these guys are more like 5.5
Thank you 🙏
This is more boring than watching wheelchair tennis.
We need a rematch!
@@tipsytennis For sure dude!
Excellent tennis by both of these young men!! Great technique and quick around the court from both! Love the Dustin Brown look and movement like Fed, against a smooth and versatile one hander who looks like a linebacker but so athletic and a quick on the court! Very high-level 5.0 play!! Keep grinding young men!! 👏👍
Lmao, a linebacker. That's a first. Glad you enjoyed 💪
A joy to watch (and hear) such clean ball striking. ASMR for us tennis geeks.
Lol, thanks Andrew! Glad you enjoyed 🙏
nice!!
Appreciate it!
@@TricksterKev I wish there is a way to find more 5.0+ players near where I live, it is really hard.
@@pencilcheck Lol, I wish for the same thing too here in NYC. I know there are for sure a lot of 5.0+ players here, but most of them are most likely burnt out from tennis after playing an insane amount as juniors, which is understandable
amazing set!
Thank you!
Great tennis boys, very high level of play!! Kev I believe you saved 4 set points in the tiebreaker alone!! Well done fun watching!!!
Thanks man, appreciate you watching!
Brilliant play, very entertaining to watch, Kev~ I will be recked by you if I am playing with you now lol
Idk man your 2 hander's is pretty nasty. Wouldn't wanna get into a crosscourt with you to that side lol
4.0 NTRP at best
When’s the YT showdown Mark ⚔️
True 5.0 match!
Bro, how to learn to play a forehand like that? That is a federer like forehand
Fed's forehand requires a very loose upper body and is pretty difficult to replicate 100%. I'm fortunate to be a pretty good visual learner so I just watched a bunch of slow-mo Fed vids and then just copy it in front of a mirror. Again, copying his forehand is not something one can easily do, and I wish I spent more of my time when I was younger focusing on strategy and consistency. Most of the time people will end up wasting too much time only for the end product to look awkward and stiff. Hope this helps, best of luck
Nice hitting. Must be hard to get courts in NY
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed, yea it's definitely a challenge
oh nice battle! wish i'm in NYC to challenge you and your players.

tough lost. Your opponent just landed big first serves when he needed them.

Lol, I'm only covering courts that I've had enough experience playing on to share input. I've only played in Staten Island maybe twice in my life
zecheng is my brother, and sadly he quit tennis. he should really go back.. he wouldve been so good
Wow, I had no idea. I agree
1.44- what a cack up! The easiest shot in the world, dumped in the net, this is why, you always scramble, that's what I do to my coach too, in rallies, when I look out of it, and sometimes she misses the easy put away shot.
What tier would you put Cary leads and Randall’s island? Other than the times we played at NTC, I always played at those places too
Those courts will be covered in Part 2 :)
@@TricksterKev looking forward to it
Randall’s island is S+ tier that’s my home 😂

Both of yall have great technique
Now it’s a party 🎉
This was no where close to 5.0
Hi Kevin, Question: the say the two hander is superior in pro tennis, do you find the same applies to the amateur 5.0 level such as yours? or perhaps its different?.., i can t help but notice in the pros you see them sliding a lot on wide stances and that gives an advantage on reach wich before Djokovic use to be a disadvantage, but thats the pros.. who train their strenght and flexibility to become super athletes, i don t think you see this at the 5.0 level.. , anyways us just a random thought of mine, any true to it?, do you find yourself being pick at your backhand more so than guys whit two hands?
People will always pick on the player's BH side regardless of level, athletic abilities, or whether it's a one hander or two hander. But I will say though that people are a lot quicker to assume the BH side is weaker if their opponent has a one hander than if they have a two hander.
@@TricksterKev yeah but you didn t aswer my question, in your experience do you see the same advantage to a two hander over a one hander at your level just like it is at the pros?, and if not why?, thanks a lot. take care.
@martinrosemary5654 Yes in my experience the two hander will always have the advantage over the one hander
@@TricksterKev ok, i once heard Mcenroe say that what made the two hander superior to the one hander in the end was the sliding to cover more court a la Djoko, since you don t see that much at the amateur level i thought it might be different. thanks.
it's not nyc without the sirens.. great view thanks for vid
Lol big apple vibes at its finest. Thanks for watching man
All these people... none of them all that interested in high level tennis play?
Lol, I guess not
Nice playing! Why are those courts "infamous"? They look beautiful!
i think it might be due to the typical wait times… heard people wait for hours because of their popularity
Exactly this, I've heard people wait as long as 3 hours for just 1 hour of court time. This hit was in the middle of the day. No way am I wasting 3 hours of my day waiting for a court
lacking intensity, it is. 4,5 or 4
4.5 not 5
Yo, TricksterKev! I am in Roslyn for the next few weeks and it would be an honor for me to hit with the living legend himself! I have a court at my house as well. Any day, any time you like - my email and IG are in my bio 🙌
Very easy instant subscribe after stumbling upon this
Great playing and beautiful courts! Where in NYC is this?
Thanks! This is at Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx
women's tank top 😂
How's it a woman's tank top?
Opponent needs to work on footwork and lateral movement to improve his game
Funny looking tennis‼😂
Funny how?
@@TricksterKev Bad technique & mechanics! Instead worrying about playing a point correct your flaws !
@@quentincrisp6933 What bad technique bro...also when playing matches you think about tactics, never about your technique
@@TricksterKev That's your problem! You're thinking about the point so you revert to your bad muscle memory! Practice technique & you will improve. I'm a great hitter playing in Ft. Greene, Hudson River & the 97th St. clay courts!
Thank you for sharing. Have to enjoy the journey to get the results you want. Who cares if it takes 1 year or 10 … or never as long as you make sure you are enjoying every minute on the court :)
Seriously, how are all of your opponents one handed backhanders? As a OHBH myself, I love seeing it, but this is just statistically so unlikely unless you reject two-hander friends. 😮😂
Lmao, nah I don't reject my two-hander friends. It's just whoever's available to play
Great play guys!
Don't really see a rivalry at least in this match. It looks like your opponent was out of gas in the second set. You look jacked by the way. Maybe I could use your workout routines. However, if you gain weight, it doesn't matter if it's muscle weight, it will slow you down and put more stress on your joins.
Thanks dude! Caloric surplus, progressive overload, and consistency is the name of the game. I follow the Wendler 5/3/1 program but honestly any training program that leverages compound movements and follows a simple progression path will get you plenty jacked. In regards to stress on my joints, I actually feel the opposite. I feel the gained muscles actually help my joints. I think it's highly individual whether it's harmful for the joints however improper form and not executing exercise movements through a full range of motion will increase the likelihood of stress on the joints
Always fun playing you man! I’ll get you next time lolol
I realize that this is an old video, but as a new subscriber, I can be forgiven (hopefully!) for commenting on Kevin’s backhand at the 3:30 point. To die for! Does not get any better.
I'm no where near your level, but the more I play the more I realize it all boils down to how hard I can grind and how long I can grind. Your techniques will level out at some point if not already. There may be some room for improvements in other aspects such as fitness, endurance, mental focus, ... I don't know how pros train their mental game, but they probably spend as much time in the gym as on the tennis court.
100% man. The biggest shortcoming for me was my endurance. In regards to mental focus, around early March, I actually re-read Tim Gallwey's "Inner Game of Tennis" and I think that really helped me maintain consistency in my level throughout a match. However, when the match becomes a cardio-heavy battle, it was hard to keep my thoughts organized as I was more focused on catching my breath lol. Given the limited time and resources I had, I unfortunately had to prioritize my strength training over my cardio so although that helped me stay injury-free throughout the journey, it made me weak in the endurance department
Don't know if you follow Karue's "Turn Pro at 30" series, he has an video where he talked about "How Improving My Fitness Is Taking My Tennis To New Heights At 30".
@@chubun6631 Yea I follow his pro journey series, inspiring stuff. Again I'm fully aware that stamina will skyrocket my game, however given my limited time and resources in NYC, I had no choice but to solely focus on strength training (better than nothing right). Still though, at my current level, I can beat college TricksterKev any time of day and that was when my "tennis fitness" and UTR was at its peak (10 UTR)
Sup Kev, I'm super new to your channel and only watched like 2-3 of your matches. But this video in particular gave me a lot of insight into your tennis journey and character development for someone who knows absolutely nothing about you. I also aspire to be a good tennis player and I know I have a shit ton to work on but it was kind of comforting to know that other players way better than me also go through the same kinds of struggles and processes. I'm from CT so I'm not terribly far from NY, but I have hopes of one day hitting with you. Peace bro.
Keep at it man. You get what you put in 💪
