Hello again! Here's what I have in store:
Janet, you have big hands I must say. It must be extra helpful to play the guitar when you have big hands with long fingers.
ty so much
Good tips!
Thank you, can't wait to watch all the videos in this series, your teaching technique is much different from other RUclips video which is refreshing. I'm an older beginner (69) and can't get my 3rd finger to the 5th fret with index finger on 3rd fret. I don't think I have arthritis in my hands that might be limiting my range of motion, at least no pain. I don't want to move my hand because I want to be able to shred! 🤣
I'm 41 and just started playing. I'm definitely going to use your information for practice. Thank you 😊💙
You have a very sweet voice. We don't need to see your face that much. Thank-you! Great lesson.
Great ideas! Relax after every note and chord!
Now i am more confused.
I’m sorry. I try real hard not to do that to people. I’m noticing that this video is the third in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLpQLlt0LhKj8qqc7mwdkv4-UuZYuv4qQ-&si=oPGIXJArtTQnut1f it could be that when I recorded it, I was assuming you had watched the first and second video in the playlist. Have you seen those? If you watch those first two and are still confused, here’s my first suggestion: take just one part that you understand before you start getting confused… And use that for a while or ask me or let me know at what point you start feeling confused.… Like… Send me the numbers from the timer on the bottom of the video. I probably need to go back and label it. Part one part two part three. I’m sorry for the confusion.
@janetbrockman3729 that was a joke,i always have to count up or down to get to the chord, where some people just know exactly the right chord.I love to play a G progression with the capo on the third treat and my lead guitarist hate it.
Oh! Haha. 😆
You're a really great teacher! If you ever get a chance, could you show chord shapes and like how different shapes correspond? It's really a pain sometimes😅 thank you!✌️❤️
Yes! If I understand your question correctly… That is the next thing on my list. Of course, I’ll continue the two playlists. I’ve been working on, but as soon as I finish the safety rules, I’ll be sharing some really important info about chord shapes. If I don’t answer your question within a month or two feel free to ask again.
@@janetbrockman3729 Thank you! It's just idk if the chord shapes make sense sometimes,I just kinda randomly make shapes..it works sometimes, but I'm hitting dead notes and it's a bummer. Whatever you show will be great I'm sure,so no problem❤️✌️ thanks again
Great advice!! Many years ago, when started to learn guitar in my 20’s , I wanted to learn fast, so I practiced hard, in a short time. Not knowing how to play and when to stop, I got tendonitis very quickly. I continued through the pain, I didn’t know it was that that caused it! I should of stopped and rested and listened to what my body was telling me, but I was young and naive. I know warm up and stretch ( even though I am on a different instrument) to reduce my risk of injury . Exercise doesn’t have to involve a gym and killing yourself. A good walk is very beneficial for body and mental health. So great advice !!
hi, just wanna say that I really appreciate this series, and the safety one. I've been playing for a few years but these really help some things click for me.
I’m so glad you can see how it’s helping. Just wait till it builds more. It’s pretty exciting!
@@janetbrockman3729 looking forward to it!
Nice
Wow , you have an awful lot of musical knowledge, I’m sure if I start from the beginning of all your videos , it might give me a better understanding of this mysterious world of music. I wish I found this when I was going through my guitar phase ( gave up very quickly many moons ago due to lack of tuition and patience ) . I’ve now started my music journey a few years back, with Jenny and the violin . You are all an extraordinarily, highly talented family ! Thank you all for sharing your talents with us ! Have a great day
Great to hear from you! Just a tip.. my earliest videos are kind of random and in no particular order. So I wouldn’t recommend going oldest to newest. This playlist that you are watching here is the best for unraveling the mysteries. And of course my Become a Natural course fleshes it out more. What you learn in GME (guitar mastery exercises) will transfer to violin. On violin, it would be good to start with circle of 5th instead of fourths.
@@janetbrockman3729 Hiya , I will have a look at the circle 5ths and see if I can make heads or tales of it. I still consider myself a beginner in the world of music, as I just started when I turned 40 ( a very late bloomer ) and I’m finding it beautiful how all the notes can compliment each other or in my case declare war haha.
You’re a great guitar teacher but you are also very beautiful❤️🇬🇧
Thank you! I have had a hard time with Eb chords for ages, including with bar chords and pinky stretches. But this chord is within my reach, and sounds pretty good!
Yay! You’re welcome!!
Hello miss Janet brockman do you know how to shred?
Haha. No I do not.
your beauty and talent i cannot imagine your youth it must be fresh and joyful like a blossom anyway subscribed
I love this :)
Yay! Me too.
Thank you for doing this looking forward to progressing.😊
Me too! Lots of aha’s
It's always the little channels that put everything into perspective <3
😄
thank you
You’re welcome!
I always enjoy your videos. Very informative and you just seem so nice. :) Thank you
Thank you. It takes one to know one. Glad you’re here!
I presume, as these are old videos that registering no longer works. I have tried several times, but no response.
Yes. Sometimes I wonder if I should keep ‘em all or clean shop a bit.
Oh my. Ya. Real old. Haha
Oh gee!! I'm so sorry I didn't read well. I may have only looked at the notification and didn't realize there was more. Registration!! I don't even see a website on this video description, so I'm not sure what you have tried to register. Here's my website: www.everyonecanjam.com Did you go there? You should be able to sign up for my email list and get a welcome email with a link to my free instruction page. Also on my website you can read about my Become a Natural course. You'll find that in the navigation bar. Once you are on my website, you can email me from the "contact" page...also in the navigation bar. if that is what you did and you did not see any emails from me...it may have gone to your spam or junk mail. email me and we can figure it out.
I tried registering. Submitted details, but no response. As I am working my way up from your oldest videos, it may be that the older ones no longer work. You may want to look at that as you may be losing subscribers. I have just gone through the registration process on your latest video and that appears to have worked. Thanks for your help and the videos.
Thanks.
Thanks for the lesson. The guitar is a fun instrument but at the same time it is kind of like does not make sense. The piano keyboard is logical, the notes go in order from lowest to highest. The guitar fretboard you have the same notes with the same pitch in different places, kind of confusing. Also, the tuning on the guitar is also crazy, it is tuned in fourths except between the third and second string. Seems to me all this stuff makes no sense and makes the guitar confusing.
Oh wow! You sound like you’re quoting me ten years ago!! The notes on the piano go in a straight line! So easy to know where they are. I used to say the notes on guitar seem sort of abstract and random. But some things are easier on piano and some others are easier on guitar once you learn a few patterns and three basic shapes. I’ll be posting a special playlist about this any day now. Probably Friday or Saturday. Please watch!
@@janetbrockman3729 I mean I still like playing the guitar, it`s fun but you know.

Hey Music Man, I just wanted to let you know I decided to postpone my next batch of video recordings, but not for long. I’m still anxious to share about this issue of how confusing the fretboard can be. We are going to clear things up!

Your videos are eloquently presented. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting, but no link apparent as with all the videos.
See where it says the number of views and to the right it says “more” click on that.
No 'more' box, just'share', 'download', 'clip' and 'save'.
@@user-vp7vg5pm5p look higher. Look right under the tittle. It says, “60 views 1d ago … more” Just click on the more part. It might look different on a computer. I’m on my phone. But on a computer, there will be a way to expand the more info.

Just wait! 😀
Thanks. This video was helpful.
Oh, great! Well, there’s gonna be a bunch more!!
But you are cute.
Hi Janet, I have been playing daily for 6 years now, and I can play the songs I want... OK (when I look at the tab). Do you think your course would work for me?
I think so, but I’d like to learn more about you before I say. Do you have any frustrations or things you’d like to be able to do that you can’t do yet? Are you able to memorize what you play or improvise? Do you understand the fretboard? If you would like to continue this conversation, privately, you can email me from my website. My website is in the description under the video.
can't wait. i always enjoy your videos.
Thanks, Nice to hear from you.
Long Fingers. 😊
