It should taste pretty much the same. It'll be a bigger bite and texture will be slightly different. Smaller ones tend to stay crispier longer.
Hunni can the pear be substituted or left out?
The pear adds sweetness and help tenderize the cabbage. You can substitute the korean pear for any other type of pear, apple, and even peaches. Or you can just add some more sugar or honey.
