No its not. Dates are intentional. Its you and your partner adjusting for each other. Its the same way mindlessly scrolling isnt proper relaxation time. Running errands is still errands. Grabbing lunch and a date are different but I'd count it as a date even if it's spontaneous as long as I was able to get dressed up and we go to have some good quality time (it's longer, deeper discussions, maybe other quality time stuff like taking a walk or seeing a movie), I wouldn't if it's just for the purpose of getting something in our stomachs real quick

I think it depends on what other dates we are going on. So if we are both a little short on time and try to plan nice things then an opportunity like this definitely counts as a date. If this is the most I can get from my partner or the most they can get from me then it probably doesn't feel like a date and I would be a little disappointed.
