Any fish, if hungry enough, will eat whatever it can fit in its mouth and i dont see why it would be any different for sharks. This poor man was in the wrong place at the wrong time with a very hungry white shark. We might not be their preferred food but clearly we are on the menu if the shark is big enough and hungry enough

The only discrepancy that’s common with this attack is people saying it’s a super deep sheer cliff drop off. It isn’t. Ask any spearo or just check the depth charts publicly available he was taken in less than 10m of water which is impressive considering the attack was an ambush breach. We don't live in their world, therefor, we aren't a 'natural' prey species. But many individual sharks, and certain species, like the big three.. bulls, tigers and great whites, easily become conditioned to the fact that we are a very simple, slow, rather defenseless opportunity for predation. We cant move or inflict a defensive injury (without a weapon) like a pinniped, or whatever other prey they would normally need to feed on. It has become well known that many sharks, at times, associate certain places, like a high traffic beach, with a safe, very easy food source.

this is the worst place to go swimming...in front of the jetties and fisherman throwing out bait to catch fish. that's chum in the water, not to mention the water flow and currents close to the jetties that attract big fish and hence, bigger feeders.

After getting swimmer's ear. Im afraid to go swimming anywhere..
