Thanks for the useful video. It's worth pointing out that on my car, a 2013 156bhp THP the caliper bolts are a hex socket head, not torx, and the carrier bolts require a female torx socket. Mine is a mk 2 RCZ with RPO number later than 11578

How do you get to the AC condenser on the RCZ to replace it? My RCZ is a 2011 GT THP 156 petrol. Saw your video on removing the front bumper. Would be great if you did a video on how to replace the condenser 🙏😁

Hi, this is a great video, really well put together and I had no idea these even existed, the quality of these bulbs looks to be incredible compared to ones you used to be able to get. You say the regs updated but I've read through them all and it still says that it's not allowed to retrofit LED headlights into halogen headlight units. I know it's unlikely to be picked up during an MOT but what do you think about this? Thanks

Hi mate..so the wiring loom for the camera isn’t there as standard.. was hoping it was 1 integrated wiring loom on all cars .

Hi Jon, Thanks for the video. By removing the plastic plugs (1:10 on your video) on the left side, a small black plastic hatch fell down (8cm x 5cm). Would you have an idea where this come from and what is it for ?

Wouldn't bother claiming against 3party as non fault axx as it will still negatively affect your insurance at your next renewal. Most insurers repair or replace the windscreen under your policy? repairs are normally free depending on who insures you, and an excess for a windscreen replacement.

You have nothing to lose by going for the other guys insurance and you have it on dashcam, so go for it.

Definitely claim off the other guys insurance… He created the problem for you, it’s only fair you claim through in..

Oh my God I'm so happy I found you!! I have an rcz an researched alot of media units for it then found a guy who was selling his kenwood system thingy that comes with the flush fitting front bit he told me it's easy to install I can do it myself.... 🤦‍♀️ I had to call a mobile mechanic to install it but he didn't install the GPS or the rear camera so gonna attempt it myself an your video explained everything perfectly! Defo subscribing to you!

Sorry but this is wrong. If the other party has admitted liability and so has their insurer then they have to put you back in the same position that you were immediately before their insured collided with your car causing the damage. I had this same thing happen when some silly cow reversed out of her drive hitting my car caving in the driver's door. I wasn't even in my car. Although the other party admitted liability in WRITING and her insurer LV admitted liability in FULL my insurer Direct Line wanted to write my car off and give me £200 from which they would deduct various costs so I would effectively end up with nothing. The car was a Ford Ka Mk1 in mint condition like new with only 5,500 miles in the clock as I inherited it from my Dad. I had a HUGE row with my insurer Direct Line who EVENTUALLY agreed to send an assessor to look at it at my home address. He was gobsmacked that DL wanted to write the car off and authorised repairs there and then which I had got a quote for from a local body shop. Anyway with repairs authorised I took it my guy and he did a great job and car was returned to it's pretty much new condition. I had such a hard fight with the monkeys at DL as I knew that if I let them have my car they would likely not let me have it back or charge or it could be further damaged by some knuckle dragger transporting it. What would have been worse the car would have been easily repaired and then sold through the trade and then appear on a garage forecourt as a 'time warp' condition as new Ford Ka Mk1 with only 5,500 miles in the clock £3k, I did NOT want this. In the course of conversation with the crooks at my insurer I told them I would just cut them out, get my car repaired and send the other driver/insurer the bill for them to pay as they had accepted liability. If they didn't pay I would take them to court. So in your situation I would just get your car repaired yourself and send the bill to the other parties insurer and request payment within 14 days otherwise you will take them to court and show all the evidence you have showing the culpability of their insured and also emphasize the admissions he made at the scene shortly after. There is no way your RCZ should be written off. It's all a con. You just have to stand your ground and stick to your guns. I think with yours if written off it would be cheaply repaired and then sold on through the trade or at auction and be back on the road in new ownership just not yours and you will have lost a good car and likely a lot of cash.

Gutting. Luckily looks easily sorted. If they write it off, just ask for a cash in lieu settlement. I.e, you keep the car, it's not actually written off but you get a pay out. Going forward, no it wasn't your fault but on roundabouts, never overtake anyone and don't drive on the side of people. Drive in a staggered formation, either infront or behind.

That sucks. Most of us have put lots of effort to keep our RCZs running. But be thankful you didn't get injured yourself, and it's 'just' plastic and aluminium.

the rcz is wide car and when big vehicles like that truck id wait behind it because every day you see people cutting corners. when he entered the roundabout you were still well behind him . i have a friend who is a fast response copper and he has seen some of my close call videos in my rcz he said just think stu your car is so much more capable than most cars round the bends that you arrive in places before people even think you are going to. so i do think outside the box and for other drivers aswell before i make decisions. the repair wont cost that much to repair its just surface repairs. i would have settled out for cash with the driver if it were me and not involved insurance.

Absolute nightmare! Something similar happened to me and my beloved RCZ back in 2018 when someone abruptly stopped in front of me without any obvious reason after entering the roundabout, but i managed to sort of brake just at the very last millisecond to realize that the lady driving her car become suddenly stationary with hard brakes (nothing was blocking or oncoming) me being right behind her - also entering the roundabout. As she just entered the roundabout (full size of car) and I was following her into it expecting her to continue as you normally would, she suddenly stopped as she entered the roundabout fully and I was looking to my right to see whether something is oncoming having the car at slight speed movement (there was nothing oncoming at all and i had free way - so i looked back only to see her stationary inside the roundabout). I applied hard brakes and although there was slight contact between our cars, there was no visible damage and we also simply exchanged contacts with her claiming only because it was not her car, but her employers - for work - and she will have to disclose the collision but agreed that there seems to be no damage on hers or my car. She then proceeded to claim damage on her car and also to her health (back injury i kid you not - even though she came out the car and talked to me for 10-15min walking around our cars no problem the whole time showing no signs of any injury), but when their insurance company car guy came to inspect damage on my car and couldn't find any evidence except slightly moved bolts (looked like) of the front bumper on the inside when he opened the engine compartment, they immediately dropped the health claims - there was obviosly just slight impact that couldn't hurt her at all, but not the damage to their car , i kid you not 3.6K for apparently replacing the whole back of their car - i guess her employer also wanted to milk it for what its worth and fixed his car for free. I was quoted 1.2K for replacement of the front bumper due to the slightly moved bolts on one side, but of course I didn't claim as there was really no damage and car passed the MOT no problem. But I'm not surprised they will not fix yours either. In their mind the car is worth what, 3-6K? The repair would be probably more and no-one cares about destroying something beautiful that you put in a lot of work into if it can save a tenner or so for them. Car Insurance is just another form of legal theft forced upon us - but you can never rely on it, it's money out the window. And I say that as someone who had he not have had the insurance in 2018 would pay the other party 3.6K in damage, but I paid on insurance in 19y that I drive with this being the only instance of "my fault accident" around 20K total for sure. It is totally useless and you will better be off with building you own emergency acc. for such purposes yourself (pay yourself own insurance per month into your own "insurance acc" every month) and would likely just use it one day as retirement fund having there extra 50K or so once you retire. Best of luck nursing your RCZ it back to health, she a beauty!

That's a heartbreak for sure. From what I've seen from you, I'm sure it will end up alright, with work and positive attitude, but it's always a heartbreak to see our RCZ damaged. Wish you well and smooth recovery. ;)

I’ve got a RCZ from 2011 but when i paired my iphone i only get the option radio and AUX. Do you have a suggestion what i should do so that i can listen to music?

You have a truly beautiful and unique car, thanks for sharing. I bought my mum an RCZ, she absolutely adored it for years, and so did I. She passed away February '23 and everyone tells me to sell the car, I just cannot do it. I go and sit inside it listening to her music and still smelling her perfume in there. I try to take it out each weekend and when I do it makes me smile, the joy of the car and the happy memories of her loving it.
