Super duper beginner
Great breakdown Trevor. Keep them coming!
I have been taking drum lessons for a year now, I have been asking them to show me the shuffles you have been doing on this channel, they still have yet to show me how to do any of them. So thank you for putting this series of videos out.
Nicely done.. A related technique .... try searching YT for 'tony from austin texas shuffle' for a 3 minute video showing a similar variation of the texas shuffle also accenting the 'ands' on the ride that uses flams .. really, really cool .. a unique technique.. I have no affiliation ...I just loved it, use it and am passing it along to y'all.. rock on.
Is that an A&F Snare??? Awesome drums,I have one of their first kits, and having another set built now.

I have really bad hearing and I rely on hearing aids these days, and for me I've noticed that I can only tolerate so much with or without my hearing aids. It's hard to describe the difference I feel, and at times the sounds of certain tuning and even different cymbals can be painful. I listened with my hearing aids throughout, and the various tuning of your snare were without bleeding. I still love to play, but sometimes my ears won't allow me to play. Enjoy Drum Brother! Is your Gretsch a Broadkaster? Thanks and Blessings Trevor.
@@tmaddrummer yes that kit is a broadkaster love it i am fortunate to own 3 gretsch kits sorry to hear about your hearing drumming and music in general can be hard on the ears
@@trevorgollagherdrums4610 Since I was a young boy, I was around just about everything that makes a lot of noise, and went on and on throughout my life, and I'm not complaining because I'm blessed to still be able to play. I have a Broadkaster that I really enjoy! Thanks and Blessings Trevor!
Kit sounds great!
Keep rock'n!
Just starting to learn drums and guitar again, I enjoyed this lesson, subscribed. Thank you!
Thanks for subscribing if you have an area of drumming you would like me to do video on let me know thanks again
It’s interesting isn’t it, as we go along our drumming journey, we explore or learn more intricate grooves and patterns, some rudiments and the like, but if we choose to stay with or play rock pop country or some blues etc, these beginner or basics beats as we call them, become our staple....the money beats...tried and tested...
quite interesting compared to conventional pop techniques so i much prefer it already.
The sound of your voice is very low compared to the drums! Maybe have a mike for your voice, then turn it off when you play the drums

My favorite of all time was a pair of 13" Zildjian A's I had in the late 60's early 70's. Today I use a set of 14" Zildjian A Mastersound top(1017g) bottom(1450g). A secondary set of a 14" Paiste 502 top(697g) and a Sabian B8(1131g) bottom. A third set of 14" Sabian B8 top(955g) Paiste 502 bottom(1201g).
Paiste Traditional medium light hats 15' or 14" Paiste dark crisp
I do like 16 inch hihats (K light)and I have used two 18 crashes as hats also I like the lower frequencies of bigger hihats. My favourite hihat stand is the Yamaha Crosstown
@@jarrahdrum yamaha crosstown are very light
great cymbal
Still the most impressive piece of snare work imo is the great Krupa on ‘Sing, Sing, Sing’. Much imitated but still unequaled. The basic feel for that piece, the Tom Tom work mainly, still surfaces every few years in some form or other. The last two choruses are all out attack. Anyone not familiar check it out on ‘The Benny Goodman Orchestra- live at Carnegie Hall’. Brilliant.
@@llewstrutt150 krupa was amazing one of the greats
Thank you for this great information.
Your very good
Greetings
Sounds great, thanks for the demo!
You look very similar to famous musician from my country. Just type on Google: Zika Jelic. Great drum sound anyway.
U have a little to much ring on the snare!!! Dial it back just a bit.....
no, perfect!
Yep i like the snare ring adds colour sonically
I have to agree, it is a bit much! Apart from that it sounds positively Bonzoesque!
Old school is bold school
Love it!!!!
nice sound bt the way
