I don’t always know what I’m doing, but I know that I don’t always know what I’m doing and that is just as good as knowing what I’m doing...I think. you can find me on Instagram @Foxcanfixit or email me at foxcanfixitshow@gmail.com
I just found a car on my bucket list!
Everyone’s bucket list is different. For some it’s sentimental, others purely performance based. Mine? It’s quirky based, the weirder the better, and it doesn’t get much weirder than the one I was able to drag home recently.

Jeep Cherokee (XJ) and Comanche (MJ) control arm swap
Просмотров 20814 дней назад
Stock Jeep wheels have a really deep backspacing/offset that tucks the tires up under the vehicle. On older Jeep Cherokees and Comanches this means tire rub if you go with a larger than stock tire. Luckily, many jeepers years ago figured out a cheap solution and they shared it on a lot of the Jeep forums. So follow along and watch how to fix this problem for about 50 dollars.

Quit digging... you're gonna find more stuff!
@@OlysGarage it’s getting: head milled, valve seals, balance shaft delete, new timing chains, jet valve delete and a carb
@@Foxcanfixit funny how things seems to snowball quickly!
@ yeah, I was already there and the original chain guides are cracked really bad and chain tensioner is fully extended, might as well.
Probándolo si hubo diferencia notable??
@@angelgustavomoraleshernand3732 it made a huge difference. The shocks made for the tall lift kit were too stiff and bottomed out once the lift was removed

@@Foxcanfixit I'm going to suggest retaining the balance shafts - put in new "bearings!" They cancel out second order vibrations in big four cylinder engines that cannot be balanced out. Use the head gasket for the Starion/Conquest as it's built to hold the 2.6 turbo engine together and is about the same price. Your jet valve eliminators are a good second choice, only to a new casting, two valve head. You still have a steel insert in an aluminum head, which can lead to cracks down the road. Lastly, make sure your cooling system is in top shape, particularly having the stock radiator rodded out, they're old school copper and brass. The Raider/Montero came with a three row, not sure about the trucks
@ radiator is new now, it died this summer, I did get the better head gasket I think, my daughter drives like a grandma so it never goes above 3200 rpms so I want to try the balance shaft elimination mainly just because I want to see what difference it makes. I will keep the shafts in case I don’t like it. I know it also reduces engine bearing life, but this thing will prob need a rebuild in a year or 2 anyway
Stick the valves through a piece of card in order, would hate to see you knock em over n mix em up
Мне интересно как ты балбес маслоки вытащитшь где компенсаторы или стаканчики
Thats bot a test for the tools. Actually use the tools and its not gonna be a good unit to do even medium diy jobs
@@GreaseMonkGarage it definitely isn’t for industrial use. It runs good enough for my use, but I would not use it for painting

@Foxcanfixit 😂
After cleaning the head, use some 2 stroke oil (red one) and run a fine line of it around every where. I stress fine line. Then use a pane of glass and lay it across the head youl see any low points with ease. Other way is cover it with some felt tip or engineers blue (prussian blue) and bicarbonate based toothpaste smeared on the glass and move the glass with a lapping motion. Bicarb toothpaste is fine enough not to damage the head but will polish off the blue/pen. I know im probably teaching a granny to suck eggs here but if anyone is interested 😅
@@LumisArms those are some good DIY ways to check flatness
This a great representation. But what part is this? It looks like a distributor but it also looks like a brake drum when you take everything off.

Aluminum heads have to be planed or you risk breaking bolts. I’ve always checked valves seats for sealing, valve stem seals for leaking and any adjustments (shims/tappet/lifter). Hm, a deep clean wouldn’t hurt. 👍🏻
Those Mitsubishi engines are pretty tough.
@@RealWorldGarage yeah, now that the head is off I’m contemplating balance shaft delete
