This SC Waterfall Hike Should be Your Next Adventure | Eastatoe Gorge

In this video I'll share some of the stuff that made our hike down the Eastatoe Gorge Spur so unique, and you'll get to meet a friend of mine, Adam, who is an incredible poet, photographer, and has a deep appreciation for the Foothills of SC and NC.

This was a beautiful video. I never thought about “the crown” before but it makes so much sense how some ground flowers/plants take that opportunity to grow and bloom before the leaves come in on the trees above. This was really awesome. Loved it!! Thank you for sharing!!

It's mind-boggling to consider that when these mountains began developing, the most advanced life form on Earth was algae. The Appalachian mountains have silently observed the gradual evolution of life on our planet. If only they could speak, they would share tales of the diverse species that once inhabited their slopes, the passage of time, and the everlasting beauty of nature. It is truly wonderful to walk this trail and have the sense that you are a small part of something much bigger than yourself.

Thank you for the memories, the first time I thru hiked the foothills trail it still had not been completed. There were sections with no bridges and temporary markings. I have thru hiked it a total of 7 times over the course of 10-15year time span back in the early years as well as enjoyed many short weekend hikes. I will cherish all the wonderful memories this trail and surrounding areas gave me.

Yes I did and again so many incredible memories from seeing wildlife like deer and fox to the many varieties of plants. Only ran into 3 people the entire trip first time out and it was a crew working on the trail half way between sassafras and laurel creek parking area. I was even fortunate enough to spend a day at white water falls when the helicopter placed the bridge in place. Such a wonderful area of our country. @@travelingpanda5108
