Just caught up on your last several videos -- CONGRATULATIONS!!! After the (often) misery that was NM, I cannot applaud your fortitude enough - flip-flops, mosquitos, constant rain/thunder storms, lonely sections - congrats again for seeing it thru!! Truly an inspiration. Hot Mess and I may give it a go again some day :) - Thanks so much for the great videos - really enjoyed following along! - Butters
Congratulations!
Did it take a long time to get home? For me, that's the worst part of finishing a hike, the time it takes to back to where I live. I'm not keen these days about how long it takes to get to the beginning of a hike either. These days as an older hiker I've started to walk from airport to airport. I recently hiked from Geneva Airport to Lyon Airport, next spring my plan is to hike from Bordeaux to Toulouse Airport. All the very best to you.
great works!! wow wonderful video.Incredible hike and beautiful footage.Thank you for sharing this amazing video.Cheers 🥂 from Japan🐶💞💞😉👍
Amazing congratulations!
Thank you!! I hope that you enjoyed watching 😊
Excellent video documentation of your 5 month journey. Glad that you made it safely. I enjoyed your videos a great deal.

Bravo. Thanks for taking us along. God bless you in all you do. Loved your optimism and videos
Thank you so much!
Am I correct, hiking for about 184 days? The longest I've ever walked is 51 days, compared to you I was just out for a stroll. Have you any more long hikes planned?
154 day, although I did take over a week off trail when I finished New Mexico before doing the Basin and then heading back to Colorado so that number is a bit skewed. Thanks for watching. It has been lovely to share the journey with you.
@@uptothehills2053 I added up whilst drinking my 3rd glass of wine.

I think the animal in the tree is a Pine Marten. A weasel family member.
Thank you. This looks like a great opportunity for a sedentary couch potato like myself to experience the wonders of nature vicariously through your adventures and my phone.
I’m glad the town reviews are back 🙌🏻. If I heard a grizzly growl near my tent I would just pass away. I can’t believe you’re almost done!😢🥳

Wow, this is what I call an adventure. Great video
6 more days 😭
Hi! Ohhh what beautiful scenery Looks so peaceful.. you and these podcasts 😮.. and those camp reviews .. the good thing, you’re doing what you enjoy!
I know! I should stop listening to podcasts that freak me out!
The critter in the tree was a pine marten.
Wow! You did a great job navigating around/with the grizzlies. I’m so proud of you! 6 more days! You will be missed.
Well done, you are doing so well. Do you know how many days you have been walking since starting the trail? It certainly makes our UK 'long distance' 268 mile Pennine Way look a short distance when compared to your effort.
Honestly hitchhiking sounds like it’s the worst 😅 What VCR did you watch at the motel? I hope it was ‘So I married an axe murderer’ 😂.
That was an option, but I chose the classic, Clueless 😁
I just found your channel and I love it! Since your are on the CDT, I will start there. But I had to check out your recommendations here. I would have to say regarding preparation and fitness that if someone is twenty to thirty and maybe forty something and not obese they will become fit as they hike as you suggest. However, if a person is fifty or older or excessively overweight that they are likely to become injured early in their hike before developing their trail legs. As for long distance trails in the USA, most hikers start with the Appalachian Trail. The statistics bare the truth as only one of four individuals finish their hike. Most list illness or injury as their reasons for stopping. Often they start out with packs that are extremely heavy. I suggest that only prepping by hiking several overnight trails, doing 50 to 200 miles, is going to help a person know if they are fit enough or not.
That is very helpful. It is true that getting fit on trail does require potentially doing low miles to start with and some long trails with a weather window don’t always allow for that as an option. So building up miles before would be helpful. Glad you found the channel. I hope you enjoy following along.
Girl, that whole video was great. Well done you! :)
Thank you so much!!
Sounds like you’ve been hiking on the Eyre Peninsula this week - Elliston to Lincoln to Augusta 😂😂
I thought the same thing at the time 😂
Next stop Whitefish and Glacier NP. Take care and happy trails.
Thanks for your support.
I loved the video, I like your laid back style. I'm 79 and male (and still hiking) and I hitchhike as well. I've learned what works for me, here in the UK I take my hat off, put on my reading glasses (I think it makes me look more 'normal') and I think my age works in my favour as well. By the way, did you foot heal OK?
Yes, foot is going well. Thanks.
The scenery is beautiful but girl after Ivan Milat and hitchhikers in your native country, the fact that you’re hitchhiking blows me away .. and it looks like they were in a camper truck of sorts 😮.. girl Grateful you’re experienced kindness, thanks to the forest worker Be Safe… enjoying your journey
Ivan Milat has crossed my mind once or twice! 😳 I have a few precautions in place but thankfully I’ve only encountered wonderful and generous people.
