to put your items and gear build items in the description with links.
Will do! And thank you for watching.
I feel if they lowered their price they could steal a large chunk of the Lightroom crowd and make even more money than they are now. I know theres tons of photographers like me that are price sensitive seeing as you still need to find a pixel editor while paying more per month with C1
Agreed, and thank you for watching.
I'm done with CaptureOne. After loosing tons of metadata for my photos I've created a support request just to learn that if you're not on the newest version (I have a perpetual license) you're not eligible for any support. Seriously, Adobe used to be the one disregarding the customers, but at this point it's the Phase One choosing short-term money against customer value.
Sorry to hear about the experience. I will say that I am not wild about the interactions I have had with Capture One before. There are some serious issues I have had with the program, design not issues like you are having, and they have not given me the idea of being all that receptive. Thank you for watching, sorry to hear about the experience you have had with the program.
I've been using PP on and off for several years, but I'm smart enough to know NEW FEATURES and NEW WAYS OF DOING OLD THINGS can be had by listening to someone else - like you. So regarding this video and to you sir I have two words - GOOD SHIT ! Thankyou.
Thank you very much, and thank you for watching.
Thank you! I have Bridge but it's not in my dock because I've never used it, in fact forgot I even had it. Then yesterday I was looking for a different app and noticed Bridge. Despite vague impressions I wasn't sure what the heck it does. You clarified my cloudy recollections enormously! Liked and Subscribed.
Thank you so much, and thank you for watching!
Thanks for doing the video. I’m glad I don’t need Adobe for video editing and I was hoping it would be the same for photo editing. Apart from its high price, this feature is only for a small proportion of photographers. Whereas I use masking on nearly all my photos plus generative AI a fair bit. Ugh. I’m stuck with Adobe for a while longer. I also recommend anyone wanting to eventually switch away from Lightroom converts all files to .dng files on importing images in.
Thank you for watching!
I agree with most comments here, the software is way too expensive for what you get. I am moving over to food photography and downloaded the trial as their tethering is meant to be one of the best, after using it for a couple of weeks, I went back to LRC, no difference for me and i pay $9.99 per month for lightroom and photoshop, it's a no brainer.
I totally agree, the price is a hard point to argue against. But I will say that for commercial work, the import/tethering/export features of CP1 save me considerable time per job, and makes for a much better client experience. And when I take that time into account, against my hourly rate, the price difference in CP1 has paid for itself before he first quarter. But again . . . many photographers don't use or even know about many of those features.
It’s much much more robust at tethering for some cameras. I have a GFX 100sII and LR can’t tether it at all. I have to use either Fuji’s very basic app or C1. And it can tether with digital backs from MF cameras from the 90s.
You should have show the same masks with Lightroom because the CaptureOne masks were pretty bad. The match style tool is amazing.
In my use of the programs, I didn't see a radical difference between the two programs, but I am sure there are images where LRC does a better job than CP1, but I haven't seen it yet. But it is very early in the cycle of updates for 2025.
How can you not notice how crude the masking tools are in C1? The way you can paint a raw file before having to go to PS (or instead) in LRC is THE reason to own it IMO. That and file management. I used to use Bridge years ago but LRC just does it so well now. It’s also much easier to set up exports. That whole feature set in C1 feels like it’s stuck in a 20 yr old computer.
Capture One is definitely the best choice for professional use but for amateur use if it wants to compete with Adobe it should lower the price a bit. By thank you.
I think Capture One will always have a hard time competing with Adobe on price, it is why QuarkXPress died a quick death. What I think CP1 can do it make the user experience better for users, and that might bring more photographers over . . . maybe.
No it's not. Most professionals use Adobe. Basically Adobe Color was terrible, then it became bad and today is "me". Thetering was also soft. Today the color is competitive (I sill prefer Capture One's) and tethering is competitive. In terms of price, you need to have problems paying $21/month for Capture one when you can get Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop and 20GB of cloud storage for $9.99/month. It's such nonsense.
Thanks for watching @@jaimeduncan6167
No its not, CO is geared more towards fashion photographers and there it has a strong following, but in every other aspect (Landscape, Arcitecture, etc.) Lightroom is the clear winner.
Thank you for watching @@ArminSteiner
Love the lens, had mine for 3 years now. Wish it would take a ND. Any work arounds for a screw thread? Don't want matte box as adds too much weight for Gimbal work. Thanks you. Great vid BTW
Thank you for watching. I know there is threading on the inside of the lens, but I haven't check for anything that would fit. I am afraid it would probably be a matte box solution.
@@PhotoKitchen425 Yep I've tried, doesn't seem to work with anything. Kind of a in between size frustratingly. Thanks anyway. Best wishes
I need to look deeper @@LukeBurwood-b9z , but the solution might be a step-down or step-up ring. I have the Lee system for my still camera, something like that might work.
Thanks for that, Its been a long time since I used LR as a daily RAW editor but it's always difficult comparing the two programs overall based on individual features. Capture Ones target market is definitely professional and commercial photographers and its recent development and improvements support that approach. Its end to end workflow is what counts, and the ability to tether, collaborate, cull, edit and export quickly and to a high quality product are what makes it stand out for me.These latest improvements will help that workflow be even faster. I see the same advantages for the Match look tool as you - clients frequently say they want a particular look and this tool really helps with that. The new people masks are great, C1 claim them to be the most accurate in the business, and they are only the first iteration - they will no doubt improve over time and are bound to allow separate people to have different edits as that is so important for weddings and the like. It is not, of course, perfect but no software is. I only have to use another editor 1% of the time now, and that is for object removal - if C1 introduce a tool similar to Adobes it will be the only editor I will need for what I do (weddings, events, brand). Subscribed and look forward to more videos.
Thank you for watching!
For my taste, the "Match Look" is overrated. There are some other features that would you need more often.
Thank you for watching.
The match look results are still better than the hideous Lightroom presets from most RUclipsrs. 😂
Thank you for watching @@jaegerschtulmann
CaptureOne need to make better file management tools and masking. LRC is much better at managing your portfolio. It’s not close. A decade ago Capture One was hands down better with Raw files. It’s not significantly better anymore. And now that C1 is also a subscription (and an expensive one too), I don’t see its advantage with Match Look helping. Yet.
@ wrong the masks in Lightroom are fairly rough. Andrea Liveri made a video comparing both and indeed it’s not close in that capture one produces better masks. Also capture one has both sessions and a catalog system whereas LR only has catalogs
Capture One has several problems, which include its high price, its mean spirited limited upgrade policy and technically its very poor noise reduction and sharpening. Even if you are prepared to pay the price, technically Capture One is still falling very short in some important processing areas.
Thank you for watching!
Look at how C1 Pro looks 'straight out of Camera' compared to LR (CC, Classic, etc) and see that Adobe is not without its issues too.
Also, I find myself still using Photoshop, Lightroom is constantly updating almost every month with new software features and fixing bugs
@@v3rlonC1 just applies different contrast/color settings on import. Nothing to do with quality.
@@haakon_b No, there is definitely more to it than that. Look at some of the deep dives into importing into various RAW processors. Contrast will co er some of it, but not all. In my case, I ran into an edge case that really highlighted differences.
