Basically, I am just going to post videos about any one of the many things I do in my life. Mostly, it's going to be cars and autocross. Gaming stuff has moved to EastPrime. I might post music here or make another channel, who knows.
Can I Flip A Hybrid as Easy As Chrisfix?
This Hyundai Sonata used to be my siblings. To help them out I bought it for more than it was worth and then spent a few weekends trying to get its issues sorted out so I could sell it.. and hopefully not lose any money! Is it as easy as Chrisfix says?

I Bought A Toyota Matrix XRS!

This 2004 Toyota Matrix XRS is a Corolla Hatch with a 173 hp 2ZZ motor. A little known hot hatch from the early 2000s, this thing has a slightly better power to weight than the EJ6 Civic Si. I bought one to use as a family car! This is the same car as the rebadged Pontiac Vibe GT!

Hopefully this video is quick and helpful with just enough entertainment for a laugh! Part number for the 2004 car's sensor was 89465-06120 but for different years there are some different sensors. Cruising around Suburbia on a VFR800fi (HQ Audio)

Just me cruising around on the VFR. I bought this bike basically because of how it sounds. V4s are awesome. Recorded the audio with a DR40x shoved under the passenger seat with the gain turned to zero. You can do the same with a zoom h1, or many other dynamic mics. Honestly, I'm considering selling it. My 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT also have a clock springs failure. Very common. I noticed my steering buttons were randomly working. Luckily I had a scanner that told me the ohms rating on the clockspring. There was zero resistance and knew it was bad.
Ahh. What type of scanner were you using? That's exactly what I wished I could have checked with mine!
Absolutely love my matrix, thing is a tank. 275000 miles strong.
1:47 I could’ve told you it was clockspring before you bought an airbag. The forums will tell you. The 2015 Kia’s and Hyundais all had problems with their clocksprings
Yes I had the same intuition. I wanted to just have the shop deal with it so I could sell it as fast as possible. Wasn't meant to be a video. But they called me and quoted 1,000$ for a new airbag. That's when I took the car back and started filming. Unfortunately I trusted them. I learned my lesson. I also learned my lesson about buying parts online instead of going to junkyards to get them way cheaper.
3:15 As an owner of this 2009 250R and the Suzuki S40 The Suzuki is a single cylinder 650cc which has lots of low end torque and pulls harder than the Ninja on take off (same as the honda you mentioned) but top end the Ninja wins
@@ACommenterOnRUclips I'm surprised the Ninja still pulls ahead being that the S40 has a 400cc advantage over the Ninja, that's very impressive!
@@ErikSeastead That is a shock to me as well considering the size difference but that 650cc single thumper has some torque to it. That ninja has NO torque at all but has a lot of top end in comparission to the 650cc im going to assume that if it was a dual 325cc motor to equal 650cc then it would be a different story. From what i read, that 650cc single is not meant for high speed power because its only 1 piston working and on top end its all by itself trying to accelerate where as the 250cc being two 125cc pistons, you got 2 pistons working together side by side
these sonata hybrids are actually so nice to drive but when they break, the parts for them are more expensive than BMW and Mercedes.

The hard part for me is getting the rhythm right of going in and out of the pools
@@pretzel1313 and sometimes the floor isn't flat which can push you out of the pool vertically. My best advice is that you should really practice this on dolphin with a savestate before the flight and get the first pool perfect every time. It'll reduce the variation for the rest of the flight and make everything much easier.
Scotty Kilmer will love you
Very smart young man.
That's dope, I just sold my slammed 94 accord and bought an 03 Matrix Awd and it's fun as hell 😅
Looks like she is absolutely capable of cruising on the highway at 70 to 80mph
@@nahanng7791 absolutely, but you'll not really be able to quickly pass anyone at that speed!
@ErikSeastead got it. But i also see you got to 70mph then proceed to get up to over 90mph. I think that would be sufficient enough to pass certain cars right? Of course not as easily like a 600cc or 1000cc for sure
You can definitely pass but it probably takes a whole minute to get from 70 to 100 (indicated) which is likely like 90ish on gps.
Bringing more attention to a turd before polishing it.
I thought those were awd
There is an AWD version of the Matrix but it comes with a detuned 1zz and it's very slow. You could probably swap in a 2zz to the AWD chassis but I don't know how good the AWD is anyway. Could be an interesting build though.
Wow this kid is annoying

Wait til you gotta buy parts for that .. I have a 99 and parts are scarce but sometimes you’ll luck out and find 1994-1997 accord parts cause they’re pretty much the same
Yeah parts have been a bit scarce for sure. But we aren't trying to restore it, so it hasn't been too bad just letting it be a beater.
Another superb video, Erik! Well edited & you remembered to provide the mm size for each bolt. Suggestion, respectfully: remember to include proper torque specs when indicated. Just 2 cents from an OG
As an OG of 70, married for 50, you married well, Erik! The fact that she’s supportive of your hobby/obsession is indicative of a nice, long marriage! Your driving confidence with the car is improving noticeably with each pass- congrats! enjoy your videos!
Yes, I’m jealous of your hair! I had as much as your age…enjoy it while you have some! I bought the first MR2 Spyder in Texas in 2000. Traded it for a BMW M3- kids! Now…I’m looking for another MR2 for weekend fun.
Nice video! I have an EX500 (2006) barn find that I picked up a while back, and its a work in progress, but low miles. How durable are the 250 engines known to be? I seem to see quite a few of them on Marketplace with "bad engines". Is that due to owner abuse or due to it being a fragile design? I'm curious as they kind of intrigue me and are cheap to buy.
@@JamesLaman-d1k I've not seen too many issues, and never had any myself. But, I also didn't put that many miles on the bike, just around 4,000. I liked my Ninja a lot but I wanted just a bit more oomph for highway duty. Always fancied trying an EX500! Hope you can get yours roadworthy soon.
I agree with your assesment about modifications. Keep it simple….do basic maintence and get to know the car first 🎉
Like it? I sold mine in April.
It's great! A little smaller than I expected in terms of the car seat. Shift action is pretty unfortunate... I'll try changing the fluid in the box but I'm concerned that some of the synchros are on the way out. That's my only problem with the car at the moment.
Spyder, Sequoia, AND a 2ZZ Matrix? This is a man of culture.
Haha early 00s Toyota is just so good
Can't hear it

The subtle dry humor adds a nice touch. Good video guys.
My dad has two mk 3s, he's currently working on putting a turbo in one.
Id love to turbo my 1zz. But I think my long term plan is a 2AR swap.
Cool!🎉
y no stagger tires
@@trv88r Because we can only change one swaybar in E street. The front gets stiff so it would tend to understeer. The best way to increase front grip is to run bigger tires up front. The Spyder just happens to be well balanced on square tires.
I’ve been slowly rebuilding my first gen Tacoma and I’m wondering where you get your parts? Do you think you could put some links in the description? Love your videos! I’ve been learning so much and I love the whole troubleshooting process!
@@littleeggplantboi2572 I generally just buy Toyota parts from a dealer. I was originally planning on keeping this truck for a long time but I had two two seaters when I had my kid and I couldn't sell the MR2. I do really miss my taco. Maybe I'll get a double cab one day.

If you are doing tight stuff you really want an LSD out of our UK factory spec MR2's we got here.
@@threepotMR2 not allowed to modify the diff in this class unfortunately
@@ErikSeastead What about fitting a full UK spec gearbox?
Super extra illegal. Even if I had a whole UK car it would be considered to be modified as the spec is specific to US cars. The idea is to keep people from spending a lot of money importing things. If I wanted a diff I could move up a class but then I'd be competing with ND2s, which is not a fair fight.
@@ErikSeastead They really are night and day different to drive with the factory helical diff. Open diff ones you have to really be patient, but if that is all you have then its how they are. More camber is king too on these cars.
Yeah I'd really like a diff, but the long geared 6 speed would hurt at Autox. The second gear ratio on the C56 is perfect for the sizes of our courses. Eventually I might throw class to the wind and just do whatever I want. But I need to finish in the trophies at the end of this season first. 😁
Hola como estas
Just went to dealership said our 2010 Scion XD lower control arm and bushings are going bad. They told me the TRD tire rim modify is causing this. Told me the tires are too big. We bought the car new, added the rims, and nobody ever said that the tires are damaging the car. Have you heard this? Toyota wants to charge us $2,402.42 to replace the bushings. Thanks for making this video.
A larger wheel and tire could apply more force to the rubber bushings, but I don't necessarily think it would cause that much wear. These cars from the 2000s are getting old and it's relatively normal for the rubber to wear out. Dealerships are very expensive, if you can find a local shop to do the job, they'll probably charge a lot less.
Time to do a ABS sensor on the Chevy Van again...this time the other front wheel ...lol...hint hint
Lol here we go!

what did you mean "not suppose to drive at full soft or stiff couple hundred miles"? break in period?

Did you have to drain the transmission when you took out the axles?
@@waleedrydhan6411 I did not take out the axles, but if you do then yes you'll have to do that
