I am struggling to delete it because I'm afraid I will feel lonely and bored however I'm so sure it would be the right choice for my mental health. I've got ADHD and social media is such a huge trigger for me.. I'll get carried away with all kinds of topics, opinions, people that eventually irritate me.. Because thats whats happening I get very annoyed by the fakeness that people post.. Sigh, when I read this back I just know that I have to do it but it's such an addiction also

I totally agree with you, sis, except for one thing. I don’t think we as humans can protect the Earth or save the planet. We have no power over this planet. The only thing we are capable of is destroying ourselves. When that happens, the Earth will thrive, and another species will dominate the planet-just like how the dinosaurs lived on this Earth for more than 150 million years. If a meteorite can destroy a dominant species but not even scratch the Earth, it says a lot. There have been many mass global extinctions, and the Earth has barely a scratch. It will keep orbiting the sun as it always has. We just need to focus on ourselves. And I’m totally with you on your point about the quietness. I love peace and no noise-it’s so blissful to be in that zone.

I agree with you 100% and what you said about that need the child would have from you is repulsive in a way, it's not weird for me to hear as I feel the same. Also pregnancy and giving birth absolutely disgusting to me. My now ex husband made me feel like I'm not a real woman because I don't have that natural desire to go through that. Sad really. It's always so much easier for a man to become a parent so they handle this subject so carelessly. Our marriage ended because he wanted kids and I didn't. I also tried to make myself want it but I knew I was losing myself with every forced positive though about motherhood. In the future when I'm ready to maybe get into a relationship again this topic would be one of my first questions so I wouldn't waste my time and the other person's time also would save a lot of heartache and disappointment. We live and learn❤

The part that has me derp the most tbh, is all the "Just try it!" people. Like, okay... so you're saying that I *can* dispose of a kid if I dislike it? No? I'm legally responsible and would be punished if I did? Then *how* is that "trying"? I can "try" an ice cream and throw it away if it was horrible. Yet, all those people are all "Well... no. You *have* to accept it now!". That is NOT "trying". That is kinda that one friend in the group that is all "I'm willing to do any suggestion. *As long* as it's mine."

My teacher tried to convince me that we humans are made to procreate when I said I was a childree, he tried to convince me even though I explained that I have a genetic disease that would be passed on in a more serious way to my children. He used the card of "what do you consider healthy?" and I'm talking about mental and cognitive problems and risk of malformation. Two days later he was talking to another teacher about going to court to reduce the child support he pays his children and that he prefers not to go on vacation at the same time as his children. Daddy of the year.

This is so wild to me as someone who is also voluntarily childless. I have never had any pressure to have children but knowing me, I have no doubt at all that I would just dispose of anyone from my life if they did try that with me. I’m not a broodmare, so my reproductive choice is my own. If someone has a problem with it, they can make the choice to get out of my life and not engage with me at all, but I would never tolerate anyone who thinks they are entitled to or seek to control my body. Some of ya’ll need to change your circle of you can.

Hello to all. I think Oscar Wilde said it best: "Living as one wishes to live is not selfish. Expecting others to live as one wishes to live is selfish." So, if someone tells us we are selfish because we do not want children, then they are the selfish person.

I’m glad I had mine and would do it again coz I love who they are and couldn’t imagine life without them but I had them at a different time. In this day and age the world looks too bleak to want to introduce more characters into a world full of corruption heading straight to hell lol. The one (and only) guaranteed way to prevent all the suffering of children is not to bring them into this world of diseases, crimes, wars, accidents, natural disasters, old age, death, and all the unknown evils the future holds. ☮ At the same time, it's not a bad for them to not come into existence as those who don't exist can't suffer their own non-existence. I thought I wanted kids but really it would hold me back from all my dreams, ive just turned 30 and still not travelled much at all but that will change soon I hope, I also dream of living on a canal boat because I want to constantly travel and be in nature, and whilst I love kids and I will miss out on the joy of raising them, having kids means putting them through school which means having to stay in one location which sounds like a boring life to me.

I'm 57, and I'm GLAD that I chose not to have children, and I had my reproductive system completely removed in my early thirties to make sure that I would NEVER have children, and I'm not sorry or guilty about my PERSONAL choice!!! And I hate children and I always hated children since the age of 15, and I'm not sorry about that either!!! I've been told that I'm selfish for choosing NOT to have children, and I'll end up lonely and miserable because I chose to be childfree, and that I'm obligated to have children because it's my duty as a woman!!! I'm sick and fucking tired of being demonized and disrespected because I chose not to have children or live my life serving and catering to a man simply because I was born a female!!! The reason people (especially women) are so nasty to the childfree is that, deep down, they fear they’ve made a mistake. Most women love their kids but HATE being mothers. I have two different friends who have both said to me (after a few drinks) that having kids ruined their life. They love them, and would die for them, but their kids have ruined their body, their health, their marriage, their career, their dreams, their social life, and their finances.

Birth rates will continue going down. It’s not faith, or the lack of it. It’s not money, or the lack of it. It’s time, or the lack of it. What is time made of? It's made up of 4 elements when there's room for only 3 of them, unless you want to be heading towards fundamental dissatisfaction due to a lack of time - a dissatisfaction that can lead to burn-out and the destruction of a personality. The 4 elements are: 1) Sleep. 2) Work. 3) Family (children). 4) ‘Leisure’ (screens, reading, love, friendships, solitude, playing a musical instrument, personal development, etc.) Can you do without sleep? Obviously not. Cutting back on sleep is bad for your health. Very. Can you do without work? Yes, if you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. In other words: no, you can't. That leaves only two adjustment variables. If you are reasonable, you do what the watchdogs of reasonable living keep telling you: when you reach ‘adulthood’, you behave like an adult and drastically reduce the amount of time you devote to ‘leisure’, particularly screen time. But here's the snag: living an adult life, a reasonable life, is the best way to miss out on life. This has become impossible to hide.

If you are not intrinsically motivated to have children, then the most adult decision you can make for the long term, is to not have them. Critics be damned. I have never wished for children, and i will not be coerced into parenthood. My hope is that more young woman will be able to freely reflect over this choice in the future, because i subscribe to the notion that freedom is the ultimate and final good in this life.

You are only 31, so you have a plenty of time to change your mind for smarter decision. Even if you do decide to live a child free life, do not worry. The robotic grandchildren are already invented. They are being tested right now in Germany, in assisted living facilities for lonely old people. And by the way these robots are not that expensive around 50 thousand euros. However, by the time you and your child free friends need them I hope they will get even more affordable.👌🤣
