considering putting this bike up for sale 1996 Kawasaki KLX 650d. I put the top end together about 3 years ago. standard bore all stock and new piston. Any pros / cons to running twins vs a single? I have a 06 2500 also in AZ and wanting to tow from PHX to payson 7k lbs
@@365AdventureCo. I'm glad you asked, with twins it's a little more complicated when towing heavy loads because they fight back and forth and you'll hear air surging and get boost gauge fluctuation. If you do plan on doing Towing you will probably be better with a single. I have a full single kit here for sale if you're looking for one.
2 question's, did u take a spring out of the wastegate and just leave the one in to get 7psi instead of 10? And with capping that line off on the right side of the valve cover should you do that with even oem stock injectors? Thanks.

Man alot of these 420a cars are long gone its a shame is there anyway a guy could acquire some of your legendary work? I got a 95 rs from my buddy that he built 13 years ago but it was done all wrong. Ive got a 2.4 that would be sweet to use. The car once dialed in will stay as is for as long as i own it which is forever. Nobody knows anything about these cars.

Can I still run it with Supra injectors without the fuel pressure regulator? I got the same set up but it’s demanding more fuel.
Yes the green top non turbo 7mge injectors do fit but there is a little bit of ghetto rigging you've got to do with the o-rings to make it all fit. I ran mine that way without a regulator for a long time but it did need more fuel over 6 lb of boost so I ended up doing the regulator which fixed that and got me a solid 8 to 9 PSI. The problem with that is it might be too much boost for the factory ignition map so colder spark plugs and tighter plug gap help as well as making sure you are running the best quality fuel you can get from the pump. If you add a large oil cooler for the engine then it helps prevent detonation as well by keeping the entire bottom side of the engine much cooler. I drove mine year round here in Phoenix Arizona with the AC blasting all the time and didn't have issues. Using a slightly bigger Turbo helps a lot to prevent detonation as well. The turbo I had used probably was giving a little bit more hot side pressure than necessary which will create detonation. This car is still alive and doing well and belongs to a friend of mine.

Can’t get past half throttle so came across your videos for help and got alot of good info. I can’t decide to get a Walbro 255 or 350 lph I guess more the better right? Then the Supra injectors are the last thing to get on the list.

I seen an old video of yours talking about your 420a turbo with an FMU setup. If I’m not mistaking it was a gt45 turbo with a 2.4l motor, lol huge turbo. Anyways im kinda thinking of doing something similar ? I know that psi they are safe for, im more so curious to see if it was safe to daily drive ? How where you AFRs if you Remeber

@@MrPhukyewhey so I seen some of the convos. And wow! I’m beyond impressed. Everyone says FMUs are unreliable. Yet you had 20-30psi, upgraded fuel pumps and an fmu setup !! Insane ! I mean how exactly did you do it ? I Remeber a comment saying it was the stock ECU and tune. Just injectors, fmu, fuel pumps and MAP sensor. How exactly did the car not blow up lol ? I mean without being tuned im just curious on how it accepted all of that being thrown at it.
Which FMU do you recommend the most ? People say blox is trash, I’ve heard good things from vortech and begi. only thing that scares me about begi is they label it as a FPR when it’s clearly and FMU, not sure why they do it.

Hey man is there anyway a guy could get ahold of you i dont have facebook and i hate to keep bothering you on here. Ive rebuilt many 420a engines i just cant seem to wrap my head around using e85. Obviously bigger injectors and an fpr with an fmu but do you just feel it out with a wideband until your afrs look good. Nobody at all seems to know your secrets and i dont want to run megasquirt. Its just funny how everyone thinks its a hack when it seems to work and work very well. I just would love to know more because right now im running an adjustable fmu with stock injectors on 5 lbs which is fine but id like to squeeze a little more out of it without worrying about leaving change on the ground. Im on 91 with neon pistons stock rods and a 255 fuel pump. Thank you.
Do not quote me on this, but if I where I guess I’m guessing he feeds it more fuel some how. Maybe he gets a larger FMU or a larger fuel pump. because e85 on a stock tune would probably lean out, so he might just raise up the fuel pressure ALOTTT for it to be somewhat reliable.

How exactly are you running on e85 id love yo know all of your secrets i wanna push my to the limits thank you i have many spare engines and parts
The naturally aspirated timing map on most cars that are unmodified will work for low boost on pump gas because it will be such a conservative tune. But if you want to raise the boost beyond that safe limit then you need ethanol in order to keep detonation away when you cannot modify the timing for the higher boost. You don't have to necessarily have a flex fuel vehicle to run e85 but you have to be aware of the ethanol content of your fuel which is why I keep on saying e85 instead of "flex fuel". Some gas stations that sell flex fuel are known to have the super high ethanol content of e85 most of the time rather than letting it flex down to a lower level. When you have a consistent enough fuel supply for this to happen you can just put in the right size injectors to meet your fuel needs with e85 and then raise your boost. You will not be able to run pump gas afterwards unless you put smaller injectors back in again. Being completely untunable like that and trying to run power levels like this I also had to bend the rules of the internet a little bit further. The computer judges your load level calculation based upon the amount of vacuum being read by the map sensor and decides how much fuel you are going to need based on a calculation of that versus RPM. When I take out the one bar map sensor and put in a three bar map sensor now the computer will not read full load until I am at 28 plus PSI boost. But wait there's more, the factory fuel pressure on these cars is 43 to 48 psi roughly and I get rid of the factory regulator and I put in my own fuel pressure regulator that's adjustable and I turn it down to about 20 PSI fuel pressure. Afterwards I add another part to the fuel return line which is an FMU or a "fuel management unit" What this piece does is raises the fuel pressure by 4 PSI per 1 psi of boost. This allows me to take out the factory 21 lb injectors and install 96 lb injectors. After that I put in some colder spark plugs and gapped them at about .020 and we've got a good drivable car with lots of power. The car in this video I think had a 2 bar map sensor and 550cc injectors because it ran less boost than my personal car. But still set up the same.

I'm using a SPA adjustable fmu at the moment and it works great I'm just ready to step it up but with only 91 and stock timing I have a good feeling it'll pop sooner than later without e85 to be honest.
