Newest GG One is using sil-PU rather than sil-poly, which should help prevent the water weight. It’s a no-brainer that the Duplex Light is the superior choice. But with the price being more than three times expensive, the DuplexL is out of reach for most occasional hikers or hikers on a budget.

We enjoyed following your hike. Maybe I missed it but what was your backpack? Did it hold up well? The side pocket was huge and could fit your tent - wow. Did having something so large on the side throw your weight off when hiking?

The Liteaf 46L Curve has load lifters if you ever manage to wear out your 40L. There are also other cottage gear companies that you can get hip belt pockets to add to yours via the webbing chain. It's a great pack!

A most useful video. I'm hoping to buy a new rucksack for next year's season and have been looking at the Gorilla,. The two dislikes, the scuffing problem, and the wet getting through, have persuaded me to look elsewhere. I hike in the UK and we have lots of wet weather. At present I have a Nigor 50L made from Dyneema, it's light, tough and comfortable but unfortunately, the company I think has gone out of business. However I do know what I like, in terms of design and what I will look for again, one big area to pack, a large pocket on the back, two side pockets and two belt pockets, etc, but this time 40L sounds much better size. I can never fill my 50L and because of this it always feels a bit floppy. Thanks again for all of your videos, I've enjoyed every one.

I loved watching your journey, and I feel so lucky to be able to watch this gear review. I am literally in tears amazed at how intimidating, strong, knowledgeable, honest, genuine, and hardworking you are. You are inspirational, aspirational, and just amazing. I'm sure you know that already, but I gotta say it anyway... I'm pretty sure I missed my chance to do what you do, and you did it alone! When people came and went, you kept to the trail!! Flipped up when you needed to and kept going. Can I say I'm proud of you on behalf of women everywhere??? Maybe I'll get to sectioning parts of various thru hikes, but until then, I love your story!! And I feel close enough to your aura space having tested my own gear to actually understand what your opinions about your gear means... it's directly helpful. It's directly personal. I’m a little late to the party. I only found your channel recently but have watched every CDT vlog. This is another great video that surprised me because it was over so quickly. I looked at the play time and couldn’t believe it was 30 minutes. Not a slow or boring spot from start to finish. You should have a million followers!! If you were to hike the CDT again is there anything you would add??

I may have typed this before, but as an older person still hiking (79) who's hearing is not as good as it was, I find your speech speed so easy to listen to. For me it's clear and I very much appreciate that you are not into 'umms and haas,' and using the word 'like' in every sentence. Were you a teacher in your previous life?

I too use Tyvek, a great material, I use mine like you do, and I use it when I fancy an afternoon nap. Your hiking sign is a good idea, I'd never thought of that one. I too have the pillow problem, but these days I fold a pillow case over my 'blow up' and stuff unused clothing inside. It improves my sleeping no end.

I always watched your videos in the morning, whilst having my first cup of tea of the day, and my bowl of muesli. The videos passed too quickly for me.

Your video with the moose buddies blocking the trail was great. You likely knew this but, It’s good that you kept your distance from the moose. They will freight train you if they feel threatened or worse stomp you to death sometimes. Yearly more people are injured by moose than bears.

Congratulations on your achievement. I must admit I do like hitch-hiking, have done it since the 1960s, and have never had a bad lift. Its such a useful skill to have when hiking.
