You make me realize once again something I’ve always known. I am cut from a different cloth. It was the reading of books that the seeking of knowledge the understanding that marriage or materialism has its place but it’s not ever going to give you what you need beyond what it is. You’re fulfillment mountain is represented in me in the struggle that I put forth for myself and not a struggle that life has put in front of me. I can afford to be selfish like this because I chose this path and I know my direction with my internal compass. Others are afraid however I do not fear what they fear. What I fear is the life that they have chosen for themselves of being prisoners of their relationships.

Wow, this is the first time I’ve heard all these points articulated in one place. After completed my education becoming a Dr., having children, house, etc I realized I was on a “golden hamster wheel” like you called it. I became depressed and didn’t understand how if I made it to where I was striving for decades It could feel so empty. That was years ago, I read the Bible, Joseph Campbell, listened to Jordan Peterson, did a lot of personal reflection and actually came to the same conclusion. Men have to have a mountain to climb or continual journeys to travel or they are their worst enemies. I changed my career up, moved locations, invested more into family, created a business that was more rewarding than working for someone else, and am involved in the community and church to serve and help the next ones in line or those who can’t help themselves. Great video, just shocked me to for the first time find all of this I’ve learned in years from many sources in one spot. Thank you!

Loved this! Yes, this is the exact struggle I find myself in. Though, still at the point of questioning what is enough, when it’s time to switch over to the other lane. You’re right that it’s about 12-20 years. I have been going for about 10 years (just earning), and expect I can make it another 2-3 years before needing to ask some really hard questions about whether continuing is worth it.

The 2nd Mountain is the 1st Mountain. You set out in life doing what you love instead of trading your time for money. Money will come, but not at the price of fulfillment to build a man ready for all those things listed to be on Mountain 1.

The interesting thing for me is that I never made it to that first mountain at 55. I still have the $20 an hour job but I was always a creative person so I always created projects that made me happy even though they didn’t make any money. Here I am at 55 still looking for that first mountain and thinking that bitcoin will be my way. For me it’s hopefully going to be our reverse story where I find the second mountain 1st and end up with the first mountain in the latter half of my lifenow that I have learned the lesson I should be able to maintain that second mountain while balancing it with the first mountain

I spent my entire life working hard as a CPA not taking vacations, not enjoying life because I was told I had to. I never wanted to do any of it. I never wanted a smart phone. I was forced to have a smart phone by an employer. Despite a perfect employment record since graduating in 2002 with honors, 5 years public accounting in international tax, I cannot get a job and my life is completely ruined. The reason, I refused to commit accounting fraud. Because if this, my identity was compromised and deep faked and my life has been completely destroyed. I now plan to go on a mission of poverty to help people through the church because I cannot get a government agency to give me witness protection and I am afraid of what will happen to me and most of all because it is actually a chance to live my life how I want to live it!

Nah, don’t agree. Self made people become smart, create opportunity, find better ways to do things and become better at what they do. It’s called progress. True wealth simply buys time, what you choose to spend it on is up to you. Nicely explained though.

"Awareness" They could have made a lot of stories an amass, a lot of fortunes, at that time and sharing about such "awareness" that we are living in at "this second".

Losing feeling is not the worst thing it’s the precursor to what follows. At least in my experience. Because when u lose that ability you lose everyone around that ever meant anything. And if you’re experiencing this you better hope it stays that way. Because when you’re done running or flying the devil has an ace. One that most don’t think about. One he commonly plays if he’s focused on u. He gives you back the hands. And now that’s all u have , just the hands. And nothing else attached to them. It’s worst than not having them in the first place.

Your story doesn’t make sense you say at the end the man has to find something to restore but in the story the daughter suffers by the fathers way so conclusion is the daughter has to fix herself because dad already made the deal. I think the moral is never make the deal to begin with and always work hard and stay to your morals

Sorry, this is naive. I am 70+ yo, and did not make the 'bargain' but followed the 'second mountain' first to lead the best life for myself and others, with only modest financial success that attracted few. Your clients had made the 'bargain' first to acquire success and family that could then subsidize their transformation to redeem themselves. How about some 'missionary work' for those who early on recognized the devil and would not cut off their humanity, or to be better valued by the people around them?

Seems like when you dial back the “success” actions (like providing/making money) she loses respect for you and therefore attraction then too. I dialed back chasing money and now mostly stay home with the kids, still work part time in the military, and I try to rekindle that “before the minivan” spark too, and not getting that back much.
