I’ve just had a second hand one delivered today, cost £15. If you want a new one you have to buy attached to the wire that runs back all the way to the battery. I think it was over £250. Part number is CK52-14452-AB

Yeh, quite useful and packs away super slim, I picked it up at a classic car show back end of last year. I think it was about £20, they’re available on Amazon look for Telescopic chair. It’s actually not a step and has a warning on it saying it’s not a step and stuff like do not stand on it or use as a step……but I like a bit of danger!

Hi Anton, so I didn't buy the car, just washed it for a friend who bought it for sub £500 apparently. He has then gone on to replace brakes etc, even the rear bench seat as the stitching had opened up. The original owners got a new car which they used more, then because of lack of use the battery went flat which meant they couldn't use it without some attention, the next thing you know the brakes are seized and they weren't about to call out a mobile mechanic. My friend suggested he take the problem off their hands, the deal was done and I went in to extract. I hope you enjoyed this and part two. You asked about interior, the Celica was absolutely fine didn't even have a bad smell, the same cannot be said about the Renault Megan. Enjoy and thanks for watching.

I have to agree, it’s really grown on me, never really saw it as worthy of the Celica name given the rally pedigree of its predecessor though. Should this car have had a name of its own not associated with what came before. 🍿🫣

@@MrTechstyle 1) It still looks modern even though it's a 20 year old design. 2) It's a Toyota who have a legendary reliability record. 3) It looks great 4) It's cheap to buy and run in comparison with most other coupes 5) The load carrying ability is superb 6) It's fast. Yes there are faster cars out there but usually at a higher price and the Celica is as fast as you need for public roads 7) It has usable rear seats considering it's a coupe 8) It's a future classic 9) It's perfectly happy doing the shopping run as it is crossing continents 10) It's not a complicated car

Reading your list I’m comparing this to a Porsche and for the Porsche not as many points are valid! You have a strong argument.

You’re not wrong I wouldn’t want to push those tyres, both rear springs were snapped, you can see the rear is sitting low, looked kinda good but totally unsafe. The new owner has replaced rear springs dampers plus discs and pads all round.

Along with inspection of calipers, flexi lines, all fluids etc. the car needs complete recommissioning.

Absolutely, he’s in to motor sport so knows not to take chances on these things.

No, thank you, I appreciate the support. In general I was surprised by the build quality everything came up well, needed quite a bit of mechanical stuff but nothing you wouldn’t expect to have to do to a car of this age.

When I first saw it I thought, yes this will make a good video but I didn't really like the cars styling, by the time I'd finished the job in part 2, I really liked it, but the same thing seems to happen with every car I do, the more time I spend on it the more I like them. I have never washed a Fiat Multipla, can't see me ever liking that. It was an elderly couple, her car I believe, they said they had had the battery replaced but the new one had also gone flat at some point in the distant past. They had two other vehicles so I guess when they couldn’t move this one because the brakes were seized it didn’t restrict their ability to get out so there it stood. It’ll go on to be a nice car for the next person.
