Just because using a drill might be quicker doesn't make it better. I did it using the wooden lapping tool and you could feel the process and knew when to stop and start. Im only an amateur but coached by a toolmaker/mechanic who made his valve compressor out of an old G clamp. The foot was grooved out using a hacksaw and file and It worked beautifully. The camera self focussing is still annoying.

Primer is hydroscopic, which means it absorbs moisture. It will not protect you jig from rusting, and will instead encourage rusting. This will also be the case for any primer you apply to your car. This will be further exacerbated by your outdoor shop and salt air enviornment.

Valve seats are a bit too wide and you NEVER use a drill to lap valves you're wearing them out ! You'll end up having to recut The throat angle and top angle ! You can buy a valve lapper to fit your drill , or use your hands . Those Valve tools are excellent if you remember to loosen off of the split collet sets by a tap with a drift and hammer ! I did c&g motor vehicle and extended modules , engine tuning , electronics etc , and have worked in motor vehicle and engineering most of my working life . It'll run but not optimally. Watching you is like a knife in my soul . Sorry

dont cut out too much at once. your sills as rusty as they r will stop the body from twisting. once that happens, the car is scrap. make up a brace across the sides and back to front of the car, to keep the body straight and true

Good hands on stuff. I'm watching this and your other videos with interest as I'm currently refreshing my 1000 Traveler at the moment to relieve lockdown boredom. I was disappointed not to be able to drive down from Lincolnshire to participate in the the Isle of Wight minor' owners rally last year. I would have removed the front end 1st before I started removing components in the engine bay, just for ease of access. Also I try and re-use as much as I can, e.g. I would rather have refurbished original panels. Patinaed original chrome parts are preferable to me than shiny new inferior ones that will soon rust. Also stainless steel fastenings may look pretty but are not as strong as steel. Same goes for using Whitworth bolts rather than AF (UNC & UNF) or metric ones: the reduced pitch angle on Whitworth threads makes them stronger. In short I use original types of fastenings where practicable, although BA bolts and machine screws are getting rarer to source. Keep up the good work

Great vid, its making me consider doing same instead of buying one all done. Have you considered a mobile sand blasting firm. I ve used these for an old mill in France and god it cuts through the grime so quickly and being outside the mess may be manageable!
