När jag var i Doolin fanns det två pubar med musik , öl och sång . Det var inte på Mc Dermott;s pub som jag var på. Efter last order stängdes dörrarna och det blev en slags jam som pågick en längre stund. Då kallades Doolin för folkmusikens mecka på Irland. Republiken Eire naturligtvis

Mickaleen/Micilín was a lovely player, and a great character, when I knew him in the 1970s/'80s - but WOW, he must have been fantastic in 1960!

i used to go fly fishing with roger at sutton bingham reservoir in yeovil,somerset.his reel broke at the foot and he wouldnt buy another one he just let it dangle by his feet.he was a good mate back then.r.i.p. roger,one of lifes true kind gentleman.

Mickaleen asked me to look out for a Hohner for him because he was finding his Paolo Soprani was getting too heavy, and I was surprised to find that one (with its grille missing) in Ennistymon a couple of days later. I took it to Nils Nielsen to tune it from C/C# to C#/D for him, but Mickaleen said not to worry about getting a new grille for it, he'd find something at the dump - and he did!
