Nice to see, and a good parade, the Germans will travel miles to see a good parade. One question please, never have I seen the Drums at the rear of the Band before this? Why is it in this case.

Remembering my friend, Rgr William (Wully) Best, Korea Platoon, St Patrick's Barracks, Ballymena 1969/1970. Along with Rgr Joe Herron we used to tour a couple of bars before heading to a dance at the Parochial Hall. Some of the local town lads used to take exception to us...

It's a great video but at the start it's the Royal Irish Regiment not the rangers I am proud of my service and every one seem ashamed to show the home service battalions who Earned the CGC It should be the surviving Irish Regements as it shows the Rifles the Faughs , Rangers and the skin's but No UDR CGC . But showed the Royal Irish Regiment as Rangers. please Remember there is another regiment which makes the Royal Irish Regiment in 1914 the call came to Ireland and in Ulster they raised 11 battalions of the Rifles Faughs Skins and They served with pride . Again in 1970 the troubled years of Northern ireland and then the Ulster Defence Regiment raised another 11 battalions. don't forget us guys from the republic and from both sides of the comunity served with pride. Remember those who gave their ultimate sacrifice in our own country Northern Ireland FAUGH A BALLAGH

@therangersson Well done. All insignia cover badges compliment a uniform. They are sought after , in trade, by other Regiments and foreign military units. I once tried to trade mine with a Color Sgt,, British Royal Marines. He wouldn't swap. Semper Fi !

I gather you don't have to be Irish to belong to this regiment. So why call it Irish?

    • @SvenTviking

There are a lot of lads from Northern Ireland, the Irish republic and Liverpool lads with Irish blood.

My dad served with 2nd battalion until they amalgamated. He then took the green beret as he didn’t want to stay in a regiment that wasn’t his. He is a Liverpudlian with Irish blood.. very proud
