Meh, war ain't fair. Arma is a game but it has always been a game that attempted to ground itself in somewhat of a simulation category.

i was thinking... that implementing incendary/phosporus rounds and have building roofs/floors etc, burnable with some time till it burnsdown(like the way fire work in minecraft, ffs it aint nothing new) would be cool, but concrete buildings should have more HP or be indestructible. Plus in my experience from vanilla conflict most combat centres around military sites or is in the open side of a village so some reinforced concrete building which would be resource expensive is needed anyway

Is the only vase that regens supplies the main base? Will a run with fresh supplies always be from main base to 'x' destination?

If they were 155mm Howitzer rounds I could see these houses becoming rubble.

For realisms sake the houses should stand quite a lot of mortar rounds, agreed from my experience in Arma 3 where we got even stronger Artillery I don't believe the towns will all turn into wastelands at the end of each round, at least I've never seen it there even in the hours long gamemodes. Also I bet mortars will have very limited ammo if you don't bring a vehicle and even with vehicle the ammo is gonna be somewhat expensive and the question remains why you should shell a town until only rumbles are left. What I am kinda concerned about is bases, they are so small right now but I hope their reinforced buildings gotta have a good chunk of HP against mortars and hope we see good defensive structures against mortar fire, just like you'd have in real life

I have a 4090 but I get microstutters the last couple of days on WCS is there any settings I should change for smoother experience? I usually get 100-140 fps but it drops to 40-50 at times

So the hard part of really figuring out how effective Mortars will be is getting live gameplay from a Conflict round. Experimental has a sporadic player count and rarely gets a full server that is stable enough to last hours. That said I have played lots of 1.3 on Exp. Yes you will find bases completely leveled and if you have infantry fighting on those ruins it's a whole different experience. What isn't talked about is how weak the actual tubes are to damage, and how loud their report is when fired. They are not at all hard to track down and take out. If you know where they are you can even call in your own counter battery fire or attack helo strikes. So yes they are very effective, but they are also very vulnerable.

I agree with Azzey. In reality, when houses like these are hit by mortars, the windows, doors, and roof go first and after that, following hits are doing a lot less damage due to lack of overpressure. The explosive power is vented out easier. So buildings definitely need at least two more stages of destruction before becoming a pile of rubble. There should be a progressive amount of damage neccessary for each step from "pristine condition" to "doors, windows, roof gone", followed by "only walls left" and finally "only rubble". Especially for garages, hangars, etc. The more damage the building absorbs, the less damage should go to the assets/players in the area.

Really good video man, I'm sure we are going to all feel the wrath of mortars when they release, but how they affect the flowstate and match overtime, will have to been seen!

We cant handle casual supply runs, so armed mortar squad will be really rare and not effective as attack helicopters will be(same dmg almost with superior mobility and not so easy counterplay)

Im excited for all these changes, I do however hope that the hitpoints for a building are only low during the testing phase on experimental. Hopefully it gets raised for when it makes it into the normal game. As for mortats, its going to be fun but I hope it wont lead to balancing issues on the larger pvp servers. They feel more like something meant for a singleplayer or mission maker experience. Otherwise, I enjoy your content and the way you narrate also keeps the video interesting!

ITS NOT MODDERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE A GAME HAS MORE THAN 5 GUNS IN IT 😂🤡 if these guys understood that, this game would go from a circus to a masterpiece real quick . WCS is the only server we play on, but they need to put out another +6 servers with how MASSIVE those queues are right now.

For anyone curious, to rotate objects in building mode on controller... hold RB and use your left stick to rotate it

Same as arma 3 the first thing you do is set up all your key binds ..as the vanilla binds aren't great ..for example zoom and aim should both be on the same mouse button so it's easier to pull gun up and ads n zoom vision all in one
