I seem to remember public libraries having mylar hardcover versions of what were otherwise paperback exclusive Star Wars books such as X wing, Jedi Academy trilogy, YJK, etc. These were not the turtleback versions you sometimes see of YJK but they looked like what you have here- a cover proof that was laid out in such a way that was sort of Frankensteined into a hardcover binding. They lasted a long time and were very durable. I’ve never seen anything like them for sale on the secondary market.

You know ive said this many times but why cant Disney Let THE EU continue as it was going and also have disney canon exist They do it with the mcu and the marvel comics so why not star wars Why would disney care if the fans chose THE EU and ignored Disney Canon theyd make money wither way Have there be TWO CANON timelines THE EU and DISNEY CANON Theyll bith be CANON but just not canon to each other I guarantee you if disney did that everyone who criticized them would stop immediately because theyd focus on the timeline they like more while ignoring the other its that simple At the end if the day DISNEY IS THE ULTIMATE WINNER they make money regardless of which timeline people choose i promise you that Want this war between THE EU Fans and Disney Canon Fans to end ^^^^ do that what i suggested

I will say this right now if Disney brought back THE EU and let it continue as it was going change nothing, respect it and treat it with the upmost respect AND still made Disney Canon stuff id have absolutely no issues with Disney at all Basically what I'm saying is let there be 2 timelines THE EU timeline and Disney Canon timeline Let them BOTH BE CANON but just not Canon to each other with no crossovers and so on Let the FANS CHOOSE which timeline they like more because if they did this Disney would ultimately Win in the end because who cares if everyone chose THE EU and ignored Disney Canon Disney gets money they win in the end They do this with Marvel they have THE MCU and the Marvel comics they run side by side so why can't that happen with Star Wars

Great discussion. You made me think about aspects of this that I'd not considered before. My biggest takeaway is the point that a continued EU would likely take a different form than that which we knew before e.g. the High Republic project would possibly be a template. I usually just think about continuation on the surface level as a binary yes/no debate, so it was very interesting to hear you get into details like that. A pleasure as always to listen to your thoughts Christopher :)

I think a long-term continuation of the EU is extremely unlikely but I do think it's possible we could get a handful of releases to tie up loose ends. Maybe 10 projects (books or comics) to wrap up some of the major loose ends. Certainly Force Unleashed III needs resolved and a few books to bridge the gap between Crucible and the Legacy comics. I'm sure there are other loose threads but I can't think of them at the moment. Possibly Knight Errant and Dawn of the Jedi but those weren't super popular.

Neat!! I've just got the original main release hardcover copy, with Anakin and Padme on the cover, in great condition with one of those plastic covers over the original dust jacket that libraries put on them; got mine on eBay for a great price!! So glad I found it!! Got the Approaching Storm and Jedi Trial novels along with it, if I recall correctly, also in great condition, from the same library I think!! Man, I love the old SW EU!!! Long live the EU!!! May the Force be with you!!!

As a life-long SW fanatic who is very detail oriented, it always kinda bothered me how they and others sometimes incorrectly referred to the Sanctuary Moon of Endor as "Endor," which is an entirely separate planet in Universe!! Hahaha!! Even on screen in Ep.6 ROTJ, it's called the "Sanctuary MOON of Endor!" Moon being the operate word here!! Hahaha!! And "The Ewok Adventures: The Battle for Endor" title didn't really help the issue, as it was set on the moon and not the planet!! Hahaha!! The Ewoks themselves lived exclusively on the moon! Fun fact: Did you know that Endor was an actual ancient place mentioned in the Holy Bible, where a witch came from?!?!?! Hence, why there was a Dathomir witch in the "Battle for Endor" movie as one of the main antagonists!!
