Discovering Lower Delaware's Charm | GSX-S1000GT Adventure
We need more of this. Thank you.
I know what it's like to need help on the side of the road so I stop whenever possible.
Some mean but beautiful landscape out there. Looked up the location of Big Bend and didn't realize it was right up to the border. Mighty chilly there today. 28-15 degrees. How's the 1000 running? Mines in the garage on a tender. I don't mind riding in real cold weather, but even if I ride 40-50 miles, my bikes don't warm up sufficiently to burn off the moisture in the engine and always find lightly milky colored oil. Hate it. My DR650 had lots of moisture and took 4 oil changes to get rid of it. Anyways, good video and enjoy your rides.
@@FrankBonessa it's cold in Texas. I hear Houston got some snow. My bike is sadly waiting for me in the garage. I can go out in 30+ degree weather but I don't want to. Engine temp is a concern. I was running between 170-180 with an ambient temperature of 45. Lower than that and I think that my engine will also start to produce mayonnaise.
@@FullThrottleExistentialist Funny, 3 years ago, I bought a new Z900 in February here and rode it home. It was 28 degrees F. Probably the coldest I've ridden in. Once you figure in the wind chill and you're in the single digits. The Z runs rather warm, so no mayo. Good term. The 1000 gt runs even hotter. The fan kicks on at 221 F. The Z around 213. Should have them both flashed so in summer the fan kicks on earlier. Did a little research and for every 1 gallon of fuel burned, 1 gallon of moisture is created in the combustion process and it takes some real heat to burn it off.
Yikes! 28F with windmill is a definite NO! Mine is tuned. Now, in the Summer, the fan kicks on even when it's off!!! (Joke - gets that hot here in Texas 😂)
@@FullThrottleExistentialist That's why it's one of the best places to ride in winter. Idaho is over rated for riding. Limited amount of paved state or fed. highways to ride on. Freezin' or fryin' Even dirt roads ain't that great. Cali. may suck population wise, but for sure a rider's paradise. If you ever noticed, back a while ago all motorcycle publications were centered in SOCAL. The song "It never rains in Southern California" wasn't too far off. Excellent.
@@FrankBonessa Cali did have some phenomenal roads. I agree. San Diego had the nicest continuous weather I have ever experienced. It's unreal, actually. I believe I spent two months in San Diego county and I experienced just about the same weather throughout that time!
Nice scenery, but you're not living up to your name. I didn't see "full throttle" whatsoever.
That's fair. I'm sure you can find a few of my videos that can attest to the legitimacy of my title 😂 Some roads are for carving and others are for cruising. I've got a few ideas for some sporty videos in the near future.
Interesting landscape and tunnels are always cool. Thanks for the route information. Just about any journey beyond my day-to-day routine is and adventure for me. The motorcycle makes it special.
It’s great to hear that you appreciate the route, especially the tunnels! Big Bend truly does have some unique landscape features.
any chance u can get an iphone dbmeter reading on that thing?
I'm possible! Androider. Kidding... I'll see what I can do.
Yet another great video of Texas on the GT. Thank you!
Texas is full of great places to ride and I'm happy to show them to you! I have another video on deck but I need time to edit. Luckily, no such luck today as the weather reached a balmy 55F. I had to ride.
Wow.. lookit that deep blue sky! As much as I love getting miles in on my sled here in this Northern Canada winter, this video made me want to jump back onto my GT prematurely! Thank you for another great video!
Thank you for the kind comment. I had to take a weather related break of over three days... THREE DAYS!!! I, finally, got to ride today. Boy was I smiling! I hope you get to ride again soon.
Just listening to the video was relaxing, great job!
Music choice can make or break a video. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Get a car play/android auto your phone looks like it's going to break or fall off
My phone is mounted to a damper on my Quadlock mount. It may look shaky but it is secure.
Very nice video, thanks s lot! Keep doing :)
It's comments like this that fuel my videos. Thank you!
Looks like a very nice ride on this scenic route. I appreciate getting the highway numbers so that I might repeat your ride someday. I also appreciate the time and effort it takes to edit together a video like this. Thanks!
Thank you. Appreciation does help fuel me to produce content.
I like the camera position. I'll need to try a variation of that. Thanks.
Thank you. Let me know how it works out for you.
Those look like great roads. My daughter lives in Oceanside and I will have to venture out that way soon. I have read lots of good stuff about the -8R. Thanks for the video.
The roads around Palomar Mountain are phenomenal.
I've never been to that part of Texas. Just one more in a long list of places that I would like to visit.
One can spend a substantial part of one's life exploring Texas and that's just fine with me.
I agree that the ride is what is important and not the destination. You have so many good roads to ride near Vista. Nice choice of music and great editing/production. Thanks for this video.
You made my day! Thank you for noticing the production. I'm still working on my style, delivery, composition, etc. California is gorgeous. The roads are magnificent. Elevation change, twists, turns, and endless miles of it.
I like the addition of the quotes. Nice added touch to beyond the normal riding video. Big Bear on HWYS 18, 330 and 38 are some of my favorite rides. Thanks!
I didn't know I would enjoy the Big Bear area as much as I did. I wish I had time to ride the loop in both directions. During my visit a cycling event was being held around the lake. I had to thread the needle around traffic.
I am enjoying the varied camera angles. I have been playing with a 360 camera on my bike and it's fun to see how others are doing it. Thanks.
Thank you! I'm trying to find my style. I have been disappointed with my GoPro for a while. Recently, I acquired a second 360 camera. So far, it provides the most interesting angles. Though I do like the chin mounted GoPro sometimes still.
Living vicariously through your riding videos while I wait for winter to pass. My bike has been in storage for 2 months now with another 3 months to go. It is currently 7 degrees outside. I own the very same bike and love it and cannot wait until spring.
I feel your pain. There was a time I was without my bike for almost 6 months. It was after an interaction with a deer. Back order parts made it so that I couldn't get my bike back for a while. It was torture! Thank you for watching my videos and sharing your thoughts. I have quite a bit of footage from my last few trips that I am finally processing. Stay tuned!
too much oil leads to white smokes in the exhaust
It was a cold start. Only vapor. Thanks!

I've replaced this exhaust with a full Lextek system. The bags go into the brackets on the rear of the bike. They are off in this video but I did use them with the Arrow silencer for a while without issues.
Excellent. 😊
Thank you! 😃
That's not an encounter, that's called stalking..lol

I have a Lextek full system now.
Great to see a lone dedicated rider on a GSXS1000 GT plus. Seen the video come up, but I'll watch it later. Got some business to attend to. Sounds interesting. Would like to see more shots of the bike sitting there. Still say they're better looking than a Kawasaki 1000 SX.

2024 gsx 8r in sword silver. Love it. Purchased mine in March 2024. Lovin every mile. Be safe,Enjoy the ride.
It's a gorgeous color. And, likewise!
Just got back from a 2500 mile trip on my red GT plus to the Oregon/ California coast on Highway 1. Did very well and got 41.3 mpg average fully loaded. Exact # of my Z900. Ran really good, but surges (Lean condition) anything under 3500 rpm. Gonna have the ecu flashed. You can tell this engine has more potential. Lots of compliments even tho it kinda looks like a sportbike. The side cases are really great. The blue looks really good. Cool video.
That sounds like an amazing trip! Yes, the bike transforms when tuned. I get lots of compliments also. Most people believe it is a sport bike. But, when the bags are on, they are impressed with it being a tourer. Next time I load it for an excursion I'll do a video.
@@FullThrottleExistentialist Sounds excellent.
Where will your next adventure take you?
@@FullThrottleExistentialist My laptop is freaking out. Maybe fly into Long Beach Cal. and rent an FJ1300. Or maybe Texas. In the 20's here for a while. Anywhere it's warm. Idaho sucks for riding.
I wouldn't recommend a trip to SoCal at this point. I am having a difficult time deciding my next destination. Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, and everything up to and including the Tail of the Dragon and regional epic rides... But I digress, my most immediate trip will be a return to Big Bend, Texas. For which I am having the WORST time editing the footage from the Thanksgiving trip! I need someone else to cut it because the landscape is so beautiful I don't mind watching it for a while.
has it catalyzer? but what a question because I think its has not lol
No meow on this bike 😂
Awesome
Thank you!
Looks like Old Castle and Lilac... great roads! Thanks for the ride. Do you still have your GT?
You know your roads! The GT is my favorite bike of all time. It isn't going anywhere but it does get a break from time to time ;-)
I got the yellow and black 2024 model! its pretty sweet! Ive rode it like I normally would I have about 500 miles on mine Ive been over that 4500 rpm about 50 times so far
I remember the break-in oil on my GT having a significant amount of metal in it. So did the second. Every oil change after that, aside from the oil being slightly darker, it has been metal free. Is that because of proper break-in? Perhaps. This bike has seen 7-8k RPM. I just don't want to start bouncing it off the limiter just yet ;-) The bike is a load of fun. Coming from a liter bike I thought that I would want for more power but I don't. Its fun enough and the twin provide so much usable power even when limited at 4,500 RPM... I can't wait to get the rest of the range. What I have experienced of it's power band is encouraging.
Im going from a GSXR1000R to a 2024 GSXS1000GT+, done with the sore wrists and elbow joints. Don't get me wrong even with that I looooovvvveeee my Gixxer, just started getting into more sport touring with friends which is far more fun so am switching up.
I absolutely love my GSX-S1000GT+. LOVE. I can't get enough. It is a sport bike if you want it to be. A touring bike if not. Or both at the same time. With a tune and full exhaust it is a beast! Do you have a channel or IG? Where have you toured through?
Nicely done! Where was the mic in relation to the exhaust?
The ZOOM H1 Essentials was wrapped in a rag and stuffed under the passenger seat.
Thanks for watching and the compliment. 😅
Where is this road? I live in Princeton and am always looking for new places to ride my GT+. I usually ride in Hunt County northwest of Greenville above 380.
This road is known as FM51. It is between Granbury and Glen Rose in Hood County.
@@FullThrottleExistentialist thx!
I thought the road looked familiar. I live North of Denton Texas but try to get out and around Glenn Rose when I can. I too have a 2024 Suzuki gsxs 1000 gt, I really like my bike. It's a great bike for the twisties. I'm an old sport bike rider so this bike fits me great, too old to lean over too much...lol. Do you notice the right ankle gets relatively warm on hot days? I had to go to high top shoes to stop this. Have fun brother may see ya on the roads someday.
@triprack I've been up your way once or twice. I have done the loop around Lake Ray Roberts and thoroughly enjoyed it. FM 455, if I remember correctly. My right ankle would get cooked on my stock set up. After installing the full exhaust it still get warm but not as bad as before. Hit me up on here or better if you catch me on IG: @GenXS1000GT
Joderrrrrr k bien suena!!!😂😂😂❤
Gracias!
That's a good little ride.
Thank you. It was.
Amazing, next time I need to hear the GT sound more
Thank you! I'll bring my ZOOM recorder along next time.

Damn rain! I hope you've had a chance to ride since. Thanks for the compliment and subscribing.
Awesome video!
Thank you! Much appreciated!
Bike sounds bodacious. Have a '24 red one. Love this beast.
I absolutely love listening to the engine through the Lextek full exhaust!
@@FullThrottleExistentialist I'm sure it pulls hard with full exhaust. From the factory, mine's pretty well restricted.
@@FrankBonessa It sure does!
Nice. What part of SoCal are you riding in?
I'm in the Vista area. Riding in San Diego, Palomar, Borrego, and outside of LA.
That's not the +. For it to be the +, it would have the hard bags. I have the +, first year release in '22, had to wait 5 weeks for delivery of the bags and mounting hardware, but Suzuki sent me a gift package for the wait.
It is the +. The bags aren't installed but you can see that their brackets are. Enjoy!
Hi my friend I just bought gsx s 1000 gx I am wondering if buy Arrow full exhaust or M4 full exhaust What is your opinion
I only had the slip on Arrow silencer. I switched to a full Lextek exhaust instead. It's not as loud as the M4, I think, and it doesn't melt the bags.
@@FullThrottleExistentialistdidn’t have to get a tune after installing the lextek
@@stevensoldano2763 Supposedly, no tune is required. However, to truly get full potential, a tune is highly recommended. Aside from the power improvement, the throttle response improvement is truly what made a difference.
@@FullThrottleExistentialist so tune isn’t 100% necessary unless u want the full top speed of the bike. So I can just change exhaust the bike will still be super fast
I don't know about being "super fast" but I know that a tune isn't required but it is highly recommended.
How is it on corners?
Corners beautifully. I switched to a 55 profile rear tire and she drops in even quicker.
Do you have a link to where you bought this system? I want it so bad for my GT!
www.lextekproducts.com/models/Suzuki/GSX-S+1000+GT/2023
Where to buy this in the US? I want it! Perfect sound! Not too loud and not too quiet
facebook.com/groups/suzuki.gt.owners/ You have to go through Paul Hutchingson. He developed the exhaust. Works for Lextek.
Tune or no tune?
Tuned.
Great video, was expecting a few twisties though 👍
Next time!
