Lovely moment. But ending on that particular bombshell, where they're talking about a man, does kind of undercut the whole "Bechdel Test" angle 😂
I know this comment is not going to be well received. I like River but I wish they would stop shoving her down our throats I mean the 9th and 10th doctor or roses doctors and the earlier doctors were their companions doctors. I just don't like feeling like I'm having a character shove down my throat. And it feels like I have to like her as the doctor's future wife. But the thing is the doctor has had other wives before her and we'll probably have another wife after her. So can't she just stick to 11 and 12?

I don't know, maybe I'm just not as picky about voices as most, but I think Tim Treloar does a great job as Three here, and in the other audios. He doesn't always sound exactly like Pertwee did, but personally I don't think he needs to. He sounds enough like The Third Doctor for me. Then again I also like the Jacob Dudman Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctor audios, so according to the internet my opinion means nothing.

Davis Bradley is great, but I find he's more...sluggish than Hartnell. Hartnell was snappy, strict with his words. Bradley draws his words out, kinds slurs into them. He's much more gentle in his way of speaking that Hartnell was
I'll just see bradley as the first doctor further along, when he started to slow down as his regeneration grew nearer
I do hear the difference, IMO that’s just natural difference in voice tone, Hartnell’s was often harder. But as BlueMoon alludes, the 1st Doctor’s arc was to soften a lot over time.
I have not watched many episodes of Dr. Who, but Strax makes me wish they had a whole series with him. I love Strax!😂

What's remarkable about Strax -- and this is true of the Doctor and many of the characters he encounters -- is that they are all bereft of community; they are often orphans or the last of their kind. They all work at making something of their lives. Vastra, Strax, even Jenny, all do the best they can with what life or time has left them.
Wow, he doesn't sound ANYTHING like the 3rd doctor... usually Big Finish are better at this...

I think the 2nd crispy Master was a partial regeneration, because if I remember correctly, the 1st one in The Deadly Assassin was trying to create a forced regeneration and was willing to sacrifice Gallifrey and it would seem it had some effect.
I feel like he's had several different stages of decomposition Even when he gets a new body at last Both it and the time he dressed for the ocation rots away eventuly

In a way. Right now, River doesn't recognise her. Spoilers Below: In the story this clip is from, River encounters "Lake", someone who appears to possess the ability to regenerate. Lake is revealed to be one of a number of other beings created by Madame Kovarian from River Song's DNA, during and after the battle of Demon's run. She is, in a way River Song's sister. In the events of the story, she along with the rest of her siblings are killed, which is why River here is so utterly exhausted and broken. This particular stinger though, features a companion that River never knew the Doctor Had, that River is shocked to see as she has never heard of her, and knows most of the Doctor's companions. Eventually, River discovers that "Brooke" is working for Kovarian and has infiltrated the Tardis as the Doctor's Companion. When she seemingly kills the Doctor, River shoots her in retaliation, causing Brooke to regenerate, into a form that resembles "Mels", revealing herself to be another "Sibling" of River's. However, with her mission seemingly complete Brooke finds herself unable to stop killing, becoming a dangerous killer liked to the mythological "Furies", and offering River a glimpse into who she might have become if she had not fallen in love with the Doctor: it isn't a pretty sight.
It’s a good thing River clearly doesn’t know about the Missy converting Amy and Rory in to Cybermen. Otherwise she actually would have killed a Timelord.

I don’t like that river has met every doctor, (because it’s hurts her story as a whole) but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love these interactions regardless. It’s like fanfiction. I can appreciate them for being cute, even if they aren’t canon to me.
Is canon, in her last episode confirm that.
@@mayotango1317 She had pictures of him. That does not confirm she met them. More importantly, her first episode is completely undercut if she’s met younger doctors then 10. All her emotions make no sense, and the tragedy loses impact. Even if it was directly stated in the show she met every doctor (which again, it isn’t). I still would fundamentally disagree with that story decision.
It’s a bit contrived, but no more so than Clara Oswald saving every incarnation of the Doctor ever as a guardian angel in his timestream. This kind of lore-wank isn’t essential, but is still fun when done with love.
@@goeldicotton I agree that it clashes with her emotions as portrayed in her first appearance, especially considering some of the audios seem to be set in between Husbands Of River Song and the Library episodes from her perspective, which also somewhat reduces the impact of that being their "last night" together. Though personally I don't mind it enough to complain, and enjoy the stories for what they are, despite that issue. I stopped caring about what is or isn't "canon" fot this show a long time ago though. They have had her meet Ten in some of the audios (Post-Library from his perspective) which at least justifies her initially expecting him to recognise her in the Library.
@@emeraldkoala2 Firstly, yeah, I’m actually super ok with ten and River stories. It’s implied she’s met ten before multiple times (post library obviously) in the show. But second, and really more importantly, I’m not upset about devaluing darillium (Though that also sucks). I’m more upset because, really, the tragedy of River’s story isn’t her death. That’s the sad part for the Doctor. Her tragic moment was her husband seeing her as a stranger. She said it herself, death doesn’t frighten her, that there’s a worse day coming, and we saw that. We saw the heartbreak in her eyes when her husband had no clue who she was. Meanwhile in big finish it’s like, “oops, you don’t know me yet. better go get my memory wiping lipstick teehee~” (I’m exaggerating of course, but still) it just feels…idk disrespectful I guess??? Maybe that’s not the right word, but I feel like big finish just dodges the point of her story for the sake of fan-service, y’know?
You know what be nice to see. If Strax had his own series like maybe at some point he is coming to the end of his life and thought about lot of his past reaching his way to his present each episode at a time in best and funny ways we not even imagine, even take some moments of how he meet the Doctor and how he ended up where he did all to adventuring up to the last few moments of which we see the rest play out :3

Why have we not seen any new Strax, Jenny and Vastra since Peter Capaldi's regeneration episode? They should have had an entire season as full time companions.
I thought this was AI when I saw this, I have watched Macra Terror but it’s been a while and I can’t remember him saying it that’s the problem I have with Classic Who I can never remember what happened after a year of two, Planet of the daleks was my first Classic who episode and I can’t remember a thing from when I watched it in 2021. I went on BBC iPlayer and it was there though I’m surprised BBC didn’t bleep it out.
Davis Bradley is the perfect actor to play the 1st Doctor.

I love how, for 7, the meeting borders on sinister. No happy-go-lucky yapping, no description of fun adventures and shenanigans... just... *"Tell me everything... and I'll see what I can do..."* - while the music takes a dangerous turn.
Kinda sums up the character perfectly. 7 is a pretty dark one.

I have to admit to a 'guilty pleasure'. When Strax 'paper trains' Clara by beaning her with The Times, it cracks me up whenever I watch it. I like Clara, I really do, but those times she gets too 'River Song' with the Doctor, I think of that rotating rolled up paper...🙋🏻♀️🗞️💥Whap! 😂
