@RhezaElfuegoTheWizard hello, sorry for the late reply. Keep on dosing Stability with the proper dosage for a week to establish the bacteria. Make sure the bio media is place in a proper location. Do not wash the bio media with tap water

You can use either neutral regulator or alkaline buffer. Alkaline buffer if it's an aqua scape tank.

I'm using seachem replenish , will I be correct if I just add neutral regulator with it ? Thx

Water changes should be done weekly. As for the fertilizer, there's no one way method to this. But personally I prefer to wait 2-3 weeks after planting before adding macro nutrients and a few more weeks after before using micronutrients

If the ph keep on rising, you'll have to check if there's anything in your aquarium system that is rising the ph level. For example crushed corals, laval rocks or any minerals rocks or sands

@@SeachemMalaysia Sir, before adding water to my discus tank, I take only water in a separate bucket and put only an air pump in it and leave it for twelve hours. Then after twelve hours I put discus buffer in it but still the pH does not remain stable. Yes, the pH decreases for a while but then after a while it starts increasing on its own. What should I do? Check for anything that might increase pH in your tank. For example, crushed corals, rocks or even sands that could be alkaline in nature.

I can try something else like without air pump, I can just install a fan and blow air over the water from above and observe for 10-12 hours so that the air from the fan can reach the surface of the bucket of water. Then I will see what happens. If you have some other suggestion then let me know.

Hi sorry for the late reply. To remove 6mg/l of po4 in a 240L you'll need at least 1.7kg of phosguard or more depending on how much phosphate is generated each day

Hello, you could lower the kh with Acid Buffer and if the pH started to drop, use Seachem Neutral Regulator to maintain it at 7.0

Milky water might appear if you add fishes before the one week cycle is complete. Keep in mind that some woods would make the water milky too.

@@SeachemMalaysia Thanks for replying.. I'm using Stability and Prime, thot i can add fish immediately. I'm keeping only a 4" baby arowana in a 4 feet bare tank without wood and substrate. Every time I change water fully, it turn cloudy on the second or third day after adding Stability and Prime.

@edwanchew the proper way to use Stability is to double dose on the first day and then daily dose for the following 6 days before adding any fishes. But since you have already added fish, you should now triple dose Prime every 48hrs while daily dose Stability until the water clear

@edwanchew you're welcome. By the way, you don't need to change the water during this period of time as changing too much water will prevent the stability bacteria from growing.

You can use both of them together. 0.5mg/l of phosphate is enough. But do make sure that you also have 2mg/l of nitrate and 20mg/l of potassium as well as 3dgh. And keep in mind that not all nitrogen in synthesis are nitrate. Therefore you'll not get the proper ready if you test for nitrate immediate after dosing

@SeachemMalaysia my latest test after 3hour co2 off was 10mg/l no³ 4dgh. I haven't source for a good potassium test kit yet.

10mg /l of no3 is too high. You can temporary stop dosing synthesis for now. Can you tell me more about your tank? Such as how old is it, frequency of water change and what other fertiliser are you using

Hi before I can answer, could you let me know what are you referring to when you mentioned 500+ppm? 500+ppm of carbonate in water? Cause that can't be right. And also why are you using both replenish and equilibrium?

@SeachemMalaysia well from what I've learned through various videos my tds should be around 200 ppm tds with kh and gh. Why I use equalibrium and replenish is cause I was thinking maybe one had minerals that the other wouldn't have. Not sure, I'd like to figure it out.. I'm growing live plants. I've been using like 1.3 grams of acid and 1.7 or alkaline but I've probably been doing it wrong.. fish seem to do ok and I haven't had to do many water changes but most plants don't grow very fast

TDS is for Total Dissolved Solids. Which mean it measure anything that is dissolve in the water. Which would not only include carbonate but also minerals that might have came from the water pipe or nitrate or any organic substances that dissolve in the water as well as nutrients for plants. Therefore it is not wise to use TDS when adjusting carbonate. You should use a Kh tester when adjusting carbonate and also GH tester when adjusting GH. TDS give you a general idea of how much stuff is dissolve in water but a tester will still be needed to be accurate. Equilibrium and Replenish provide GH but equilibrium is design for aquascaping therefore unlike Replenish it doesn't contain sodium which is bad for plants and also it provides potassium for plants as well. If you have proper GH and kh but you tds is high, you might dirty water and need water change or filter maintenance or maybe your in coming water is not good. Test your in coming water as well. Also over dosing nutrients will also cause a spike in tds

Yes, acid buffer will lower the pH by converting the carbonate into carbon dioxide. Use the recommended dose daily until the desire level is reach. Do not use more then the recommended dose in a single day

3dkh is enough buffer to maintain a stable pH. You can add acid buffer according to the amount of water that is changed to avoid pH fluctuations. After adding acid buffer you kh might drop slightly but it will still be enough to avoid sudden pH drop.

Use the recommended dose of 2g/80L. This should slightly lower you pH. You can redose after 24,hrs if the desire level is not reach.

Unfortunately you can't raise your existing kh while lowering the pH at once. Acid Buffer works by converting carbonate to carbon dioxide thus lowering the pH and at once. However, if you really need to increase your kh to 4 while in the same time lowering the pH, you could try increasing the carbonate with Alkaline buffer while lowering the pH by reducing the GH with Discus buffer. But we suggest if l possible it would be better to not try to lower pH while in the same time increasing kh. It is very difficult to maintain unless if you are keeping planted aquarium with CO2 injection. The CO2 will lower the pH without affecting kh.

Seachem Alkaline buffer raises kh only while Aquavitro carbonate raises kh and potassium. Equilibrium raises GH and potassium while mineralize raises GH only

Hello, you can't permanently raise kh and drop pH at the same time. To reduce pH you must reduce the hardess of water. But naturally in time organic acidic substance will slowly accumulate in the aquarium that will cause the pH to drop even when Kh is unchanged. I suggest focus on reducing the pH first as it is more important for the first.

No it is not necessary. But try not to over feed. This is because the nitrification bacteria in the filter will be slightly effected by medicine therefore is not functioning in full capacity. Because 4dKH is about 1.5 times of 2.8. But to be exact it's 4 divide by 2.8 and result is slightly more then 1.4.
